Porto de Mos apartment review
We, a couple with 5-year old daughter, spent 10 days in this lovely holiday apartment in July 2010. Everything worked very well from the first contact to the owner. Apartment is defenitely 5 star standard with facilities on site and cleanliness both in the apartment and pool area. Local beach is in walking distance and is very nice and suitable for children as well. Lagos town is close enough with good restaurants, but far enough to be able to enjoy quiet evenings in the apartment. Would recommend a rental car; easy to get around, shopping etc and there is secure parking in the apartment. There are still quite a bit of building work in Porto de Mos area but it did not bother us. We really enjoyed our stay and might come back at some stage.
Porto de Mos holiday apartment
Just back from 1 weeks holiday in this fabulous luxurious apartment and I have to say that this is the best apartment that we have ever stayed in. It is a modern and spacious apartment that has everything you could possibly need, lovely kitchen, large bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. Air conditioning was a great bonus. Large balcony, full width of apartment. Lovely pool and paved area scrupulously clean.
On arrival we were greeted by the apartments rep (Nina) who was really friendly and extremely helpful, she showed us all around the apartment and recommended to us places to eat in Lagos.
A short stroll away from the long sandy beach of “Porto De Mos” . At the beach a lovely restaurant called “Antonio” serves good food which is reasonably priced if you don’t wish to cook.
I would fully advise hiring a car, it makes life so much easier for getting to the supermarket and sightseeing. All you have to do is pick it up at the airport on arrival and leave it back at the airport when your going home. (Cheaper than using taxis)
The only down side to the holiday was packing up to come home. We are already saving to come back next year, hopefully for 2 weeks .
Review of our Holiday in Porto de Mos
My husband and I stayed in this fantastic apartment for two weeks in June and could not fault the sheer luxury that awaited us on arrival. Everything was there that we needed and we found the air conditioning very welcome. The local representative was very helpful and was on hand to answer any queries that we had. There is a beautiful pool area with sun beds (but no sun shades) and the beach is only five minutes walk away where there is an excellent restaurant overlooking the lovely beach. Our only disappointments were the restricted sea view from our balcony due to some new villas being built opposite and another apartment block infront of this one, and the amount of building work still going on adjacent to the apartment which we were not aware of that got quite noisy and dusty at times. However this did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the holiday. I would recommend that a car is needed as Lagos is quite a long walk from the apartment. Lagos is a lovely old town where there are many excellent restaurants to choose from. We would come back here again when all the building work is complete.

Porto de Mos is beautiful beach location on the outskirts of Lagos town. The beach is only a five minute walk down a stepped hill from the apartment where you can also find 2 lovely beach front resturants. Porto de Mos also provides you with the pefect location for long walks across the cliff tops over the coast line. In additon to this you are located close to some of Euope's finest golf courses, namely Boa Vista & Palmerias. The location allows for a quite break as well as having the option of Lagos town where you will find many historical points of interest in and around the old town walls as well as numerous restaurants and bistros peppered throughout the town. Heading west of Mos will take you to many other beach resorts until you reach the furthest point Sagres which is well worth the 45min trip. The castle grounds provide a tremendous backdrop over the coast line and the surrounding town provides you with a great variety of smalls bars and restaurants to enjoy.
