Absolutely the best!

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing "cottage". There was plenty of room inside for our party of 10-each of the five bedrooms was decorated exquisitely, plenty of linens available. Everything was super CLEAN! Cliff and Chris are "hands on" hosts, eager to keep us supplied with necessities, yet never intrusive of our space. The grounds have stately trees and beautiful views. Kitchen met all our needs for family of ten. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rental. We were in Virginia to attend our sons wedding, and rather than stay in separate hotels, I wanted our family and cousins to all be together under one roof, as we rarely see each other - VINE COTTAGE was perfect.

A truly amazing property

  • 5 of 5

This is absolutely a property you don't want to pass up on !!!!! The photos ,though good, can't possibly capture the beauty of this home. Our group, in town for a V.M.I. graduation could not have been more pleased. Beautifully restored, this home has everything. It is fully equipped with all the modern appliances while maintaining it's rich history with gorgeous hardwood floors and antique furniture. The owners provide you with everything you could possible need and are very willing to go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Where can you find that these days ???. My only regret is that I didn't find this gem until our final visit to V.M.I. Do not hesitate !!! You will love this one.

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Vine Cottage made the trip go from good to amazing! The house is beautifully decorated. Little details were not overlooked from water in the fridge, to coffee/tea/snacks on the kitchen counter to plenty of linens, blankets, toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, tissues, etc.) ... even a Keurig with coffee pods. Outside there is a fire pit which was stocked with wood so that we could cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows. Not only the six adults, but also the three children (ages 10, 11, and 12) loved staying here. The children didn't want to leave. There was ample room for everyone to have space to do what they wanted ... read a book (and there's plenty to choose from), watch Netflix, or play on the computer (WiFi). Then to put the icing on the cake, Cliff gave us a tour of the historic mansion along with sharing his immense knowledge of this historical site. This is not a house to miss, and one that we want to return to again!!

A relaxing fun reunion

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of high school friends who gather for a long weekend periodically. Vine Cottage was the perfect place for our latest reunion. The Cottage is spacious and has been beautifully renovated and decorated. It is on a large and gorgeous property with great mountain views. The screened in porch is so inviting and comfortable. Chris and Cliff are gracious hosts and always available. We really enjoyed Lexington, which is an easy 15 minute drive.

Amazing house!

  • 5 of 5

My group of 10 people enjoyed the house during their 8 night stay. It's clean and well equipped. The front porch is absolutely amazing, we passed the most of our time there relaxing after a bike ride. The kitchen is perfect. The owner is friendly, we even invited him for dinner... To cut it short, we had a great time at the cottage. Thank you Cliff. Max

Stunning In All Ways as Always!

  • 5 of 5

We’re back and very glad for it!

Last fall we held our personal growth retreat here at Vine Cottage with rave reviews from our participants, and the same was true this spring. We absolutely love being here! The inside of the cottage is so beautiful and comfortable making it an excellent place for meetings in the living room and eating together around the dining room table. With the spaciousness of the place, our participants were also able to have time for themselves - enjoying their bedrooms, walking on the grounds, doing mindful stretching with a not-to-be-beat view of the Blue Ridge, and sitting around the camp fire under the stars.

Thank you Cliff and Chris for all you do to make our stay so inviting and easy! We appreciate your kindnesses.

We will be back! See you in September.
