Great Family Getaway
The property was excellent for our fall family get away. Just as expected and hoped for!
We were a group of 9 adults staying for 3 nights - the screened in porch was great for hanging out in at night! We rented a boat for one day from Ed (a local, who was wonderful) and drove the boat right up to the dock at the property to load it up for the day. Worked out great. If this place had a fire pit in the back yard, it would have been almost perfect.
Great summer getaway
We had a wonderful stay here with 4 adults and 6 kids. The 2 master suites were fabulous as each couple had large private space. The two guest rooms were very clean and comfortable. Note that the second room is quite small with no closet but worked perfect! The basement also has a bunk bed and air mattresses as needed. The owner was amazing and already had 2 air mattresses set up with bedding. Great touch! The home is beautiful and stocked with many essentials. Can we talk about the view?? I wanted to stay forever. The home has huge windows that overlook beautiful Powers Lake. We spent mornings drinking coffee and looking out on the lake. We also rented the owners pontoon boat and it was great! The kids fished off the dock and boat. In addition we rented a speed boat and the kids spent all day tubing and water skiing. The location is fabulous. My friend and I walked every morning and discovered so many beautiful homes. I can’t wait to return!!
Wow! What a View
Get used to hearing people saying that when they walk in. Our daughter and her family of 6 arrived a few minutes than we did and we could tell they were excited to show us in. While the photos of the home itself are accurate, they don't adequately prepare you for the spectacular view of Powers Lake. It's stunning. Beds are very nice. Kitchen is equipped with top of the line appliances. (We only went out to eat dinner once.) It feels like a resort. A grandson and grandpa share an August birthday and this year's celebration is certainly one to remember.
What a beautiful house with gorgeous views of Powers Lake. A group of us went on a long weekend to Powers to relax and enjoy the lake life. We were not disappointed. The home was very clean and the owners are very easy to work with. Good communication the entire time before and during our stay. The screened in porch was perfect for enjoying the summer air without being bit by pesty mosquitos. The kitchen and living rooms were perfect for our large group. Big enough for all of us to move around and very functional. Loved the house and hope to stay there again next summer.
Million dollar view!
This house is stunning from the moment you step in the front door! The view is spectacular and very grand with the vaulted ceiling!! All of the upstairs and main level bedrooms are lovely with excellent bedding and mattresses and clean/elegant bathrooms. The house is also stocked with plenty of towels, handy pantry items, and high-quality appliances . Unfortunately, the basement (the location of the bunkbeds) does not live up to the quality of the rest of the home, not even close. It was 60° down there when it was almost 80° upstairs, not very clean, and the three teenagers who used it as their bedroom were not so happy. The A/C struggles to keep the house at a comfortable temperature during the day (it was about 85 outside during our stay) and the heat did not work properly to make the basement more livable. The house has very sophisticated wiring for the sound system and TV. There must have been a problem with the way it was set up because we never could figure it out amongst the 10 of us, even after the property manager paid us a visit. Happily, we were able to get local TV and figured out how to access Netflix. Also, power washing on the outside would have been appreciated to take care of some of the cobwebs.
If we did not need the basement as sleeping quarters, I would not hesitate to stay there again!
Steam shower, radiant heated floors for winter use, 10 minutes from resort town of Lake Geneva.
