Overview

About the property

THIS IS NOT A 7 BEDROOM CABIN!! THIS IS 2 CABINS FONTANA VIEW 2 - A 2 BEDROOM AND FONTANA VIEW 3 A 5 BEDROOM THAT SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER!

MAXIMUM SLEEPING CAPCITY IS DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE AND IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED AGAINST FOR GROUPS MADE UP MOSTLY ADULTS. As the number of adults increases the realistic functionality and comfort of this cabin significantly diminishes. It is recommended that groups with large numbers of adults rent cabin look into adding more units to their selection, such as Fontana View 1.

The ridgetop lodge Fontana View 3 is a 5 bedroom cabin and can be combined with its neighbor, Fontana View 2 (a 2 bedroom cabin) for a total of 7 bedrooms. Larger groups will love this package as we have created a special price for renting both these cabins together. They are walking distance to each other, and the ridgetop view, locale of the cabins (which borders US Forest Service land and is directly accessible to a trail leading down to the Tsali mountain biking area), is an excellent location for a family reunion, church group, or corporate event. These 2 cabins have been combined into this "combo" unit and priced to provide a discount from booking the 2 cabins individually. Groups needing even more space can also consider utilizing Fontana View 1 cabin, but that one is priced a-la-carte and not part of the regular combo.

Google Maps Correction

Please note that the Google Map provide to us is not entirely accurate. The USFS road called "Horse Branch" (visible if you zoom in adequately) is a non-vehicular road so is excellent for hiking and biking, but does not allow motorized vehicles. The map shows it connecting to and terminating at Birch Rd, which is incorrect. Horse Branch Trail actually will lead you all the way down to highway 28N and terminates about 100 yards north of the entrance to the Tsali Recreation Area. Thus, you can mountain bike all the way to the Tsali trails directly from this cabin.

*If the number of people in your party exceeds the "Sleep in Beds" number for the cabin, there will be an additional charge of $10 per night for each person over the "Sleeps in Beds" number up to the "Max sleeping" number.*

Fantastic place for Eclipse Viewing with Friends and Family

 • 5 of 5

Our combined clan was taken away by the quality of the cabins and the setting. First, they really felt like they were in the mountains, with the switch-back drive up and the magnificent views. Next, the cleanliness, the layout, and the quality of the furnishings make you feel comfortable that your stay would be about relaxation. Lastly, our situation worked for us in that Fontana 3 was for families with kids and was the main place for conversation and meals. And Eclipse Viewing!! Fontana 2 was quieter. The king beds upstairs were great for couples that needed thier space. The downstairs twin bunk beds were used by older teenagers that wanted late night XBOX (we brought) Video Games. I should not forget to mention the pool tables and foosball as well as the hot tubs. They got much more use than the TVs.

Some of us went tubing in Cherokee. Some went hiking. Mostly we just stayed in the cabins and played/hung out. Worth it!!

We would definitely consider using one of these places again as a family or as two couples (Fontana 2). Having Fontana 2 and 3 or all 3 works great for an event like this or as a family reunion.
