About Maria Stark

I'm a Los Angeles business woman who found her paradise up in Napa and is eager to share it.

Why Maria Stark chose Saint Helena

I chose this property for its unique Tuscan indoor/outdoor feel. I enjoy walking the rustic gardens, listening to the babble of the water fountain, lounging under the sprawling trees that shade the property's terraces, and watching my grapes grow. I installed an outdoor soaking tub and shower to take full advantage of the picturesque vineyard setting. Nothing relaxes me quite like drawing a warm bath, lighting a few locally made candles, and staring out over the vines. At night, I enjoy lighting up the fire pit and peering up at the stars. After a full day of relishing the beautiful outdoors, I love stepping inside to the plush comfortable amenities, falling into bed, and waking up to repeat it all the next day.

Slice of Heaven-

  • 5 of 5

Words can't express how much I enjoyed this little slice of Heaven--Everything about it was right up my alley...I am an interior designer and have very critical eye. ...This place is just amazing. Every detail..down to the dishes just made me smile...The setting is incredible and feels a million miles away from this planet. Thank you Carolyn for being a gracious custodian of these prorates and allowing me to view the main house. I am in love I found my most favorite spot...I travel a lot so this is a big deal to me...Thank you again

Amazing property!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently had a wonderful stay at this lovely Tuscan guest house. Beautiful home in a gorgeous setting; very romantic. Is secluded but only takes approx 12 min to get to downtown St. Helena - loved the drive up the windy road. Owner was very responsive and thoughtful during our stay. We are hoping to come back in the future for an anniversary.

Quiet perfection on top of gorgeous Spring Mountain

  • 5 of 5

This is a true hidden gem nestled right in the heart of the stunning vineyards of Spring Mountain. The cottage is impeccable, with ample amenities and thoughtful touches like big, fluffy blankets to take to the fire pit, s'mores fixins, and plenty of extra towels, sheets, and blankets. We enjoyed morning coffee watching the sun rise over the quiet, private vineyard, taking evening strolls (with a glass of wine, of course) and exploring the nearby wineries and the spectacular scenery of Spring Mountain, sitting by the bonfire watching the sky change colors with the sunset, and enjoying wine by the indoor fireplace on breezy nights. We brought take out from St. Helena up most evenings and heated in the microwave, or had picnic dinners (from Sunshine Market) while sitting outside enjoying unparalleled ambiance that can't be found in ANY restaurant. I can't give this property -- and the property managers -- enough stars. By FAR the best, most private, spectacular place to stay when enjoying the wine country, and a good value for what is included, not to mention the setting. We're already planning our return!

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this gorgeous space to celebrate my mom's 70 birthday. Everything was perfectly stylish, clean, and we appreciated Maria's quick responses to any questions we had before arriving. We would definitely rent here again. Thank you for creating a magical place for family, and friends to stay.

Great place to get away from it all...or not

  • 5 of 5

This quaint cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway or for a person that just wants to get away. Hard to imagine a more peaceful setting. And the views of the winery attached to the property will have you snapping photos. During the day you can relax in the hammock and in the evening you can relax in the loungers around the fire pit. Of course, such a heavenly place does not come without a price. In this case that price is a 5 mile drive up a very narrow and winding (and often times very steep) mountain road. After a few days you will likely begin to think twice about leaving the house. The good news is that you don't have to go far to visit some spectacular wineries. We were delightfully surprised at how many excellent wineries are on the road to the house - a couple of which you could walk to if you don't mind a bit of a climb (or descent). Bottom line is that I would highly recommend this lovely guest house.
