We had a good vacation with our friends.
Good size for a large group. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room for meals together, and space to spend quiet time if needed.
Difficult to find. The location was fine, but after a heavy rain the drive was rough and needed repair. We did not receive clear instructions for operating the appliances.
Easy to get to other cities and sights from this location.
Nearby Events or Locales:
St. Remy was within walking distance along a small canal path. Otherwise, it was a fairly long walk if going by the local roads.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are several good restaurants in the area, though I would suggest making reservations if going for dinner. We really enjoyed dinner at L'Industrie.
One of our group was able to find it using GPS. We tried to follow the directions on the information sheet and got hopelessly lost. We got more directions at the Tourist Information office that were clearer than the written ones we had.
Check In Out:
When some of our party arrived (in the middle of a downpour) they called the number for the manager, who only spoke French. She arrived with keys and tried to convey information, but was unable to communicate use of appliances. Check-out time was listed as 10:00 AM, but no one arrived until quite a bit later. We had made train reservations based on the time we'd been quoted, so were afraid we'd have to leave without any sort of check-out procedure. A definitive time would have helped.
