This house is all about being right on the water. A seawall provides protection from waves at high tide. At low tide, the beach is calm and well protected by an extensive reef off shore. Due to its unique location(see map) the beach is quiet and secluded. Creature comforts include: Mini-split air conditioner, WiFI, and wireless Sonos music system that streams pandora music of your choice with a touch of a button. TV shows and movies streamed via Netflix. Lighting is all dim-able low voltage halogen so you can create an atmosphere to suit the moment. Bedroom features a pillow top King bed with plush hotel quality sheets and overhead ceiling fan. Tiled shower with luxury towels. 2 single futons(folding- 6 inch foam mattresses) complete with sheets, pillows and comforters for extra beds on the floor in the great room.(great for kids) These are meant to be folded and stacked during the day. Large ceiling fan in the great room circulates the cooled air. With the air conditioner, you can keep the windows closed to minimize road noise. Off shore breeze keeps mosquitoes at bay. Portable gas barbecue for grilling on the patio. Fully stocked kitchen allows you to eat in and feel at home.
Favorite things to do: 1) Greet the morning with a cup of coffee on the lanai and watch the sunrise. 2) Go to a new beach every day. 3) If you don't mind a bit of traffic around Sunset beach and the sea turtles at Laniakea AND you need to cool off - take a drive to Haleiwa for shave ice and a stand up paddle board lesson. 4)Explore the road less traveled, south towards Kaneohe-Kailua area all the way to Waimanalo beach.
Other than that, sit back and relax in your own private slice of Hawaii. Aloha!

I grew up on Oahu and we go back every year to visit family and friends. We have rented several beach homes over the years but our favorite memories are from small places right on the water. We bought this place with those memories in mind. The lack of crowds and local vibe makes us feel like we have come home.
Jeffrey Bell purchased this house in 2011
The North Shore was always a favorite place to hang out. But I rarely ventured out to Hauula, because it seemed 'too far away' from it all. Now, 30 years later, 'too far away' is a good thing if you know what I mean.
The beach area is secluded due to its private location. Feels more like a home with neighbors unlike a resort destination. Plenty of food nearby- Tamura's market and local eats. Papa Ole's serves the best loco moco and the Hukilau Cafe in Laie is great. Romy's shrimp shack in Kahuku is a must do. Favorite North Shore beaches up the road include Waimea Bay, Sharks Cove, and Three Tables; or drive south to Lanikai in Kailua.
Close to Polynesian cultural center and Kualoa Ranch.
Let me say that, working with Jeff was great! His response was quick and answered questions that I had right away. The Hauula house was everything we expected it to be! the view of the ocean was amazing and everything we needed was there in the house! We thought that we would miss out on having regular tv stations in the house, but who goes to Hawaii to watch tv!! The bed was great! and my son didn't even mind sleeping on the futon. The house was very clean and well maintained. Tamura's and Foodland's were in close proximity of the house and we ate at Papa Ole's more than once!!
I already miss sitting out back watching the fish, turtles and crabs!! and hearing the ocean. I definitely would recommend staying in this Hauula house to my family and friends! Thanks Jeff and Sheri for sharing your wonderful home with us!

I just returned from a brilliant stay here and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, well appointed, modern beach house with fantastic views and access to the ocean. Its actually larger than the photos would suggest, with more than ample room.
The only (minor) negative is that the windows to the back patio from the living room cannot be opened at all - so rather than a seabreeze whilst relaxing inside, you must have the AC on - but if you set up outside instead of in the living room, you cannot hear the sound system.
Apart from that, it is well located with shops and restaurants nearby, an easy commute from Waikiki/HNL, well maintained, quiet un-intrusive neighbours and really just a little slice of paradise to relax, recharge and unwind.
Visit was the first week of June.
Communication with owners was great. Jeff answered all my questions promptly and was easy to deal with. Instruction and directions provided by owners were easy to understand and to the point.
House is well maintained, Decore is current and appropriate. Air conditioner and fans cool the place well when following directions provided.
House is small but perfect for a couple or small family (4). Kids slept on floor futons provide and they had no complaints about comfort and actually enjoyed waking up to the view of a beautiful pacific sunrise. Bed in bedroom was comfortable and we never heard the neighbors dog when trying to sleep as mentioned in other comments. You can hear the road traffic but it's really not as bad as some previous comments suggest. Kitchen and outdoor grill were great for cooking. I suggest you check Inventory at the house before buying anything. We stopped before we arrived to find plenty of condiments, peanut butter, jelly and even an 2 bottles of gas for the grill. Now there is three extra bottles of gas.
Although there is no beach at the back of the house, the view is simply amazing and from within the house we watched sea turtles swimming about 30 yards out from the sea wall. A memory my kids will never forget. How many people get to watch sea turtles play in the ocean while eating dinner? Overall it was an outstanding stay. If you do eat out, Teds bakery is a little drive North but well worth it. Aloha!
This was our second time staying in this house, and obviously we love it! From the sea turtles swimming right off the back porch, to the sunrises each morning, to fishing off the porch, to the sound of the waves as we fell asleep and woke up, to the music system and great AC, comfy bed, easy access to stores/restaurants/other parts of island, we highly recommend this place. The house is very clean and well taken care of, and the owners were great about answering questions.
The North Shore is a gorgeous part of the island, and the ocean views off the back porch, and out the front facing the awesome tropical trees and mountains, are breathtaking. Definitely preferable over a crowded hotel in busy Waikiki. You get your own quiet space and way it's more fun (for us at least!) to experience this little beach town and be so close to other great spots. Just go for a drive up the main road outside the house, and find yourself at another beautiful beach, food truck gathering, or roadside fruit stand, with the ocean next to you the whole drive.
We can't wait to come back!
I throughly enjoyed my week in the beachfront home. Being able to see the beautiful sunrise every morning was a big plus due to the property being on the east side of the island. However, neighbors are very close proximity and you can hear everything unless you shut all the doors then you can't hear the beautiful sound of waves. But don't worry future renters. They do not hang outside that long to bother you. If you are looking for some quite time away from the city life, it is perfect location. Although we enjoyed quietness, we drove an hour one way everyday to the wakiki area for more sunshine and things to do. And to Jeff. Maybe it's time for new curtains in the living room and shower. It showed mildew stain and slight smell. Overall experience was a positive one.
We looked at this rental for years and were finally able to get in! The home itself is well taken care of and truly has everything you need. Bed is super comfy and the setting could not be more beautiful. Unfortunately, we were there during what lifeguards said was some of the highest surf on record for this time of year, so that dashed our hopes of sitting on the deck and reading every morning (high wind and seas), but none the less, we would not hesitate to recommend this home to visitors to Oahu. This side of the island was not having the best weather during our stay, but in 15 minutes, the sunny North Shore was available. During the calmer summer months(and probably any other time without record weather), my bet is that you will not find a more relaxing place on the island. A great place to stay!
