A Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely love this condo. It is located at Rum Point. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. Staying at Rum Point is like being on and Island on an Island. Very quite place to stay. I enjoyed my early morning walks on the beach and on the docks. Took the kayak and bikes out every day. The view for the condo is absolutely breath taking. Star fish point was beautiful. If your looking for a great place to stay stay in 7-UP you won't be disappointed.

An amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this property. It was a gorgeous location, and a beautiful property. It was incredibly clean, and well equipped. The beds, even the sofa bed, were very comfortable.

We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony at all times of day, and enjoyed the live music from the yacht club next door, which finished promptly at 9pm, so no problems with being kept awake!

We enjoyed kayaking and cycling up to Star Fish point (kayak and 2 cycles provided) and snorkeling to see the star fish, and occasional sting ray there. Also great snorkeling at Rum Point, (we found it best to the right of the jetty, around the reef, and also with the barracuda who seems to live under the jetty), and Spotts beach, on the south coast where there are turtles.

We can wholeheartedly confirm the earlier, glowing reviews, this really is as good as the pictures show. If we ever come back to Grand Cayman (it's a long way from the UK), then we would definitely want to stay here again.

Exceptional stay!

  • 5 of 5

We are seasoned travelers and always prefer to rent condos or homes while vacationing. This was one of the best overall places we have stayed. It was one of, if not, the cleanest condo we have ever stayed at. From the timely response to inquire about booking, cleanliness, to the location of the quiet beautiful area of the Kaibo Yacht Club, beautiful views from the condo (plantation shutters that can be opened widely for an unobstructed view from the master, equipped kitchen, use of a kayak and bikes, and extremely reasonable rates this stay is exceptional. I would give it six stars if I could! We traveled with two adults and three college students and had plenty of room. The Kaibo Yacht club grill/restaurant had just enough action (live music, dancing on some nights) to satisfy us but still make us feel we were not an overly populated area. Starfish Point, a short walk away, really made our trip. We would take an early morning walk, run, or bike ride only to end it at Starfish Point with a secluded, cooling swim with the starfish and resident stingray! Having traveled to most of the islands in the Caribbean, Grand Cayman is one of the nicest and easiest islands to adapt to no matter your traveling experience. For those who would like to experience the unique benefits of diving but don't have the certification, there is great alternative for you through a company called Seafarers Adventurers that offers Snookling. The staff was super friendly, offered great instruction and was extremely patient with those in our party that expressed a little bit of anxiety about this new experience. We will be back...sooner than later!

Perfect oasis!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd stay on Grand Cayman and in this condo, and it was terrific once again! We went down the path of planning to go to another vacation spot this year, but after researching other islands, we decided to come back here again because we loved it so much. The island feels safe, and we find the locals to be friendly, which other vacation spots can't boast. The condo and grounds are as nice as the photos, and the view is unbeatable! We have seen a couple of other condos in both phase 1 and 2 but this is our favorite. The decor in the condo makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed. What we like best about this specific spot is that you can stay in a more secluded area of the island but still get to everything else fairly quickly when you want to. We have checked other locations to stay on the island but no other offers this mixture and all the other benefits that we gain here. The owner keeps the condo well maintained, and the grounds are also well groomed with plenty of beach chairs and an amazing pool area. We like that the condo is on the 2nd level because it provides more privacy. There are always little extras in the condo, so ask the owner before you pack as it may be here already. The condo sits on a protected area of water with a beautiful sand beach that I like to call a "lagoon" because it makes me feel like we're in our own little paradise on the island. We always see gechos and iguanas when we are on the beach, and snorkeling in the lagoon can be interesting also. There are mangroves across the bay to the West that are cool to kayak to (owner has a kayak available). On one side of the complex is a park that is never busy, and on the other side is the Kaibo Beach Bar. The music at the bar is kept at a good level and they shut it down early. Definitely a must to attend the beach BBQ as it is a fun evening. We love their food and atmosphere - you can just walk over as-you-are. The island has beautiful locations for off-shore or boat snorkeling / scuba, there are charters that will pick you up right in front of the restaurant, downtown George Town has a lot to offer, you can swim with dolphins, swim/scuba with stingrays, and the coral reefs and wrecks are awesome! Devil's Grotto, Eden Rock, Turtle Cove, and Rum Point are our favorites. A quick low-cost flight to Cayman Brac has some amazing caves and the bluffs you can self-explore. We are definitely hooked!

Paradise found

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent our honeymoon on Grand Cayman 25 years ago and have always wanted to return so we decided that there was no time like the present. Our 2 daughters happily joined us. What a wonderful getaway! As everyone has previously mentioned, you will want for nothing at 7 Up - Lynn has done an excellent job making sure her guests needs and desires are met. The condo is very comfortable and inviting, just like home. The view we saw when first opening our eyes in the morning is something I will never forget and probably always long to see! Relaxing on the lanai for breakfast or happy hour was a special treat, one we enjoyed every day. We very much enjoyed the beach experience at Rum Point, especially the shade available when the sun was too much (which I never thought I'd say!). We loved walking to Starfish Point (kayaking, too!) and getting to know the namesakes. We took the 7:00 snorkeling trip to Stingray Sandbar right from Kaibo Yacht Club with White Sand Water Sports - highly recommend them!! We were the first boat there and had some private time with the gentle rays, then as much time as we wanted snorkeling at the reef. The whole experience was wonderful, truly a highlight of the trip. Our restaurant experience was just as good - nothing we didn't like. We were very happy to return to our favorite restaurant from 25 years ago, the Lone Star Bar and Grill on SMB, and have a most delicious BBQ dinner - yummy! There were 4 very sad faces on our departure day but hopefully we'll be able turn the frowns upside down on a return trip in the not so distant future. Keep doing what you're doing, Lynn! Loved it!

Loved it from the moment we arrived. It was like home away from home. The condo was nicely decorated and was stocked with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The view from the patio was beautiful and we enjoyed having our coffee out there very morning. We loved the north side of the island as is it was so quiet and quaint. We walked everyday in the area and spent our days at Starfish point swimming and snorkeling then back again in the evenings to watch the beautiful sunsets. Make sure to make a trip to Stingray City and the snorkeling in the coral gardens. We had breakfast and lunch everyday at the condo and went out at night for dinner. Try Over the Edge great food and drinks at reasonable price. Thank you Lynn and we look forward to coming back in the near future
