About Camille & Pascal

We are Pascal and Camille, world travelers and French Chefs. We moved to Costa Rica 5 years ago and fell in love with this country ! We have been working in the Hotel & Catering Industry for ever and decided to settle down here now that we are a family with our 2 girls.

Camille & Pascal purchased this bungalow in 2014

Why Camille & Pascal chose Tamarindo

We love Avellanas beach and wanted to be located walking distance from this beauty. We were so happy to find this incredible lot, far enough from the main road to avoid the noise and dust and close enough to the ocean with a jungle feeling. Around us is a protected zone where the trees are the perfect home for local wildlife.

Guanacaste can become very dry from Nov to May and we wanted to enjoy the green all year round which we are able to do thanks to this protected area around us.

What makes this bungalow unique

We decided to build our home and bungalows so we can make it our own way ! The result is terrific, a mix of Carribean shape with outdoor patio and red roof, european refinement with the interior design, a sense of durability and ecology with recycled items and durable lay out, we even recylce water thanks to our waste water treatment ! All the decoration is local art exposed by artists that you can buy on site if you are in love with it, our way to support local artisans !

Best week of my life ♡

  • 5 of 5

Camille and Pascal went above and beyond! The property is beautiful, the walk to the beach is magical and the overall experience was one that will forever be remembered. The bungalows were very clean and sturdy, especially during heavy rains at night. I loved having my coffee in the outdoor kitchen every morning and we ended up joining tables together to eat with the other bungalow occupants at night. I just left and am already missing the Costa Rica vibes and our newfound friends. We will definitely be back again!

Walking distance to best beach in the area!

  • 5 of 5

Playa Avellanas is the most lovely beach a person could want! The sand is so pretty with the mixture of back and tan sand.... Actually much prettier than Playa Negro, just to the south. The owners, Camille, and Pascal were so helpful and welcoming and the kids were so cute and fun! The shared kitchen was very well stocked and was a great way to get to know the other couple staying at the adjoining cottage. Plus, it was so much fun to cook and eat with the howler monkeys in the trees just above the kitchen. The super nice local fisherman delivers fish twice weekly right to the cottage, which was delicious! It was so fun to get to chose from his diverse selection of fish. The Palo Verde boat tour on the Tempisque River was a highlight for my husband. Lots of crocs and birds there. Right from the yard at the cottage we saw a variety of birds.....white-tailed nightjars, Inca doves, squirrel cuckoos, black-headed trogons, turquoise-browed motmots plus verigated squirrels and loads of howler monkeys. We loved our stay and didn't want to leave!

lovely and peaceful, close walk to the beautiful beach!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place to stay in Avellanas. Camille and Pascal are wonderful hosts and amazing chefs, I highly recommend ordering dinner from them during your stay. The cabina is clean and modern with ac and hot water if you want it. It is a close walk to the beach through cabinas las olas and you can rent a surf board near by at casa surf, or arrange for lessons there. I highly recommend this place to stay in Avellanas.

Felt like home

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I booked this house months before coming to Costa Rica. From the beginning, Camille and Pascal have been on top at communicating via email. We received very detailed directions of how to get to their place. Took us about 1.5 hours from LIR airport, as expected. Once arrived, we were greeted with warm hugs and handshakes from Camille and Pascal, a wonderful French couple, who decided to settle in Costa Rica with their two beautiful daughters. Instantly, we fell in love with their property. Pictures of the property are great! However, it's even better in person. Absolutely stunning location, surrounded by the forest full of life, close to beautiful Playa Avellanas. And the night sky... I simply couldn't get my eyes off of it, you just have to see for yourself. The houses were built and designed by Camille and Pascal themselves. I would say there is a combination of modern, rustic and island designs with the use of environmentally sustainable resources. Absolutely beautiful, very clean and cozy. The outdoors kitchen is just perfect with clean water coming from their own well. Also Camille and Pascal are personal chefs, they prepared super delicious meals for us twice. We would never want to stay in another hotel after staying at Vida Verde. Merci beaucoup!!
