We rented the cabin for our daughter the Bride and her bridesmaids for the weekend of our daughters wedding. The girls were all able to stay the night before the wedding, have a wonderful brunch, and then get ready for the ceremony all at the same place. Beautiful rustic cabin with all the modern amenities - beautiful equestrian setting - and Mary is a very gracious host. We could not have been more pleased!
We reserved the log house for a 5 day family reunion with up to (11) people ranging from small children to elderly adults. The setting was terrific and exemplified Middle Tennessee history, rolling pasture terrain, and equestrian heritage. Everyone loved it. The kids liked feeding apples to the draft horses and visiting the horse barn. We all enjoyed watching the Arabians and everyone was absolutely facinated with the Road House. Plenty of opportunities for walks, hikes and bike rides (we brought our own bikes). The front porch with it's swings and commanding view of the surroundings was also popular with everyone and particulary with the older folks . Mary, the owner, was very helpful and hospitable throughout our stay. While we had a lot of people sharing 2 bathrooms, we created a system that worked for us. The kitchen was asthetically in keeping with the history of the house which added to the charm, but even so it actually functioned well - even for a large group with lots of cooking. The beds were very comfortable and high quality.
This is an incredible place. We stayed at this cabin back in the fall and have nothing but great memories. A family of 6, we came to Tennessee to go the the Grand Ole Opry and decided to stay here at the suggestion of a friend. Only a 45 minute drive into Nashville it was so worth it to have all the accommodations we needed. Cabin was spacious and very clean.
