It sleeps up to four people (it has 2 full size beds in it) and has an additional bathroom. It doesn't have a kitchen but it has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and small counter top to make sandwiches and things like that.

About John and Pamela Christmas

JOHN - I'm born and raised in Memphis. I am a musician, singer/songwriter, audio producer. I also build recording studios through out the country. I enjoy motorcycle riding, concerts, hiking and cycling. I am a vegan and love to cook and garden.

PAM - We are new the vacation rental community and we are excited to meet our guests! I am originally from Liberty, Missouri. I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. John and I lived happily in this home for 7 years then decided to turn it into rental property. We rented it for years but this year we decided to change it to a vacation rental.

John and Pamela Christmas purchased this house in 2002

Notes:
Our updated and remodeled home was the original farmhouse and the neighborhood was the farm. Over time the farmer sold off parts of his land and the neighborhood built up around it. Several of the homes in the neighborhood are on large pieces of land (2 acres to the left of us and two acres across the street from us) and many other of the houses are just normal neighborhood home. You get a nice mix of country and suburbs in our neighborhood. We are right down the street from Shelby Farms which is a huge park.

Great Day in Memphis

John was so easy to work with during our brief stay in Memphis. He left us fresh fruit, cereal choices, milk and juice as well as coffee and coffee filters. Awesome Southern Hospitality!

Great place with lots of charm!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights and I would highly recommend staying here. The kitchen is full service, there is a washer and dryer, wifi, and it's a good location if you need to go downtown to Memphis or elsewhere. John met us at checkin and was very kind and gracious and even wished us safe travels when we left at 7am. The beds a comfortable, which was the biggest plus for me personally.

This is a beautiful, well kept home. If you visit Memphis, stay here!

The owners were easy to work with and John greeted us at the property and showed us around the first night we were there and both were available via cell phone if anything came up. The property is just as described and close to everything of interest. Uber is well established in this location and affordable due to the proximity to many attractions. John and Pam's home is withing walking distance of a gorgeous park and they have a nice, safe and private back yard that was nice as we had a little one with us. The home was stocked with basic meal prep items, fresh fruit and everything we needed to make breakfast the next morning. We rented both spaces as our party was large and both rentals were as advertised.

I would highly recommend any traveler choose this rental. It just felt like home the minute we walked in. There are several convenience stores and small grocers within walking distance. The neighborhood was safe for morning jogs and fellow residents were very friendly. Nobody wanted to leave. This was my fifth visit to Memphis and first time using HomeAway, but I will never stay in a hotel again.

I loved this house. John was such a gracious host. The house was clean, comfortable and a fully stocked kitchen. The fresh fruit was a very nice touch. The house was perfect for the three of us. I would highly recommend this property for a visit to Memphis!

Truly a home away.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and sister and I stayed 4 days at John and Pamela's while our other sister was a patient at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The location was very convenient to the hospital, as well as restaurants, shopping, etc. We found the Blue Plate Cafe on Poplar and had an excellent breakfast. There is a new Walmart conveniently nearby for grocery shopping.

The property was very clean and well maintained and had everything we needed. John was very welcoming. One night we inadvertently left a car window open. John woke us that morning to let us know it was going to rain and when my husband went out to close the window, John was holding a towel or blanket over the window to keep out the rain that had just started. He went above and beyond.

We are so glad we stayed here rather than a hotel. It was very quiet and private and we enjoyed all the comforts of home. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this property.
