About Michael Davis
After hiking the Smokies for many years I discovered the Bryson City / Deep Creek area in 2012 and fell in love with it so much I decided to relocate here. Found my dream home which included a guest house which I have decided to rent out part time. Absolutely love all the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.
Michael Davis purchased this Barn in 2013
Why Michael Davis chose Bryson City
At 3000 feet elevation this place has beautiful views of the mountains and spectacular sunsets. The central location to rafting, boating, hiking and Bryson City couldn't be better.
What makes this Barn unique
In less than 20 minutes or less you can get to Nantahala National Forest hiking, Fontana Reservoir boating / fishing, trout fishing in numerous creeks, kayaking / rafting at the Nantahala river, Smoky Mountain National Park hiking / tubing at Deep Creek and lots of fun activities and good food / drinks in Bryson City.

Really nice place!!
The location is great, and so was Mike’s hospitality! The view from the cabin is particularly nice, especially in the evening. The rooms are nice and cozy as well. Our family had an awesome time there! Thank you!
Awesome owner and remote location
Stayed here for 5 nights with wife and two small children. Have to start by saying Mike is a super nice guy and was very helpful/accommodating to our family. He does have a small dog that my kids weren't too fond of, but he did his best to keep it away and the dog was very friendly (my kids just aren't dog people).
As far as the cabin, it is small but has everything you need and even a pretty decent wifi setup. Bathroom won't handle more than one person at a time and is shower only. The place is very well provisioned, so check what's in the cabinets before buying anything like detergent, paper towels, etc. Place was a little dusty but overall clean.
This place is a 15 minute drive up a windy mountain rode that seems to be under some manner of construction or repair a lot. You are 15 minutes from closest gas station and 20-25 from closest grocery. Grocery is Ingles and Mike lent us a discount card for there.
There is a very tucked away waterfall near the top of Alarka road, google alarka falls and put your boots on, it's worth the visit.
Beautiful getaway in the Smokies
My husband, son (teenager) and dog had a great time in the shanty. The location is off the beaten path and secluded with just a few homes around. The view is worth it all!! The mountain views and sunset from the front porch are amazing. The view of the stars from the balcony and lightning bugs that light up the trees like a Christmas tree at night are priceless. The home was clean and homey and had everything we needed for our stay. We plan to visit again.
Mike and Enola (gorgeous little Shepherd mix pup) were great hosts. He was very polite and gracious throughout our visit. I would highly recommend this rental.
very private and quiet. easy access for motorcycles, friendly and pleasant owner.
This is a great place for a quiet getaway.
My husband and I needed recharging after some stressful events and our weekend here did the trick. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The back deck is awesome and perfect for watching the sunset. The bathroom is a bit tight if you're girthy but we managed just fine. The owner is very hospitable and sincerely kind. We would definitely consider staying again.
Excellent little place!!!
This cozy little place was perfect for our family. The host was perfect, and even had a savings card for the local grocery store handy. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Really, we'd like to just move there!!!
