The sparkling seas and spectacular sunsets on this beautiful island can be enjoyed from the deck of this Tree House. If you want to sample the crystal clear waters take a swim from the dock right out your front door, or enjoy a book while listening to the waves lap against the shore. If the sun gets to be too much close the doors and enjoy the fans in each room or the central air.

We spent a fabulous week in this little piece of paradise. It couldn't have been a cuter place and the deck on the water is to die for. We rented a boat for our stay and did lots of snorkeling, fishing, exploring and picnics. The little town of New Plymouth is adorable and there's no reason to go anywhere else. Donnie's Boat Rental was great. Ronnie Sawyer the local bonefish guide is excellent and the Green Turtle Club is a lovely place for dinner. We will definitely be back. Thanks Sherry too for all your help. Everything way exceeded our expectations.
We completely enjoyed our stay at the Tree House! Sherry is a wonderful hostess and was very easy to work with. We have spent time on other islands in the Bahamas and Caribbean, but found the people of Green Turtle Cay to be the most welcoming, wonderful and hospitable people you could ask for. From getting a taxi from Marsh Harbor to leaving on the Ferry at the dock by the Tree House, we couldn't asked for a nicer group of people of spend time with. We met many locals on the islands, who made up feel immediately at home.
The house itself is quite comfortable and equipped with everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. We smartly enlisted the help of Angel, with "As you wish" (check it out on FB) to stock our house with all of our supplies and found everything in perfect order when we arrived. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! It started our trip out without the stress of grocery shopping and it was worth it!!
Vernal had the golf cart at the dock in White Dock and checked us in the house with an explanation of what we needed for our stay.
We loved meeting all the locals and thanks to all of you for making our trip so special. We never make a return trip to the islands we visit, as there are so many places to visit! However, we will make an exception and plan a return trip very soon....As I told my husband on our way home, I believe we have found our "spot"....
After searching VRBO for a Green Turtle Key rental, we decided on the Coconut Tree House. This proved to be a perfect choice as it is a little slice of heaven. Nestled in between coconut palms this rental provides privacy, water access and beautiful views overlooking the Sea of Abaco. It is exceptionally clean and well cared for with all the essentials one would expect.
I've explored a host of islands from Harbour Island to Barbados and while I do not consider myself an “island expert” (not sure if there is an obtainable degree for this but I could make a career out of it) I feel safe to say that the chain of Abaco Islands or Cays (keys), wins hands down for excellent harbors, hospitable settlements, the friendliest locals, waters among the world’s most clearest and most colorful, and all encompassed by the prettiest crescent beaches I have ever seen.
First, though, I need to let you know that this string of cays is absolutely, positively, and definitely not for everyone. Avoid these outer Bahamian islands at all costs if your personal definition of an ideal island vacation includes rubbing elbows with crowds of people, hanging out in a senses-numbing club 'till 4AM with hundreds of like-minded tourists, American-style fast food, neon-lit casinos, and high-rise hotels serving 24-hour room service and packaged tours. Furthermore, if you are easily upset by people who don't see time as an important governing element of their lives, you should not ponder this destination. Clock-watching here will basically cause anxiety attacks, vacation experiences will not be brought to you, and meals will take longer than 20 minutes to order and consume.
If you still find yourself reading this, then you are a true island lover who defines a vacation as leisurely seeking out a new experience or two, quietly exploring the uninhabited, and truly making your own vacation happen. You embrace a simple, uncomplicated lifestyle and therefore will understand why I, at a very slow pace…feel in love with Green Turtle Cay (GTC) in The Abacos.
We opted to stay at Sherry's "Coco Nut Treehouse" for many reasons...location-tucked away, private, and peaceful...accommodations- ( if you are seeking "hotel" like room and service make arrangements elsewhere...this was a true, unpretentious island home-clean, neat, and simple...amenities-there was nothing that we needed that was not provided...simplicity with an artistic flair- a mini oasis where natural artistry is evident throughout...as an artist this was very appealing to me...hospitality-genuine and caring, she provided me with all sorts of local information and went above and beyond to make sure that any issues, concerns, etc...were taken care both before and during our stay. Thank you Sherry! Thank you Green Turtle Cay...memories forever embedded in my mind.
I just returned from a fishing trip at this location, and boy did we have a good time. The view and location is great. The fishing is on fire. It was great to have the dock on the Sea of Abaco side for loading and unloading. Pretty property. I love the Abacos!
Overall- Decent place for the price. Uncomfortable beds, bugs, one room without A/C (no fan- hot). Pots, pans, dishes, cooler, some fishing-snorkeling gear, floaties, washer-dryer, & grill. Beautiful location but dangerous if small children. Close to restaurant, beach, and docks. Secluded. Snorkeling area right off dock. Boat dock to utilize. Neat floating dock. Place has quaint decor, too. Sherry was easy to work with & friendly! Vernal was available for any problems. Green Turtle Cay is beautiful, quiet, and delightful!
A perfect get away from the hustle, bustle of your daily routine. A quiet, secluded place to enjoy beach walks, a great book, and nature...right out your front door.
