We are both retired and love to travel. We enjoy staying in quaint places that have that special added touch provided by the owners.
The Owner purchased this studio in 2009
We decided to add this to the property that we own to be able to share with others. It is close to everything in SD.
We love SD, the weather and all that is available to us in this beautiful city!
What a charming studio, just perfect for my stay! Excellent location close to San Diego attractions...clean...nice décor...well stocked kitchen for my needs...enjoyed patio outside to read in the sun. What a fun surprise to have a bottle of wine and homemade cookies waiting for me; Armida and Greg are lovely owners who clearly want their renters to have a wonderful stay. I'll come back again on my next travel to San Diego!
A wedding in San Diego...where to stay? This studio was the perfect choice! Close enough to downtown for the wedding festivities, but away from the crowds. During our five day stay (wish it could have been longer) - besides a wonderful wedding - we explored mountains, the desert and the shore, coming 'home' each night to recharge for the next day. Enjoyed meeting Armida and Greg who have truly thought of providing everything for a comfortable stay. In the early morning haste to make our flight I left behind a couple of items and Armida was kind enough to pop them in the mail. Once again, another great experience with vrbo, thanks to our extraordinary hosts.
My husband and I are in our mid 50's traveling to California for our nephew's wedding. This was the perfect tiny house for our 5 day San Diego trip. Everything was exactly as described.....even the wine and terrific cookies. We were particularly impressed with how clean and updated the property was. It is tiny, but provided everything you need at a value price for up to two people.
Be aware that if you are from the Midwest, as we are, you will have to get used to parking in San Diego. When we first saw that off street parking can be crowded at times, we were a little concerned. By the end of the first day, we realized that parking is a challenge everywhere you go in San Diego. It just goes with the territory. We managed to get on street parking within a block of the property every day. Most days it was just a few feet away. This is a minor inconvenience compared to all the advantages this rental has to offer. Also, if you are a cable TV junkie, better bring your Roku. They offer only basic local antenna TV plus WiFi ....no cable. This wasn't much of an issue since we were constantly on the go and just used it for local weather while we were getting ready in the AM. There's just so much to see and do in San Diego, there was no time for hanging out in front of the tube.
One thing we really enjoyed was the central location. University Heights is very centrally located, close to the zoo, Balboa Park and the airport. We were just a short drive from Old Town and Little Italy. The owners provided a great book of local attractions, maps and restaurants plus they provide an assortment of trial size toiletries, an iron and a blow dryer.
We found the owners to be very responsive, just a quick text and any questions we had were quickly answered. The kitchen had all the basic necessities for reheating leftovers or making a simple breakfast.
One final thing to consider about this booking is what a great value you get for the price. Lots of listings offer a low price, but when you factor in the added cleaning costs, you really are paying much more than you expect. This place only has a $20 cleaning fee. Plus there is a washer and dryer available just outside the door if you need to do a quick load.
If you want to save a ton of money, but still stay in a clean, quiet central location, this is your best bet. Plus you get a taste of tiny house living. We will book there again on our next trip out.
We could not have been happier with our choice to stay in this adorable studio. Armida was very helpful and sweet. We were welcomed by a bottle of wine and homemade cookies, which made the stay that much more inviting. We will most certainly be back!
My wife and I recently stayed in this cute small studio. They had homemade cookies and wine awaiting us. The price stays the same whether weekday or weekend...much better than staying in a hotel. There is not an official parking space but plenty of parking on street. My wife and I actually walked to a Mexican cafe not too far from there and had great food. Very safe neighborhood and centrally located. Would definitely stay there again and probably will. My wife said the bed was extremely comfortable. You can't go wrong with this place. Plus the owners are extremely easy to work with and communicate with.
Finding this cozy cottage made our trip that much more effortless with convenient location, parking, amenities and cute little details like wine and cookies. Kitchenette is very functional to make to go lunches, bed was comfortable and neighborhood is worth exploring. Highly recommended if you are looking for a safe quite spot in SD!
