House, cottage, beachfront, oceanfront, 1 bedroom 1 Bath, Sleeps 2-4
This house is all about being right on the water. A seawall provides protection from waves at high tide. At low tide, the beach is calm and well protected by an extensive reef off shore. Due to its unique location(see map) the beach is quiet and secluded. Creature comforts include: Mini-split air conditioner, WiFI, and wireless Sonos music system that streams pandora music of your choice with a touch of a button. TV shows and movies streamed via Netflix. Lighting is all dim-able low voltage halogen so you can create an atmosphere to suit the moment. Bedroom features a pillow top King bed with plush hotel quality sheets and overhead ceiling fan. Tiled shower with luxury towels. 2 single futons(folding- 6 inch foam mattresses) complete with sheets, pillows and comforters for extra beds on the floor in the great room.(great for kids) These are meant to be folded and stacked during the day. Large ceiling fan in the great room circulates the cooled air. With the air conditioner, you can keep the windows closed to minimize road noise. Off shore breeze keeps mosquitoes at bay. Portable gas barbecue for grilling on the patio. Fully stocked kitchen allows you to eat in and feel at home.
Favorite things to do: 1) Greet the morning with a cup of coffee on the lanai and watch the sunrise. 2) Go to a new beach every day. 3) If you don't mind a bit of traffic around Sunset beach and the sea turtles at Laniakea AND you need to cool off - take a drive to Haleiwa for shave ice and a stand up paddle board lesson. 4)Explore the road less traveled, south towards Kaneohe-Kailua area all the way to Waimanalo beach.
Other than that, sit back and relax in your own private slice of Hawaii. Aloha!

About Jeffrey Bell
I grew up on Oahu and we go back every year to visit family and friends. We have rented several beach homes over the years but our favorite memories are from small places right on the water. We bought this place with those memories in mind. The lack of crowds and local vibe makes us feel like we have come home.
Jeffrey Bell purchased this House in 2011
Why Jeffrey Bell chose Hauula
The North Shore was always a favorite place to hang out. But I rarely ventured out to Hauula, because it seemed 'too far away' from it all. Now, 30 years later, 'too far away' is a good thing if you know what I mean.
What makes this House unique
The beach area is secluded due to its private location. Feels more like a home with neighbors unlike a resort destination. Plenty of food nearby- Tamura's market and local eats. Papa Ole's serves the best loco moco and the Hukilau Cafe in Laie is great. Romy's shrimp shack in Kahuku is a must do. Favorite North Shore beaches up the road include Waimea Bay, Sharks Cove, and Three Tables; or drive south to Lanikai in Kailua. Close to Polynesian cultural center and Kualoa Ranch.

Perfect place for a peaceful stay
We spent a week here, and it was excellent. The ocean is just beyond the private patio area, and views of the tropical mountainsides are visible through the front. We drove all around Oahu during our week there and this is really the most scenic area, in my opinion. It is a little bit of a drive out from Honolulu, but we never had any significant traffic and the drive is beautiful. For our stay we drove into Honolulu or elsewhere a few days, and just relaxed in the area the remainder. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance!
Nice comfortable home
Perfect house and location for what we wanted to do
Right on the water, nice & clean. Busy road, but we knew that before we booked.
Looked just like the pictures. Patio with sea wall right off the bedroom was a nice place to sit. No beach access but many beaches are close. Polynesian Cultural Center is close too. Owner was very responsive when AC didn’t work & kept in touch. They are installing new unit so shouldn’t be a problem. We had a great time!
The new AC has been installed and works great!
Great spot for two adults who want to kick it into neutral. Husband played guitar and I painted. The kitchen is small and oddly laid out, but we enjoyed the quirkiness of the home. Had fun watching the crabs on the retaining wall and the snorkelers who floated by. The road noise was the only thing that put a damper on our stay. It was constant and relentless. Everything was accurately described. Thank you.
I'm picky when it comes to travel accommodations ( far more than my wife). We both loved the house. Clean, cute, nicely appointed. Air conditioning was nice, we picked up a small portable fan to move a little extra air into the bedroom ( if you're lucky we left it in the closet for the next guests)
Perfect if you want to get away from the busy side of the island. Close to the north shore activiies if you're hanging out for surfing and stuff.
We had a car so touring every road on the island was a non issue of u don't mind a bit of driving. I don't recommend a huge rental car ( no big SUV or truck ) as it won't fit very well or at all under the awning over the driveway.
House has that typical damp climate old
scent but you get used to it in a few minutes.
Being able to cook and live like we do at home compare to when we are in a normal hotel was a blessing, as the wife and I have very different morning routines and schedules.
Jeff was easy to deal with, renting was a breeze.
Everything went as it should have.
Couple of notes
It is literally on the ocean and the waves can pick up and do pound the sea wall attached to the house, so if you're a light sleeper and you're not used to waves slapping the deck it takes a few days to get used to it.
My only real gripe would be the bed- it was really not great...I'd recommend jeff get a new one :)
We Would definitely have no hesitation about renting this lovely home again when we visit.

Great stay on the water!
The house was clean, and it had a nice view of the water from the living room and the bedroom. We loved the fact the it was close to everything we wanted to see in the North Shore. The owner provided clear instructions for us regarding the various features within the house... like the sonos system.
I would recommend staying at his house if you're looking for a place in the North Shore.
