Here we are with our two beautiful and talented daughters.
We have always dreamed of our own getaway and rented for years. We had ideas of how the experience could be improved and are now giving it a try for ourselves.
Tom & Lynn Piacentini purchased this cabin in 2015
This was a cabin we saw on the first day looking. It had all the cozy charm we were looking for and incredible potential. We fell in love with it immediately!
Off the beaten path but so close to everything. The short gravel road puts you in the middle of the woods where the quite and solitude can be enjoyed.
We appreciated all of the redecorating, the remodeled master bath, and additional furnishings at Birdsong. Last time we stayed the new owners had just purchased the cabin. All of us admired the awesome handmade kitchen table and the new linens and accessories that make the cabin unique. Of course we love the location and the fact that the cabin maintains its rustic charm, yet still provides plenty of comforts too.
We loved everything about Birdsong and look forward to coming back again. It was perfectly appointed and fit our needs in every way. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the mattress was sunken in and made it difficult for me to get comfortable but the cozy room and linens made up for it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful retreat with us!
This was our 2nd visit here and we always feel at home. Tom & Lynn have added every tasteful detail from the new Mstr.Bed & bath, appliances and back splash! Plenty of room and privacy for our sons and their guests. This kitchen is completely stocked with every utensil and coffee maker so there's no need to bring a thing! Beware of the sleeping porch. The comfy bed dotted with decorative pillows, blanket and light overhead will entice you to lose several hours reading, bird watching, daydreaming or just napping after a long day horsebackriding, ziplining, hiking or whitewater rafting. All of which we've done. The restaurants are superb. My favorites being Harvest on Main and Chesters, consider reservations! Please consider Callihans Adventure Trail Rides for calm responsive horses, amazing staff and several trail packages to suit every rider. They are so accommodating to every need. So in love with this house (and Tom & Lynn), this area (oh don't forget the train ride), and the people who work very hard to make this the quaint little town that it is. One last note. Save your pennies, the shopping is a fun way to pass some time. Small boutique shops from clothing, jewelry, fishing rods, outdoor wear to name a few. Must name my favorite is "Owls Nest". Jennifer the owner supports small artists who create the most unique mountain/American Indian jewelry and clothing. If you love sewing/quilting check out Country Stitches. A small adorable renovated home on W.Main houses some of the most beautiful fabrics and Priscilla adds her country charm to everything she touches. Ok, so I'm homesick for my favorite place on Earth so I'm rebooking for the spring!
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Birdsong! It is a great location, not far from Blue Ridge. It is tucked in the woods with a babbling creek close enough to hear from the screened porch which made for delightful napping on the porch day bed! The cabin was well-equipped and comfortable. We cooked most meals at the cabin and did not need a thing! The only bed we slept in was the master and it was very comfortable. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a quiet get-a-way. It would be well-suited for children too!
We loved it! We were looking for a nice cabin that was in the mountains, surrounded by the beautiful fall colors, secluded but close enough to town and a creek for the kids to go explore around. This cabin was perfect for us and even better than we expected. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed and more. We loved the screened in patio with the daybed, the bed was comfy and a great place to just relax at night enjoying nature and the cooler weather. We really enjoyed the two fireplaces in the cabin to keep us warm at night. It was a great vacation and was very happy we were able to stay at Birdsong Cabin. Btw - the owner was great too! He was very helpful and was easily reachable. We hope to come back again in the near future.
As soon as we drove up to the cabin we knew it was the ideal place for us! It is beautifully decorated, cozy, comfortable and fully stocked with anything you may need for the perfect weekend get away. It is very clean and convenient to endless hiking, outdoor activities, restaurants and all that gorgeous Blue Ridge has to offer. If you never left the cabin you would be completely relaxed and happy! Our favorite spot was on the lower outdoor deck above the peaceful sounds of the flowing river. We felt so fortunate to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary in this little piece of paradise! Do yourself a favor and book this cabin today! You will not be disappointed! Many thanks to the owners! They must be extraordinary folks! :)
