About Linda Amero, Agent (TCR Trust-Richard Emmanuel, Host)
Host: T.C.R. Trust, Richard Emmanuel My unrelenting quest to explore spiritual consciousness has been the central element of my life’s journey. During the failed youth revolution of the 60’s, I attended The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., studying comparative religion, philosophy, and sacred architecture. I decided to part ways in my fourth year and used my remaining college tuition to purchase an abandoned Church built in1800’s. In 1968 I created an experimental church. “The Church”, as it became known, continues to provide provocative stimulation on subjects of spirituality and the quest for the understanding of human consciousness. Walk -in art installations representing these central themes are juxtaposed and transcended with ancient sculptures of Hindu and Buddhist Art. I reside in “The Rectory” and it is part of the church complex where he has created a unique and charming retreat/studio space. It is a space to welcome people from all over the world to come and relax, rejuvenate and contemplate their journey on Earth.
Why Linda Amero, Agent (TCR Trust-Richard Emmanuel, Host) chose Gloucester
Serene, contemplative environment. Gloucester is also surrounded by a beautiful natural light, which is why many artists, past and present, come here to paint.

La Boheme offered me a unique opportunity to experience this retro furnished studio apartment...
My host, Richard Emmanuel was quite gracious and accommodating not to mention his engaging willingness to share the history of one of Gloucester's more fascinating properties "The Church "...I am looking forward to a repeat stay at La Boheme in the near future and would highly recommend this studio to anyone seeking a quiet retreat in a comfortable TV free studio
Cozy Tucked Away Nature Retreat
Very unique, quaint little space perfect for two people. Bed is new, very comfortable. Living room and attached sunroom relaxing and spacious. Kitchen small, but very practical - has what you need. A working stovetop and oven, toaster oven, small fridge/freezer, sink, coffee maker. Even a washer/dryer. Nice outdoor covered sitting area surrounded by flowers and trees; a real Willoughby feel.
Bathroom cozy; shower is handheld and will be tough for anyone over 5 feet. Had to get creative and turn showers into sit-down bath rinses instead, and it got the job done. Nice warm/hot water, water temp never an issue.
Stayed in late June had some mid-80 degree days; the space never got too hot. 3 fans provided, easy sleeping weather at night, very comfortable temps.
Overall I'd highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere unique and off the beaten path with its own character. Way different and homier than a hotel stay. The owner Richard was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Thank you for the great experience!
Expectations met reality
Had a terrific stay at La Boheme Retreat; Richard was a terrific host and the descriptions of the Studio were very accurate... Thank you
Expectations were met!
Had a terrific stay at La Boheme Retreat as the listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, and amenities. The owner Richard was there to welcome me. The location was terrific, very close to a convenience store and a 20 minute to downtown Gloucester.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Richard's cottage apartment. It was in a convenient spot in Gloucester- to both town and other near by towns, Boston as well. The apartment had everything we needed and Richard was very helpful in getting us oriented. We look forward to going back .
Great Stay, Great Weekend
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the studio for a long weekend and I couldn't have asked for more. It was lovely having our own little private getaway. The outdoor space was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast in the morning and a glass of wine at night. Richard was a wonderful host. He met us when we first arrived providing us with recommendations for markets nearby and respected our privacy throughout the stay. I would recommend this retreat to anyone looking for their own private paradise in a beautiful beach town. Thanks Richard!
