Our four-night stay at the Vine Cottage was a wonderful experience.

  • 5 of 5

Our four-night stay at the Vine Cottage was a wonderful experience. We were searching for just the right place to bring our family from England. And boy, did we find the right place! We had beautiful mountain views, excellent accommodations, and fantastic hosts. Chris and Cliff made our stay extra special. The cottage is a spacious five-bedroom house with all the amenities of home. It came with comfortable beds, towels, linens, snacks, and a fully equipped kitchen. Besides the Natural Bridge and the quaint town of Lexington, there is a lot to see and do up and down Interstate 81. As an added treat, Cliff gave us an informative tour of the historic mansion that they are restoring back to the glorious charm of the early 1900’s. They are currently operating it as a B&B and a special event venue. It is worth seeing. So, not only do we recommend you book the Vine cottage for your next family or friends’ gathering, but that you also check into Chris and Cliff’s B&B for your next romantic getaway. The Forest Oaks Estate is a wonderful place to stay for any reason.

A great women's weekend

  • 5 of 5

Eight of us had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. It is equipped with everything we needed - a beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds and luxury linens. The tour of the historic mansion on the property was a great treat. The owners are doing a fabulous job of restoring this very interesting and beautiful property. The views are magnificent! The horses are beautiful. Natural Bridge is truly a wonder ! We also enjoyed the antique stores in the area and the wildlife around Pine Cottage. Baby cardinals were in a nest right next to the porch! The owners were wonderfully helpful. We will definitely go back.

Beautiful setting. The house is so inviting with lots of windows, lovely furnishings.

  • 5 of 5

There were so many small touches that made our stay so nice. Breakfast bars, tea and coffee, bottles of water. Cliff and Chris made us feel so welcome.

The house is decorated beautifully, and

is very inviting. Beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. This was a great place to have our family gathering. We all agreed we would love to return.

Absolutely the best!

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing "cottage". There was plenty of room inside for our party of 10-each of the five bedrooms was decorated exquisitely, plenty of linens available. Everything was super CLEAN! Cliff and Chris are "hands on" hosts, eager to keep us supplied with necessities, yet never intrusive of our space. The grounds have stately trees and beautiful views. Kitchen met all our needs for family of ten. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rental. We were in Virginia to attend our sons wedding, and rather than stay in separate hotels, I wanted our family and cousins to all be together under one roof, as we rarely see each other - VINE COTTAGE was perfect.

A truly amazing property

  • 5 of 5

This is absolutely a property you don't want to pass up on !!!!! The photos ,though good, can't possibly capture the beauty of this home. Our group, in town for a V.M.I. graduation could not have been more pleased. Beautifully restored, this home has everything. It is fully equipped with all the modern appliances while maintaining it's rich history with gorgeous hardwood floors and antique furniture. The owners provide you with everything you could possible need and are very willing to go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Where can you find that these days ???. My only regret is that I didn't find this gem until our final visit to V.M.I. Do not hesitate !!! You will love this one.

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Vine Cottage made the trip go from good to amazing! The house is beautifully decorated. Little details were not overlooked from water in the fridge, to coffee/tea/snacks on the kitchen counter to plenty of linens, blankets, toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, tissues, etc.) ... even a Keurig with coffee pods. Outside there is a fire pit which was stocked with wood so that we could cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows. Not only the six adults, but also the three children (ages 10, 11, and 12) loved staying here. The children didn't want to leave. There was ample room for everyone to have space to do what they wanted ... read a book (and there's plenty to choose from), watch Netflix, or play on the computer (WiFi). Then to put the icing on the cake, Cliff gave us a tour of the historic mansion along with sharing his immense knowledge of this historical site. This is not a house to miss, and one that we want to return to again!!
