Wild Turkey Run, 4 Bedrooms Sleeps 10

Bedrooms 4
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Wild Turkey Run has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and plenty of room to stretch out. This luxury log cabin feels like a piece of heaven. You will enjoy the beauty of the surrounding meadows and the Smoky Mountains from the large wrap around porch. Inside the focal point of the great room is the massive stone fireplace flanked by the large windows reaching into the cathedral ceiling.

The master bedroom is on the main floor with a queen-sized bed, TV and private bathroom with a jetted tub and separate shower. The second bedroom is also on the main floor with a queen bed. The second bath is on the main floor. The third & fourth bedrooms are upstairs. One has a queen bed and doubles as a game room with a pool table. The other has two twin beds and is perfect for the younger members of your family. Each upstairs bedroom has a balcony overlooking the Smoky Mountains. Also upstairs is a loft overlooking the great room. The loft has a flat screen TV and a sleeper sofa. The third bathroom is upstairs as well.

The road to the cabin is gravel and novice flatlanders might find it difficult. The gravel road is steep at the end right in front of the cabin, but accessible with a normal vehicle piloted by an aggressive or experienced driver. An All-Wheel or 4 Wheel Drive vehicle is recommended. An after dark arrival on your check-in day is not recommended.

*If the number of people in your party exceeds the "Sleep in Beds" number for the cabin, there will be an additional charge of $10 per night for each person over the "Sleeps in Beds" number up to the "Max sleeping" number.*

The cabin was beautiful and fit all 8 of us comfortably. The view was limited.

In your description of the driveway, it should be mandatory to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Two of our vehicles did not make it up the driveway and cause major issues as soon as we got there. Loved the wrap around porch! The cabin was well represented in the pictures. The property was underwhelming and the views were limited to just one part of the cabin. Wish it would have been more private. The photos were not truly represented to the actual surroundings. Hot tub very well maintained! The fire pit was great. Wasp, hornet issues around deck should be checked and sprayed prior to each rental. Overall a good experience.

Beautiful place / Necessary feedback

 • 3 of 5

First I would like to say that the house interior and exterior is beautiful! There were 4 couples including myself and my husband and we all loved our stay at wild turkey run. I gave this review three stars for two reasons. One, it is highly recommended in the notes that a 4wd/awd is recommended. I would say that this isn't just recommended but REQUIRED. Out of the 4 couples only one of the couples who drove a 4wd truck could make the acent to the house. It is a VERY steep driveway and requires a 4wd/awd vehicle. Needless to say my husband and I had to drive to waynesville to rent a 4wd truck because my car absolutely did not make it. Secondly, the mattresses need to be changed out. They are all terrible! All of our friends, including my husband and I woke up with neck/back aches every morning. In my opinion if you're going to rent out a luxury mountain house the mattresses should be at least comfortable. We spent 1400 for 4 days. That to me is a lot of money to spend on a "luxury" mountain house and have the mattresss be terrible. All in all we had a fabulous time but I feel as though these are some areas that need to be addressed in order to make this experience for others worth while. We would consider renting this property again in the future only if they made the sleeping arrangements more comfortable 😉

Awesome cabin

 • 5 of 5

Very nice, super spacious. Going up the gravel was challenging, recommended turning off traction on car to go uphill. Stay was very accommodating, cabin supplied absolute everything, would definitely recommend!

Wish I could own it!

Our 2nd stay was even better than the first. We got to meet the Hillbilly Preacher and even talked for awhile. It has felt like a home away from home now for 2 times!! Great Time for sure!

Beautiful home on a great piece of property

 • 4 of 5

We spent a long weekend at the cabin at wild turkey run with our children and grandchildren. The cabin had everything we could want. The gas fireplace was especially delightful and welcome as the weather turned very cold the day we arrived and no "real" fires were allowed anywhere because of the severe drought. The kitchen was fully furnished with everything we needed to cook all our meals at the cabin. We used the cabin for a jumping off point to go to the Polar Express train ride in Bryson City (very close) and to go hiking in Deep Creek Trail and other great trails in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Super convenient to Cherokee and Bryson City. The only drawback to the cabin was the bedding was very hard and uncomfortable for us. The drive was steep, but we managed it with no problems using only 2WD Honda CRV, Ford Expedition and Kia Optima. A good running start was all that was needed. Great stay!
