After hiking the Smokies for many years I discovered the Bryson City / Deep Creek area in 2012 and fell in love with it so much I decided to relocate here. Found my dream home which included a guest house which I have decided to rent out part time. Absolutely love all the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.
Michael Davis purchased this barn in 2013
At 3000 feet elevation this place has beautiful views of the mountains and spectacular sunsets. The central location to rafting, boating, hiking and Bryson City couldn't be better.
In less than 20 minutes or less you can get to Nantahala National Forest hiking, Fontana Reservoir boating / fishing, trout fishing in numerous creeks, kayaking / rafting at the Nantahala river, Smoky Mountain National Park hiking / tubing at Deep Creek and lots of fun activities and good food / drinks in Bryson City.
This place had absolutely everything I needed. It was close to everything in the area including Bryson City, Cherokee and lot's of absolutely beautiful fishing spots. In Bryson there are some great places to go; Tuckasagee Fly Shop, Nantahala Brewing, quite a few restaurants, the Tuckasagee River runs right through town and is beautiful. Michael was a great host... Very nice, down to earth guy with a really sweet dog. Heck, he even had a beer with me one evening and took the time to show me his woodworking shop. The view from the covered porch is just perfect, especially at sunset. I will definitely be back.
nice little apartment type home. plenty of room for 3. Mike very easy to get along with and very accommodating. Would recommend to stay there and will stay there again....
It was so beautiful and cozy there! The only problem I can think of was we had to return home.I could have stayed forever if possible. The owner was not only friendly but made us feel so welcome during our stay not once did he pressure us or make us feel we were walking on glass by being in his place. There wasn't a book of rules or regulations sitting there making us feel everything had to be perfect nor was there a deposit fee! All I can say is I loved it there and would I go back? Yes Michael, if you would be willing to welcome us back in your home!!I I was already planning another trip before we hit our state line coming home!
We stayed here for most of the week of Thanksgiving 2016 & had the BEST time!! The cabin/barn had all we needed to house our belongings as well as our doggie babies...not to mention I was able to make a fabulous Thanksgiving meal to. It was very peaceful & the view here is unbelievable!! We loved sitting out on the porch or the balcony off the back. The neighbors checked in on us while Mr. Michael was away & were so nice and helpful when needed. We hope to be back soon. ~The Smith's~
Quiet area. Very friendly host! Views were stunning and everyday was adventure. Place is actually a bit bigger than you would think. Very clean and has everything you could possibly need. Also for pet owners he has a cage you can borrow in case you need one. I would highly recommend this cabin anyday! Will definitely go here again if I'm in the area. Loved the stay!
My fiance, nephew, a friend, and myself along with our two small dogs fit comfortably in this beautiful cabin. The view was incredible and there was plenty of room for everyone! The cabin had everything we needed and then some. The personal touches that Mike has throughout really make it feel like a home away from home. The wifi was fast, central heat worked great, and the water pressure in the shower was awesome. Mike went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. He even lent us a huge crate to keep our pug in when we were out in town. We had dinner with him for New Years and you could really tell he loves entertaining and getting to know his guests. He was extremely hospitable without being overbearing and it was a wonderful vacation. Our dogs had a blast and the property is beautiful. We will DEFINITELY be back!
