About John and Pamela Christmas

JOHN - I'm born and raised in Memphis. I am a musician, singer/songwriter, audio producer. I also build recording studios through out the country. I enjoy motorcycle riding, concerts, hiking and cycling. I am a vegan and love to cook and garden.

PAM - We are new the vacation rental community and we are excited to meet our guests! I am originally from Liberty, Missouri. I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. John and I lived happily in this home for 7 years then decided to turn it into rental property. We rented it for years but this year we decided to change it to a vacation rental.

John and Pamela Christmas purchased this house in 2002

Our updated and remodeled home was the original farmhouse and the neighborhood was the farm. Over time the farmer sold off parts of his land and the neighborhood built up around it. Several of the homes in the neighborhood are on large pieces of land (2 acres to the left of us and two acres across the street from us) and many other of the houses are just normal neighborhood home. You get a nice mix of country and suburbs in our neighborhood. We are right down the street from Shelby Farms which is a huge park.

Southern Hospitality at its Finest

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely, clean, well kept home! The renovations (kitchen is really nice) really bring this home up to date, while keeping its charm from an older time (beautiful hardwood floors). When you are here, you feel far away from the bustle of the city, but you are literally two minutes from the interstate (I-40), so you have great access to all the area has to offer.

Don't let the picture of that empty breakfast bar fool you, it and the rest of the kitchen will be stocked with lots of choices for breakfast and/or snacks. And Mr. Christmas is an excellent host. He will meet you at check-in and show you the property and answer any questions you may have. Take some time to get to know him, he is a really neat guy. I only wish I had more time to just visit with him.

I haven't stayed at many VRBO properties, but I must say out of those few, this is my favorite. I recommend it, definitely.

Amazing house and attached suite for our group of six

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely wonderful hospitality was shown to us and the stocked kitchen was very welcoming, especially the fresh fruit basket. Location made it easy to find our way around the area. We felt safe and comfortable. John & Pam are superb hosts. Just sorry we didn't get to meet Pam.

Quiet oasis

  • 4 of 5

What a treat! Breakfast fixings available and excellent recommendations for dinner and entertainment made by Mr. Christmas; thank you! Our goal was Graceland and after a busy day there we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere at this lovely house. One night substantial rain storm rolled through and we didn't hear a thing! Thanks again for your hospitality.

Great Day in Memphis

John was so easy to work with during our brief stay in Memphis. He left us fresh fruit, cereal choices, milk and juice as well as coffee and coffee filters. Awesome Southern Hospitality!

Great place with lots of charm!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights and I would highly recommend staying here. The kitchen is full service, there is a washer and dryer, wifi, and it's a good location if you need to go downtown to Memphis or elsewhere. John met us at checkin and was very kind and gracious and even wished us safe travels when we left at 7am. The beds a comfortable, which was the biggest plus for me personally.

This is a beautiful, well kept home. If you visit Memphis, stay here!

  • 5 of 5

The owners were easy to work with and John greeted us at the property and showed us around the first night we were there and both were available via cell phone if anything came up. The property is just as described and close to everything of interest. Uber is well established in this location and affordable due to the proximity to many attractions. John and Pam's home is withing walking distance of a gorgeous park and they have a nice, safe and private back yard that was nice as we had a little one with us. The home was stocked with basic meal prep items, fresh fruit and everything we needed to make breakfast the next morning. We rented both spaces as our party was large and both rentals were as advertised.

I would highly recommend any traveler choose this rental. It just felt like home the minute we walked in. There are several convenience stores and small grocers within walking distance. The neighborhood was safe for morning jogs and fellow residents were very friendly. Nobody wanted to leave. This was my fifth visit to Memphis and first time using HomeAway, but I will never stay in a hotel again.
