About the property

Well equipped barn conversion, sleeps 4/6, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

'The Milking Parlour' was converted in 2008. It is just 2 miles from the popular harbour town of St Ives, but peacefully located high near the dramatic north Cornwall coast and ideal for exploring the rugged cliffs and country of this beautiful area. The property has slate floors throughout, with underfloor heating powered by geothermal energy from our own boreholes. Also, solar panels make the most of the sunlight to make this a very energy efficient property.

The property has two bedrooms, (one with double bed, en suite wet room and mini kitchen; the second with twin beds,) family bathroom, kitchen/ diner, and large living room with wood burning stove, and a 'hideaway' double bed.

Outside to one side of the property is an enclosed courtyard area, while on the other side there is a garden and large raised patio area with a panoramic view down to the sea - the ideal place to enjoy a barbecue and watch the sun set.

Bookings: Your bookings will be held for 2 weeks provisionally, and confirmed when deposit/ payment is received.

A deposit of £100 (or full amount if less) is required to confirm booking, and the balance to be paid4 weeks before your holiday. If booking 4 weeks or less before holiday date, the full amount is required immediately.

Arrival and Departure: The property will be ready from 3pm on the day of arrival, please leave by 10 am when you depart. Please leave everything clean and tidy. If you don't we may have to charge for extra cleaning.

  • Hideaway bed in the living room is a double with full size luxury mattress, which is simply folded away with all the bedding during the day. The counterbalance mechanism ensures that this is as easy as closing a book - no effort is required and it can be done with one finger.

Notes:
The whole property has underfloor heating throughout, powered by a ground source heat pump, and is cosy, especially for your feet! The water supply is pure and natural from our own borehole. The spacious living room has comfortable seating for 6 people. Broadband access is unlimited, and a telephone is available. TV is digital with all the available freeview channels. There are video and DVD players. For winter stays a basket of fuel is included for the wood burning stove. Our new kitchen has cream cupboards and solid oak worktops and is fully equipped with ceramic 4 ring hob; double electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and much more.

A fantastic time in a wonderful property

The Milking Parlour exceeded our expectations, very roomy, very clean, very well equipped. The wet room was ideal for someone with some mobility problems and there was a great bath for those more mobile. The kitchen was the best equipped of any rental I have ever seen and the beds were very comfy. A lovely and well kept and converted conversion. Definitely one to come back to.

The house was absolutely lovely and very comfortable.

We had a wonderful break in a lovely area. The house was beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. It was warm and welcoming and perfect for the four of us. Five minutes from St Ives and in a stunning environment. I'm looking forward to having another holiday there in the new year with other family members.

Stilvolle Ferienwohnung zum Wohlfühlen

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche im Milking Parlour. Hier gibt es alles, was für einen Urlaubsaufenthalt notwendig ist und mehr! Mehl, Zucker, Salz, Gewürze: Sogar einen Adapter für die britischen Steckdosen war vorhanden!

Der Umbau der Scheune ist großartig gelungen: Stilvolle Einrichtung, schöne Bäder, gute Betten. Das Hauptschlafzimmer hat sogar noch eine Mini-Küche (die wir aber nicht benutzt haben). Und das Ganze wunderbar ruhig mit großartigem Blick, 10 Min. mit dem Auto von St. Ives entfernt. Und bei Regen zieht man einfach den Foto-Vorhang in der Küche zu und sieht auf die Landschaft bei strahlendem Sonnenschein.

Nur der Staubsauger tat nicht so wirklich, was er sollte (einen Besen haben wir nicht gefunden).

Wir kommen sicher noch einmal wieder!

The property is just outside St Ives - famous for art galleries such as The Tate and and the Hepworth Museum. With quaint narrow streets, shops, harbour, restaurants and sandy beaches the town is a beautiful vibrant destination. Alternatively, explore the rugged and wild Cornish coast; look out for the varied bird life; watch for marine life - seals, dolphins and basking sharks are frequent visitors to these coastal waters. There are boat trips and watersports in the area, or horse riding, golf, karting, and many other tourist attractions.

Just 5 miles away is the south coast with the pretty villages of Marazion, St Michael's Mount, (which can only be reached by boat, or on foot at low tide), Mousehole, and the busy town of Penzance.
