Why Mark Milne chose California Desert

I visited Palm Springs for the first time in 2008 and fell in love with the scenery, pace and hospitality. When looking to buy a property in this desert paradise, I visited many different complexes. I knew the minute I stepped into Canyon Shores, this was the place for me. In addition the to beautiful grounds, the complex is remarkably quiet.

What makes this condo unique

I always try to re-Invest in my property through upgrades and renovations. I believe a property needs to continually evolve to remain attractive to the renter. There are still a few minor updates to be done ... But all in good time!

Perfect Condo, great owner, highly recommended

We rented for two weeks in mid-July to work remote (from the condo) while house hunting.

Previous reviews are correct when they say it has “everything you need”. For other condos in the past I had to bring spices/ingredients myself or buy them. I was delighted to find everything I needed. The condo had tons of spices/seasonings as well as other food “ingredients” (olive oil, flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla, etc.) In the refrigerator I found salad dressings, condiments, salsa, even coffee. I do not know if Mark left these there or if past renters left them there but I LOVED the array and abundance. I appreciated it so much that when I ran out of plastic wrap I not only bought some but I also bought plastic bags and foil and added to the collection to help out future renters. There are even reusable shopping bags and a soft side cooler (cold packs in the freezer) for shopping.

The unit is exactly as pictured. It’s on the top floor and very quiet (no one above walking around) and faces south (bedrooms face north). I loved the views of the mountains as I started my work day at the dining room table and the wi-fi was great and NEVER failed me.

We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms so my cousin came to visit for a few days. She loved the condo and the complex so much she decided she wants to buy a unit at Canyon Shores. That’s how nice this place is.

Lastly, some comments about Mark. Whenever I rent from someone the first time I get nervous. I want to reassure any future renters that he is very easy to deal with and very reliable. I was nervous about just depositing a check into his account without the protection of a credit card. My worries were unfounded. Within days (and weeks in advance of my rental) the key card to the gate for the complex arrived in the mail and he included a stamped envelope for me to return it after my stay. A few days before the rental I got an email from Mark with the code for the front door. By the way, not having a key was wonderful. No worries about remembering to take the key with to the pool or getting locked out.

Everything worked out perfectly with Mark. What few questions I had he answered quickly via text or email. A week after we got back he sent me a check with my deposit refund.

Wonderful Condo, Beautiful Grounds

We stayed at Mark's Canyon shores condo for the month of Feb. I knew as soon as I walked in that it was going to be great. The condo is spacious, bright, and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with every gadget you might need. The grounds are stunning. We loved walking the perimeter of the gated neighborhood every morning, lounging by the pool, bike riding to Palm Springs and sitting on the balcony enjoying a margarita while watching the ducks in the beautiful ponds. There are so many fun things to do in the area that we could not get it all done in a month....have to go back next year!!! Mark was remarkable to work with...we were very last minute on our reservation but he made sure we did not stress about it. His words were "go have fun in the sun" and that what we did!! Thank you Mark...can't wait to go back.

Relaxing vacation condo

The accommodations and location of this condo were wonderful. The peaceful and beautiful grounds and pools of Canyon Shores enhance your stay in the sunny Coachella Valley. Restaurants, grocery stores and local attractions are within an easy drive. The owner, Mark was wonderful and attentive. The condo is clean, fully stocked with supplies and well furnished. Having in house Wi-fi was an added plus as well as satellite TV. All information and photos listed on website are exact. We would definitely stay in this lovely condo, again.

Equipped Just Like at Home

Stayed at this rental in November 2014 after having spent the last 5 years elsewhere, and I will sure to return. Not only is Mark very accommodating, the unit is in a quiet gated community close to everything. It is fully stocked, spacious and is within a short walk to 2 of the 5 pools and tennis courts/clubhouse in the community. Pictures are exactly as stated on the website. Cannot wait to come back next year.

Exactly as advertised!

Our recent stay at Canyon Shores was thoroughly enjoyable. The property, grounds, amenities and condo were all accurately represented and lived up to (and sometimes exceeded) expectations. The condo was clean, large, well-furnished and had all the little extras needed, including condiments, plenty of towels, iron, in-suite laundry, and our favourite, Canadian TV, so we could keep up with our football team! Mark was very helpful in answering our numerous questions before arrival, and we had no issues while at the condo. The location within the complex was perfect - ponds and waterfalls on either side of the condo, and the balcony had a great view over one of the pools and the mountains. The tennis courts, gym, and main pool were only steps from the condo, and the complex overall was very well kept and quiet. Plenty of hummingbirds to watch while we ate breakfast on the balcony!

The airport was less than 10 minutes away, and driving to Palm Springs to take in the Air Museum, Art Museum, and Thursday night Villagefest (a huge streetfair complete with food, entertainment and shopping) was even easier. There were no easy-to-walk-to restaurants due to the lack of sidewalks and evening streetlights, but that is the case in most places in the Coachella Valley. We found a great little doughnut shop, Vienna Donut and Ice Cream, about a mile and half away on Ramon Road. The staff were very friendly and we felt like regulars by the second visit. Babe's BBQ and Brewhouse on Hwy. 111 was a great place for an evening meal, sitting on the patio overlooking the River and the sunset. The Trilussa restaurant (Italian) was even closer to home, and had a great evening patio, with movie theatres right next door.

The condo was furnished and outfitted in such a way that you felt comfortable and at home, yet the weather and the views reminded us daily that we were indeed in a lovely vacation spot. We really didn't want to leave, but sadly, our 2 weeks' was up. We would highly recommend Mark's condo for a relaxing getaway.
