Perfect place to stay in Kona. Beautiful coffee plantation overlooking the island!

  • 5 of 5

Su was absolutely the best host we have ever experienced! He made sure our stay was comfortable and was always able to reach easily with questions. The house was very roomy with plenty of space for my family. Every morning we would wake up and watch the sunrise from the lanai with a cup of Konasu coffee that came straight from the plantation we were overlooking. The kitchen was large with everything you needed to cook your whole stay if you wanted to- spices, oils, pots and a large range. The houses in Kona don't have AC and at Su's house there is no need for it! We had all the windows wide open during the day and it was always comfortable. Up the mountain it's cool at night and felt perfect with the windows closed. We could not have found a more perfect place to stay and highly recommend it if you are looking to visit the big island!

Beautiful property

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 12 spent 10 days at this property in July 2016. It is quiet, secluded, and very well taken care of. There are many helpful stock items like laundry soap, shower soap and shampoo, spices, lotions, bug spray etc provided which was greated appreciated. We had the unexpected bonus of having Kona raised coffee beans provided during our stay and it was delicious. This was a wet year for Kona and consequently we had mosquitos in the higher elevation, but we survived and were glad that the temperatures were cooler than the lowlands by the beach. It would have been ideal to have two bathrooms downstairs as that is where two of the bedrooms + the kids romper room was located so there was less bathroom space on the lower floor and that was a little uncomfortable for our crew. The upstairs 2 master suite bedrooms were very spacious, private, and luxurious. It is remote in the feel of the location but very close to the city and the beach, we loved our stay. The owners were very easy to deal with and their on site property manage Gayle, was a God-send, she was quick, efficient, and had solutions and information to all our questions. She brought over smoked Marlin one night and we all loved that for an appetizer. Great stay.

Excellent location! 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes to local shopping (Costco, Walmart, Safeway, etc), and central to many tourist attractions. The house was wonderful. The private and relaxing setting of the coffee farm made us feel far from town, though only minutes away. Tropical views from every window, and a beautiful large covered deck looking out to the Pacific- perfect for viewing the evening sunsets.

The coffee farm was amazing! The house was even more amazing. It was spacious, with windows everywhere! There was a view at every window. Downstairs you can see lush tropical gardens, and upstairs you get a view of the Pacific! Both up and downstairs have incredible porches with the coolest reclining chairs. Napping out there is a must, it's so peaceful. The kitchen was wonderful, with every appliance one could ever need, and for the nights where we didn't feel like cooking, we were only 10 minutes from town. As well as the airport, and since we arrived at 9 pm we were glad it was so close. In fact you can see the airplanes take off and it really is cool. The property was very well maintained, and had so many fruit, and avacodo trees. Must try the avacodo, so thick and creamy. Unlike any avo I have ever eaten!! The property also had all the beach gear you will need. Umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs, hiking poles, body boards, snorkel gear, fins, etc. it was perfect because you're probably not going to be able to take that all on the plane with you, and who wants to buy all that in Hawaii and then have to leave it? it was soooo quiet and peaceful at night with just as amazing a view on Mauna Kea. I love how close it was to so much! But at the end of the day you got to go out to your own private coffee farm. We are already planning our next trip back to Hawaii and we will definitely be staying at Hale Karma!!

Dream plantation with amazing view.

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed the sunset from the lanai overlooking the vast coffee field where I have never seen before.. The view is magical and unique everyday.. The location of the house is rural and quiet yet so conveniently close to everything that we want to go and do... Golfing, shopping, hiking, swimming just minutes drive down to the roads. The house, oh the villa, is modern, clean and comfortable.. A well equiped kitchen to cook for my family and a grand dinning room overlooking the sunrises and sunsets while we are eating our meals everyday..

Coming from Hong Kong with the busy and city life, this coffee plantation villa is a paradise of nature and peace. My mom really enjoys and thanks me for bringing her here with the family vacation. Thank you for sharing your paradise with our family, we had a wonderful experience and will spread the word about this amazing place with our friends, and for sure coming back again to stay..

Louis and family..
