Hall Hacienda is our 2nd home which we share during the summer. It is less than 10 years old and renovated in summer 2011 with new appliances, paint, etc. It is the left half of a 2 level duplex, with a full time family next door. 1800 sq. ft.
Downstairs features a large family room w/ 60' flat-screen HD LG TV, Direct TV cable and wireless internet. There is a modern kitchen and dining table for 6-8. there are new Sanyo stacking washer/drier combo. In the back on the main floor is a full bath and a bedroom w/ a queen bed.
Upstairs on the front is a large master w/ cable and king bed. Walk out onto the private deck and swing and watch the ocean, smell the salt spray and watch the people ride down the street. The master bath has a walk-in shower and separate tub. Double sinks w/ large counter make it easy to get ready for the beach or an evening out.
Upstairs are 2 other bedrooms. One w/ queen bed and the other w/ twin and roll under trundle. They share a bathroom w/ shower.
On the bottom level is parking for 4 cars in a single line. There is an outdoor shower to wash off after a day on the beach.
Beach access is at the end of the block. (You might find another 'private' one a bit closer if you watch the neighbors.)
A short walk away is Carolina Beach Park Lake where there is paddle boat rental, playground, and usually an outside kid-friendly movie (Toy Story, etc) each weekend. It also hosts the Saturday farmer's market.
Easy access (0.6 mi. ) to the Carolina Beach boardwalk with a small carnival throughout the summer and weekly fireworks. There are many great restaurants and bars with live entertainment most evenings. Do not miss Britt's Doughnuts!

We are both from North Carolina and live in Wilmington. We have 4 grown children and love to travel.
Barbara Bass purchased this townhome in 2011
We recently downsized our home in Wilmington and wanted a place to escape for long weekends and to be our 'extra bedrooms' for family visits. Just the quick trip across the bridge seems to come with a change in attitude. It creates a vacation while still essentially at home.
We bought this home for us, but we rent it in the summer when no family is in town or we are working.
We had a wonderful time filled with relaxation and fun in the sun! We enjoyed playing beach games, surfing, and the weather was perfect for flying our kite! We were a little bummed Britt's Donuts was closed for the weekend (heard there was a wedding for one of the family members) but the easy access to the beach across the street more than made up for it. As always, a walk up to the Fat Pelican is always a must while on vacation down there!
The house was clean and roomy enough for 3 couples and 2 singles. We had no issues cooking in and entertaining each night for our out of town guests.
I would rent this property again for future visits.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only problem was trying to back out on the busy street.
Walking distance to local restaurants, the lake, the boardwalk, safe enough for older kids to walk or bike. Beach access very close. Fun to watch beach traffic and stars from decks.
Clean, nicely decorated, plenty of seating. Master was beautiful and large. Twin bedroom too small when trundle pulled out for 13 yr olds, but happy to take queen on first level with own bathroom.
The listing description was accurate and the pictures were current pictures representing the current condition. It was very clean and well-maintained. There were beach chairs and beach boards available for use, if needed. Other accessories included baby gates, pack n play and sheets to fit. Little things like shampoo and baby wash in the outside shower for when you return from the beach, shampoo/soap in each bathroom inside as well. Barbara (and neighbor) were very helpful and made check in and check out very easy. There was plenty of space for my husband and I along with our three adult children and one year old grand daughter. If you are looking for somewhere to run away to and just take clothes, food, and beach towels, this is the place!
Nice unit with all the amenities and creature comforts of home. Thoroughly enjoyed the place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hall Hacienda. The house was decorated perfectly, the rooms were very spacious and most importantly the entire house was extremely clean! There was plenty of dishes/cookware available. As an added surprise, we found that nice hand soap was available in all the bathrooms in addition to bath soap for the showers/baths. We were treated very well by Barbara Bass who was so helpful to check in with us to see how we were enjoying our stay and she also made some wonderful suggestions on activities available in the area. Anyone who rents this house will not be disappointed at all! The only thing we did not like was only staying a few days...next time we want to stay longer!
Carolina Beach is a small community working hard to expand it's welcome as a family vacation spot. The Boardwalk features weekly summer fireworks, regular live entertainment, and an amusement park each summer w/ rides, games, and carnival food.
At the lake you can find the weekly Saturday Farmer's Market, kid friendly outside movies, and paddle-boats. There are sometimes special events, including an annual fundraiser for animal adoption, chowder cook-off, etc..
Walk across the street and throw in a line for surf fishing (license required, pretty cheap) or book an offshore trip from the marina. Stop by one of the tackle shops or the Kure Beach Pier to see what is biting.
You can take your 4-wheel drive on Freeman Park or rent a golf cart and explore the area.
The choice of local restaurants grows each season. The Boardwalk features Britt's Doughnuts (a local favorite!) and several bars, including the Silver Dollar, often w/ live local bands. Food choices range from Seafood, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Southern, Sushi, and sandwiches. A quick drive to Wilmington will give even more options, including some excellent 'foodie' selections. We LOVE to eat and can give some great suggestions! (Local Seafood restaurants good for fried, OK for other, but for the best choices head into town.)
Take the quick drive to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, Historic Downtown Wilmington, Jungle Rapids Waterpark, Ride the Riverboat, or see see one of multiple local live theater groups. You might even notice some locations from 'Hollywood East,' home of TV shows Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Revolution, Under the Dome, the pilot for Revenge, Sleepy Hollow, and IRON MAN 3. You might run into a 'Star' at dinner or even in the grocery store.
Have a great stay!!
