A brilliant white concrete and glass modernist three bedroom house set in private gardens on a quiet residential street in the heart of Key Biscayne. Tropical covered outdoor entertainment area. Paintings, sculptures and objets d’art. A bright and airy vacation home.
Completely renovated seven years ago and a new en-suite bathroom added in 2013. The house is in pristine condition. Recently decorated by top local interior designers. One of 6 houses featured on the Key Biscayne “Lifestyles in Paradise” House Tour in 2012.
Front garden surrounded by a 6 foot hedge has four large modernist sculptures and a grove of 18 palm trees. The white façade of the house is punctuated by a scarlet bougainvillea vine. The entrance way is a wall of glass and as one enters the house one looks straight through to the pool in the back garden.
Interior walls throughout the house are white and the floors highly polished white limestone. These serve as a canvas for European and Asian oil paintings and sculptures. The furniture is an eclectic mix of antiques and modernist designer furniture. The back wall of the living room is composed of sliding glass doors. Nearly every room has large glass doors leading out to the front or back gardens.
The dining room has an English antique table and hand painted chairs that seat eight. A sliding glass door connects it to the covered outside eating and entertainment area. The kitchen was fully renovated seven years ago and has all of the necessary appliances, including two ovens.
The master bedroom has a queen-size bed looking out glass doors to the pool and a bright sculpture. It has large closets and an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom number two is lined with bookcases and has an ensuite bathroom that looks out of a very large window onto a grove of palms and a sculpture in the front garden. Bedroom number three, which is suitable for children, has two single beds in the form of a bunk bed and a third single trundle bed. The room has a long window looking out onto the grove of palms in the front garden, a closet, built in desk and bookcase, and an en-suite bathroom with an opaque glass door leading to the front garden. There is a fourth full bathroom in the hall.
A covered terrace in the back garden can be entered from the dining or living room. This area is decorated with large hanging Moroccan glass and metal lanterns and a ceiling fan and has a dining table that seats 8. Tucked around the corner is a barbecue. Adjacent to the dining area is a magnificent 15 by 20 foot Tiki Hut that overlaps the pool by 9 feet. The 4 sofas in the Tiki Hut can comfortably seat 8 people. It is the perfect place to relax after a swim or have drinks before dinner. The private back garden is surrounded by a fence and hedge and trees which are illuminated at night. At the far end of the fifty foot swimming pool are two comfortable chaises for sun-bathing and two garden chairs and a coffee table for those who want to read in the sun..
Cable TV in the living room and 1 bedroom.
The house is a 10 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and Bill Baggs State Park.
We provide twice-weekly cleaning services, pool cleaning and high speed internet and cable service.
Because of the art and antique furniture the house is not suitable for young children.

My wife and I are retired professors from Cambridge University in England. We spend the winters here in our house in Key Biscayne and spend the summers in France and England.
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
We decided to retire here because our son and his family live here and because Key Biscayne is a beautiful little seaside community where the beach and the shops are a ten minute walk away.
When we retired in 2010 we wanted to create a light and airy house where we could be surrounded by the art and furniture that we had collected on our travels over the years. And so, with the help of an architect and interior designer, we totally transformed both inside and out, a Key Biscayne bungalow.
