Yosemite National Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6). All inclusive-No cleaning fee.

All inclusive. No cleaning fee. Built in 1998 this modern 1600 sq. ft. ranch style home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our home has a beautiful large kitchen completely stocked for cooking needs. The living room and dining area are large and open with lovely and comfortable furnishings. There is a large laundry room available for our guests. You step out the front door and are surrounded by trees over one hundred years old, huge granite rocks and a seasonal creek right in front of the house. Early risers can enjoy that first cup of morning coffee with a leisurely walk or sitting under the trees enjoying the quiet and fresh air. Yosemite is approx. a one hour drive (38 miles) along the Merced River which meanders through canyons into the park. For advanced hikers our home is two miles from one of the most beautiful hikes in Mariposa. Search: Hite Cove trail for details. Historical downtown Mariposa is 20 minutes away with gold mining and rock museums, shopping, restaurants and antique stores. You can pick up the YARTS bus into the park in several locations in town. Bus fare includes admission into the park. Yosemite zip line tours are just outside of the town of Mariposa. Chuckchansi Casino is 45 minutes away with live shows and several restaurants. Bass Lake is 45 minutes away with boating, jet skiing, fishing and swimming. Zephyr white water river rafting is 20 minutes away

Keywords: See our reviews by past guests who have loved our home away from home. A comment we constantly get from guests is how cool, lush and heavily wooded our area is compared to the lower elevations in Mariposa. One of our guests little girl described our property as being like 'Narnia'. Surrounded by oaks, pines and a seasonal creek. There are frequently deer and wild turkeys strolling around the property. Our home is also available for exchange in Europe and the U.S.

About Eileen Blankenhorn

We have loved our home in the mountains since 2003 with many family and friend gatherings. Living in a large city, it is nice to escape to an area where people do not even lock their doors.

Eileen Blankenhorn purchased this house in 2003

Why Eileen Blankenhorn chose Yosemite Area

Our home is located at a 4,000 ft. elevation rich in forest life, cool summers and beauty unlike the lower elevations in Mariposa. We bought in this area because of the extreme beauty of the surroundings and accessibility to hiking and bike trails. We have filled our home with art and decor from our wonderful travels.

What makes this house unique

Located in a serene, quiet neighborhood, beautiful wooded property and excellent roads!

We enjoyed our stay there. Wish it were closer to Yosemite, but in every other way it was perfect.

Quiet, comfortable, perfect condition

  • 5 of 5

Two couples used this rental as home base for a Yosemite vacation. It is wonderful and exactly as described - just what we wanted. All the "excellent" reviews are right on target!

Waze directed us to the house with no problems. It was easy to find, even in the dark. But use the homeowner's instructions for navigating to Yosemite. And if you are looking for an alternative to the Mariposa giant Sequoia grove in Yosemite (which is closed for upgrading), try Nelder Grove, which is in the Sierra National Forest, convenient to this house, and not at all crowded.

Owner's Response: Hi Ellen, That's awesome that you and your friends enjoyed the house and Mariposa so much! Also, thanks so much for the information on the alternate grove. For so many of our guests with just a weekend visit, it's nice to have a closer alternative which is just as beautiful. I always encourage our guests to read about all the wonderful uncrowded things to do in the area. Hope you can return again some day for a longer visit.

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

This house is wonderful and Eileen was an excellent host. She responded to all of my communications promptly, both before and during our stay. The house is beautiful and clean with comfy beds and plenty of space for the four of us. We cooked one night and had all of the equipment we needed. My husband also wants me to add that the CD selection was fantastic! The hosts left tons of information about Yosemite and the surrounding area, so getting around was very easy. There are neighbors around but it feels remote, with gorgeous views of the stars at night. Our only regret about this house is that we didn't stay longer!

A couple of notes for people looking at this house: It's one hour to the entrance to Yosemite, but to get to Yosemite Valley or most other locations within the park, plan for at least 1.5 hours. The road up to the house is narrow, full of deer, and very dark at night - so plan ahead if you don't like driving in the dark! As mentioned in the listing, there is no cell services so GPS to the park does not work -- however, there is a binder in the house with directions to the park that are very accurate and will get you where you need to go!

We LOVED our stay here -- thanks Eileen!

Excellent House!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent house! There is nothing you need and you'll not find, everything clean, such a good taste for the design and decoration! But the most important thing for us was to to feel at home thousands of miles far from our home!

We travel a lot around the worl, mostly by renting houses "far of the madding crowd", and I can say this property is one of the best we've stayed ever!

Owner's Response: Having just returned from a trip to Europe I know what you mean by "feeling at home" while away from your home. I'm so glad we were able to give you and your family that comfort. Best wishes!

Lovely spacious home

  • 4 of 5

My family and I rented this nice home and traveled into Yosemite each day. The house accomodated us very well .

The difficulty we had was finding the street . GPS doesn't always work and don't rely on the locals for directions.

I'd suggest obtaining specific directions from Mariposa to get you to the street. It is up in the mountain.

Once you get there, you'll enjoy the home.

Excellent Home for Rest & Relaxation!!! Has Everything you Need.

  • 5 of 5

We just ended our stay at this wonderful home, and the family agrees we should have stayed a bit longer. If this is your first time visiting Yosemite, don't be fooled into thinking 1-2 days is plenty of time. The owners of the home put a great deal of thinking into stocking the home with everything you may need. The kitchen is spacious has everything you need to prepare a good meal. The pans (non stick) are in great shape. They provide you with toiletries. The television has Netflix, and after a day of hiking and exploring it is so nice to come home to a place that you can watch a good movie and enjoy some decent food. They have a a nice washer and dryer, comfortable beds and well stocked bathrooms. All in all, this place is perfect for a big family to spend some time together and enjoy the park. If your looking to rest and relax and get some hiking in, this is a great home. As far as the distance, YES, it is about 1 hour to the park gate. But you cannot beat space and the conveniences you are getting here vs. a tiny hotel room. Well worth the drive.

Notes:
Outside seating next to our creek with views of one hundred plus year old trees is incredibly relaxing. Views of the stars at night is unmatched. Our home is within the boundry of the Sierra National Forest at a 4,000 foot elevation, so the summer days are breezy with temperatures in the low 80's. We are located one minute to the trail head of the back country of Yosemite. You can ride ATV's or dirt bikes for hours and not run into another rider. You enter beautiful forest, creeks, abandoned gold mines and wildlife habitat. This area really is like no other.
