Montana!! says it all!! Born and raised here and I am very knowledgeable on all aspects of this area. If you enjoy the outdoors, fishing, rafting, hunting, peace and quiet, night life, skiing, shopping, dining, golf (Meadow Lake resort)
Lots of room to entertain, easy to clean, lots of room outside for kids and pets. Huge patio that looks right at the mountains, Southern exposure to patio,PRIVATE! Room for RV's and camping, ascetically this property is VERY pleasing. Unique
The house is well located between Glacier Park and Whitefish. It needs to have some basic maintenance to repair sliding glass door and ceiling lighting. Our attempts to have Brian respond to returning our Refundable security deposits were unanswered. Home Away contacted Brian in addition to our three attempts to contact him He never replied. We went through HomeAway, Brian's gmail account and his phone number. Brian never replied nor refunded the amount. Hopefully our payment provider will cover the loss. This is inexcusable.
Just finished an outstanding 2 week stay at the lodge. Such a peaceful, serene setting. I am still dreaming of the afternoons spent sipping a beer and gazing at the fields and national forests in the background. Our toddler ran all over the huge lawn, and couldn't get enough of waving hi to the horses in the adjacent properties. 20 minutes to west glacier national park entrance, ~15 min to whitefish. We are already thinking of when we could come back.
Brian is an gracious owner, and lives in the adjacent house. He definitely stays out of your way, but is also available for any issues that come up or to lend advice on what to see. When our rental car picked up a nail in the tire, he brought out an air compressor to fill up the tire so we could get to the shop! Also gave us great advice to head up to Polebrdige for pastries and up to Bowman Lake for a less crowded but gorgeous afternoon on the lake-beach.
You should know that internet is provided, but really slow (I clocked 0.5mb/sec), which is fine because you're here to enjoy nature, not read Buzzfeed. However don't come in expecting to stream netflix. Also there is no air conditioning, which is fine for 90% of summer days, since evenings are quite cool and the house is designed to stay cool with its vaulted ceilings. However there was a heat wave ending the day we arrived, and so the first afternoon was a hot one, but every day after that was fine.
It was nice and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The owner was very friendly. It's about 15 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park, but only 5 minutes from stores and restaurants in Columbia Falls, so overall it was a very convenient place to be.
The house, location, and owner were all excellent. couldnt ask for a better location and property. would definatly stay here again.
The owner stayed next door and was extremely helpful and cordial. The wifi was weak, but we were gone most of the day. Lighting in the house was not great, but sufficient. We had all of the amenities we needed. The setting is semi rural and very quiet. I would suggest this to anyone who wants to stay in this area.
This was our first visit to Glacier and it was great. Brian's home was wonderful and provided a great base to explore Glacier, Whitefish, and Flathead Lake. It was nice having Brian so available and he gave us lots of local information that was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again when we come back.
The property is very well located for Whitefish (20 min), Glacier Park (20 minutes), Whitefish Mtn Resort, Kalispell Airport.
It is just far enough out of town to be private while being only 7 min from groceries , fuel and dining.
Huge yard for kids to run free of all ages. Surrounded by horse properties, kids seem to love feeding the horses. Have a campfire in the fire pit..
Please inquire, I would be happy to
