Privately owned detached villa sleeps 2 - 7. Close to Es Castell and Mahon.

This lovely privately owned detached Menorca (Minorca) holiday villa with private pool is situated in the peaceful village of Son Vilar on the outskirts of Es Castell (fishing village) and Mahon (capital), so amenities are close by and also just a short drive to gorgeous beaches.

The villa is registered and has passed the scrutiny of the Menorca tourist board.

Sleeps 2 - 7 in three air conditioned bedrooms (cool or heat).

This stunning villa has a large terrace with barbecue, a smaller shady terrace, and a further patio, all with tables, chairs, and plenty of sun loungers.

It is nicely furnished, fully equipped (including Satellite TV and free high speed broadband Wi-Fi internet connection), superbly cleaned and serviced weekly with fresh linen by my local manager (who is easily contactable if you encounter any problems).

The private pool, which has Roman Steps, is serviced twice weekly by a local specialist manager.

Over 60% of my visitors are returning tenants - which speaks for itself!

Why Ian and Catherine Perry chose Es Castell

Fell in love with Menorca many years ago, and Es Castell is an ideal base for a holiday on the island. Lots of restaurants, bars, and amenities on your doorstep, yet only a short drive to some gorgeous beaches.

What makes this villa unique

The villa is peaceful and secluded with a lovely private pool (with user friendly Roman Steps), Barbeque and dining areas, large and small terraces, and a further patio adjoining the lounge.

Mahon and Es Castell adjoining the village, so lots of amenities close by.

Most of my bookings are returning tenants.... which speaks for itself!

This was our third visit to this lovely villa and we will be definitely returning again next year. So what makes this particular villa very special? Firstly, its location is ideal. It is located in a small quiet village on the east side of the island, close to the capital Mahon and within walking distance of the lovely town of Es Castell. Both Mahon and Es Castell offer very good eating places - the harbour front at Mahon has a promenade of restaurants of all types – whilst in Es Castell and nearby Cala Font /Cala Cobb you can find some lovely typical Spanish eateries. The villa is situated in a quiet residential area, surrounded by other Spanish and some English residents . You live here as the Spanish do, within their community as opposed to being within a holiday complex with other holiday makers. There is a good supermarket in the village along with a local bar and chemist. What however makes this villa so special is the owner’s attention to detail both inside and outside. Inside it is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday and even, if needed, DVD’s and satellite television in English. The kitchen is well stocked and the welcome pack is considerable. The villa is very clean and is well maintained. Outside, within its own walled garden with its own private driveway is the lovely pool, designed with roman steps which make getting in or out much easier. This makes it ideal for both young and old, and when the weather is very hot allows you sit in the pool with a glass on the side – so relaxing and a perfect way to cool down!!! The well stocked garden is visited by a local gardener and the pool is regularly maintained. The veranda is a lovely place to be during the evening to just sit and relax with a glass or two. Admittedly you don’t have a view of the sea, but be assured you have the peace and quiet which more than makes up for the lack of view. We feel that a car is essential whilst staying at this villa though it is only a short walk to the bus route into Mahon.

Our holiday in Menorca

This was our 2nd stay at this lovely, well maintained villa. It has everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. We spent our mornings visiting various places on the island and our afternoons in or around the pool. In the evenings, we went down to Es Castell and ate in the many restaurants along the beautiful and picturesque harbour. Having visited the island many times, we will definitely be returning next year and hope to stay again in this villa. Sara and Steve Fell

A brilliant wonderful villa that has everything.

We had a fantastic family holiday, 3 generations and not one argument, did not want to home, can't wait to do it again next year. The owner has certainly done his homework on the restaurants, bars and beaches on the island. Couldn't be more helpful.

Amazing villa and location

Our 7th/8th visit to this amazing villa (second this year!) and we'll be back next year. So why so special? Firstly, its location – located in a small quiet village close to the capital Mahon and within walking distance of both Mahon and the lovely town of Es Castell. Son Vilar has a small shop called La Boliga which stocks everyday food - good for fresh fruit and sandwiches. Plus it’s very close to the Bar Horizonte which this year has ‘gone up market’ with decking and tables/chairs at the front. The G and T’s are the best plus the owner kept bringing out delicious tapas (free!)– it had the desired effect and we just had to stay longer and had a second G & T before we meandered back to the villa!! Both Mahon and Es Castell offer very good eating places - the harbour front at Mahon has a promenade of restaurants of all types – whilst in Es Castell and nearby Cala Font /Cala Cobb you can find some lovely typical Spanish eateries. The villa is in a quiet residential area, surrounded by mainly Spanish and a few English residents. You live here as the Spanish do, within their community as opposed to being within a holiday complex with other holiday makers. It’s the owner’s attention which makes this villa so special both inside and outside. Inside it is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday including DVD’s and satellite television in English, though at the moment channels are limited – but you’re on holiday not on this beautiful island to watch television!!!. The kitchen is well stocked and the welcome pack is considerable. New kitchen appliances installed last year – fridge/freezer, hob/oven, etc – well done to the owner for ensuring that standards are maintained. The villa is very clean and is well maintained throughout. Outside, within its well kept gardens, is the lovely pool, designed with roman steps which make getting in or out much easier - and allows you sit in the pool with a glass on the side – so relaxing and a perfect way to cool down in the heat!!! The well stocked garden is visited by a local gardener and the pool is regularly maintained. The terrace is a lovely place to be during the evening to just sit and relax with a glass or two. Admittedly you don’t have a view of the of the sea, but be assured you have the peace and quiet which more than makes up for the lack of sea view. We feel that a car is essential at this villa though it’s only a short walk to the bus route into Mahon or one bus stop to Es Castell.

Lovely villa in excellent location.

Lovely villa, well equipped and in great location for local amenities, restaurants, bars etc. Fabulous communication and support from the owner. Much appreciated welcome pack on arrival with all the necessities including bottles of red and white wine! Owner also sent an incredibly comprehensive information pack prior to our departure from the UK with every type of information you would ever need for your holiday in Menorca. We would definitely book again if we were to return to Menorca, although we wouldn't come as early in the year again as many local restaurants weren't yet open due to it being low season.

Owner's Response: So pleased you all had a good time in the villa and on Menorca. Normally all the local restaurants and bars are open well before Easter, but this year some were late opening. Not sure why this year except that "seasonal" contracts are now enforced for waiters... and the new tax year started just as you were leaving ! You will be most welcome should you wish to stay in the villa in the future, and as you know returning tenants are given a discount. Ian (owner).

Good energy

Very nice spot, very quite and on walking distance of Mahon. Good energy. There was more than we expected, like diving gear, toys for the children, even a cooling bag which was very handy on the beach. Nice welcome pack.

We definitely come back.

Es Castell, Menorca (Minorca), is just 1Km from the villa and has plenty to offer its residents and visitors alike in the way of shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. There are market days twice a week, and the town has its own annual fiesta, the Fiesta de San Jaume, at the end of July. Many of the bars and restaurants are situated around the two coves, Cala Corb, and more especially Cales Fonts, and many are in converted caves around the harbour - a superb atmospheric setting. Many of these caves were believed to have been carved out by the earliest inhabitants around 2500 BC.

Mahon, the Capital of Minorca (Menorca), is equally close to the villa (1Km), and has a more extensive range of shops, bars, restaurants, and a vast range of amenities.

Menorca (Minorca) is famous for its gorgeous unspoilt beaches (even in August!), and many can be reached in just a short drive from the villa.

Golf: Son Parc Golf Course is about a 25min drive.
