Hall Hacienda is our 2nd home which we share during the summer. It is less than 10 years old and renovated in summer 2011 with new appliances, paint, etc. It is the left half of a 2 level duplex, with a full time family next door. 1800 sq. ft.
Downstairs features a large family room w/ 60' flat-screen HD LG TV, Direct TV cable and wireless internet. There is a modern kitchen and dining table for 6-8. there are new Sanyo stacking washer/drier combo. In the back on the main floor is a full bath and a bedroom w/ a queen bed.
Upstairs on the front is a large master w/ cable and king bed. Walk out onto the private deck and swing and watch the ocean, smell the salt spray and watch the people ride down the street. The master bath has a walk-in shower and separate tub. Double sinks w/ large counter make it easy to get ready for the beach or an evening out.
Upstairs are 2 other bedrooms. One w/ queen bed and the other w/ twin and roll under trundle. They share a bathroom w/ shower.
On the bottom level is parking for 4 cars in a single line. There is an outdoor shower to wash off after a day on the beach.
Beach access is at the end of the block. (You might find another 'private' one a bit closer if you watch the neighbors.)
A short walk away is Carolina Beach Park Lake where there is paddle boat rental, playground, and usually an outside kid-friendly movie (Toy Story, etc) each weekend. It also hosts the Saturday farmer's market.
Easy access (0.6 mi. ) to the Carolina Beach boardwalk with a small carnival throughout the summer and weekly fireworks. There are many great restaurants and bars with live entertainment most evenings. Do not miss Britt's Doughnuts!

We are both from North Carolina and live in Wilmington. We have 4 grown children and love to travel.
Barbara Bass purchased this townhome in 2011
We recently downsized our home in Wilmington and wanted a place to escape for long weekends and to be our 'extra bedrooms' for family visits. Just the quick trip across the bridge seems to come with a change in attitude. It creates a vacation while still essentially at home.
We bought this home for us, but we rent it in the summer when no family is in town or we are working.
We were a family of four staying here and found it easy to have our own space. The kitchen is great for cooking and entertaining. great beach access also could run back to the house if you forget something!
Our family had a great stay at hall hacienda. It was spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy our family vacation at the beach. We have two small children in our family so having the toys inside the house and for the beach helped A LOT! Also liked that they had baby gates we could put up around the stairs. This is the perfect vaction home if you have small children! I'd recommend staying here to anyone!
We had a great time at Hacienda Hall. The house was exactly as described and perfect for out fa,ily.the owners provided everything we needed to make our beach vacation perfect. Close the the beach and walking distance to everything. I would gladly stay here again. One of our BEsT family vacations.
This house lives large. We came with two families and a total of four teenagers. They had plenty of space to themselves -- with the best part of keeping the house clean being the outdoor shower. Every room feels new and has plenty of sunlight. It is also right on the main road, so getting to activities at the lake (movie night, fireworks) and to the board walk (Britts donuts, carnival rides, shops) and the grocery stores (the wonderful Veggie Wagon and drivable Food Lion) is easily accessible. The aquarium was a reasonable roundtrip 9 mile bike ride. We were all in love with how comfortable and spacious this place is -- so nice to be able to share our beach vacation with extended family and not feel cramped!! I would definitely stay here again.
Things to think on that do not affect my review of this home but are nice to know before you go:
I would say be sure to do anything you can to bring your own bikes. My sister in law doesn't have a bike rack so she couldn't bring hers. Really only two of the four bikes were rideable -- I had hoped we'd have family bike outings, but that just couldn't happen.
Be prepared: the coffee maker is traditional, not keurig, and the small grill takes propane tanks (which seem to use up quickly). Propane was very expensive on nearby stores. Be sure to have condiments such as salt and pepper etc., they may or may not be available. We also bought ice and jugs of water as the island water tasted odd to us.
Not only was this our first family vacation, but it was our first visit to Carolina Beach. Everything was amazing, starting off with our entrance into Hacienda Hall. Every room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We felt right at home. The house is centrally located on the Island and provides everything that you need both inside the house as well as outside. We over packed as we just did not know what to expect. Our family consists of all ages from a five month old infant to Seniors and everything anyone needed was right at our fingertips. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I highly recommend this location. We will be back.
My family and I just returned from Carolina Beach where we stayed at Hall Hacienda. It was beautiful, and so very comfortable and inviting -- the owners truly thought of everything! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. There were three full bathrooms, and it was just a very short walk to the beach, very important with a 5 and a 6 year old! We were also able to walk to the Boardwalk (such fun with the kids!)!
The enclosed outdoor shower (complete with hot water) made it so easy to get most of the sand off before entering the house. All of the appliances seemed to be top quality. We found absolutely no problems while staying there.
We highly recommend anyone thinking of going to Carolina Beach to check out Hall Hacienda -- we think you will love it as much as we did!
Carolina Beach is a small community working hard to expand it's welcome as a family vacation spot. The Boardwalk features weekly summer fireworks, regular live entertainment, and an amusement park each summer w/ rides, games, and carnival food.
At the lake you can find the weekly Saturday Farmer's Market, kid friendly outside movies, and paddle-boats. There are sometimes special events, including an annual fundraiser for animal adoption, chowder cook-off, etc..
Walk across the street and throw in a line for surf fishing (license required, pretty cheap) or book an offshore trip from the marina. Stop by one of the tackle shops or the Kure Beach Pier to see what is biting.
You can take your 4-wheel drive on Freeman Park or rent a golf cart and explore the area.
The choice of local restaurants grows each season. The Boardwalk features Britt's Doughnuts (a local favorite!) and several bars, including the Silver Dollar, often w/ live local bands. Food choices range from Seafood, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Southern, Sushi, and sandwiches. A quick drive to Wilmington will give even more options, including some excellent 'foodie' selections. We LOVE to eat and can give some great suggestions! (Local Seafood restaurants good for fried, OK for other, but for the best choices head into town.)
Take the quick drive to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, Historic Downtown Wilmington, Jungle Rapids Waterpark, Ride the Riverboat, or see see one of multiple local live theater groups. You might even notice some locations from 'Hollywood East,' home of TV shows Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Revolution, Under the Dome, the pilot for Revenge, Sleepy Hollow, and IRON MAN 3. You might run into a 'Star' at dinner or even in the grocery store.
Have a great stay!!
