About Raina Kattelson
We are an architect and prop stylist along with our two teen daughters. We have lived in the area for over 20 years. We renovated this house 2 years ago after living in nearby Tivoli for 20 years. When we are not out in the garden we are often traveling.
Raina Kattelson purchased this House in 2012
Why Raina Kattelson chose Red Hook
This house is the perfect mix of walking distance to town and the quiet of being out in the country.
What makes this House unique
The garden is beautifully designed with many mature tree's obscuring most neighbors and making you feel like you there is no one for miles.

We had a great time staying at this house. It's modern and stylish but pleasantly funky, rather than being perfect and sterile. The kitchen is quite amazing and was the place where all our guests hung out. We were constantly marveling at the owner's collections of artwork, cool furniture, books and eclectic objects. It's spacious and pleasant throughout. The back yard is lovely. We would definitely go back to this place!
Words fail me. It's pretty great, you guys.
We feel so lucky to be staying in this incredible home -- inside and out it is just perfection. The gardens are an inspiration & the house is filled with beauty and smart, original, ideas (I will be freely adapting as many as I can for my own house). It's comfortable as well and everything works perfectly. A great, quiet, convenient residential neighborhood. This is Reina's family home -- there is terrific art and many personal touches throughout. If you've ever wanted to be INSIDE the best Conde Nast house you've seen in the Hudson Valley, this is your chance -- sophisticated, comfortable, convenient, really just sublime. Easy walk to coffee and terrific restaurants, if you don't feel like driving, and SO convenient for visiting Bard. My daughter and her friends, all current students, were really awestruck at this place. The only bad thing about Bard, I thought, was the bad options for staying long weekends and so on. Now I know better. Their family cat, Otto (he's part of the deal but there is NOT a litter box in this house -- Otto is an indoor / outdoor cat), is simply the nicest cat I've ever met -- as dog owners, we can't HAVE a cat -- Otto is a pretty perfect feline being. I could go on forever. We will hope to be back.
