One Queen and one King size bed, each bedroom has large walk-in closets for tucking away all the travel gear. A couple extra sleeping accommodations are a single roll away bed and a queen size air mattress. Laundry room is also upstairs.
In addition to the half bath room downstairs, there is a private and Wonderful outdoor shower (did I say Wonderful?!) just off the back porch deck that might become everyone's favorite shower room.
We offer Roku TV that can be utilized for 100's of movie and news options ~ we do not have cable or local live TV.
We both lived and worked in London for over 20 years and moved back to the USA to be near our grandchildren. We love our dogs, garden madly, keep bees, and hike as much as possible. Our motto is Don't Worry Be Happy!
Michael and Lisa purchased this house in 2015
Love the area. Low key downtown Weaverville is lovely and has plenty to offer without going in to the bustle of Asheville.
The best of country life not so far from everything you need.
We stayed at farthest star for a week and had a great time. Everything in the house is as described. The house is very clean and in excellent condition. Would definitely stay here again.
This was a great place to stay for our long weekend. We are from Cincinnati and were meeting our daughter for her Clemson fall break. Location was good for both of us. GPS directions were great, so finding it in the dark was easy. It's pet friendly, so we were able to bring our medium sized dog. It's located in the country, but not deep in woods. There are neighbors on both sides. Location was quiet. House was clean and comfortable. Nice deck on back which we used to eat breakfast. Close to a few hiking trails. About a 25 minute drive into Asheville/Biltmore. Michael and Lisa were very responsive to any questions we had. We would stay here again.
We spent a long weekend at the Farthest Star cabin to get some hiking in and to see the fall colors. We had a wonderful time! The cabin is clean, comfortable, and perfectly situated for trips to Asheville and hiking trails. We especially loved the outdoor shower! We'd be more than happy to stay here again.
This cabin is as cute as they come and well stocked with all the comforts of home. The back yard was great for our 4 legged friends.
A couple things we did not realize when we booked was that there is not a fireplace and the house is on a main road. Neither were deal killers....but they were unexpected.
The hike of Rattlesnake Lodge is close by and a great way to start your day.
If we are in the Weaverville area again, we would enjoy staying here again!
We loved the cabin. One of my favorite things, oddly enough, was the gas stove! It was so nice to wake up in the morning and look out the windows at the trees and birds. I definitely enjoyed the cooler weather!!
There are just a few recommendations I can think of, none of them major.
My husband was very disappointed in the fact that there was no cable TV.
The grass should be cut before guests arrive. It was very high and, since it rained a couple of days, our shoes were constantly wet and we were always cleaning our dog's feet even on the nice days because the grass never dried.
I think a clean kitchen sponge should be provided, as there were several old ones on and under the sink.
Better outside lighting would also be a plus.
Other than those things, we had a great experience and, again, these are only suggestions. Nothing took away from our having a wonderful time.
We loved staying at Farthest Star! The home was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Our dogs loved the yard and the dog run. The owners were very helpful when we got locked out :) We would recommend this home to any traveler.
