My sister and I grew up in this home so it is very special to us. Sarah still lives local with her family and I have been gone for a number of years in the military. Both of us attended the local elementary school and graduated from Woodstock Union High school. We are avid skiers and will forever keep our family home as a place for us to gather.
Joe Zack purchased this house in 1972
In the early 70's our father made the trek from Mass to the newly opened Killington mountain, he instantly fell in love and soon after he bought the land and with the help of friends built our family log cabin. A few years later our mother was vacationing from NY and met a our father at, where else, the Wobbly Barn! He kicked out his friends and they were married soon after and remained in Killington where they raised both of us. Our family is rich in Killington history, dad was the town constable for over 35 years until his passing. Mom was the first woman member of the towns board of selectmen. This home will forever be in our family and we have recently made the choice to make it available to share with you!
Our home is amazing, the access to everything in Killington is second to none, from sitting on the front porch watching the world go by or moving to the back yard and enjoying the secluded yard with family and friends there is no shortage of relaxation!
The Zack Cabin made for the perfect ski trip. It slept our group of seven very comfortably and had all the amenities we needed - especially in the kitchen.
The cabin is around three minutes to Killington mountain, and even closer to the nightlife. We went to the Wobbly Barn on a Saturday night, and a free shuttle even dropped us off back home around closing time because we were right on the main drag.
Sarah was very responsive to phone calls and text messages with any questions.
A group of 8 of us stayed at the Zack Cabin over MLK weekend in 2016. We had a great time; Joe and Sarah were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. The house has is a quintessential Vermont cabin feel and easily accommodates 8 people. It is also in a great location right off the main access road and a close distance to the nightlife and Killington mountain. Plenty of room to store ski gear on the outdoor porch. Would recommend this for a winter or summer rental! Thanks so much!
We were very happy staying in the log cabin for our family ski vacation over New Years Eve.
The location is perfect for skiing at Killington, right off the access road and easy to get to.
It is just a short drive to Rams Head and Snowshed and there are lots of restaurants to choose from close to the home on the access road.
The cabin was cozy and warm- we really liked the gas fired wood stoves. The house is exactly as described in the listing.
The owners were very responsive to questions and really care about their home, it was very clean and had everything we needed.
We hope to stay there again sometime!
