This expansive stunning ranch home has two bedrooms each located at different ends of the home for ultimate privacy. Two gas fireplaces for romantic evenings are located in the family room and the 420 sf. Living Room. Two enclosed decks for privacy as well as a large view deck to watch the ocean and sunsets.
The gourmet kitchen features a subzero refrigerator, fisher paykel dishwasher drawers, two ovens and counter space for multiple cooks. Allergies? No pets have been in the house and the furnace has a HEPA Filter. Hi-speed secure wi-fi connection too!

This beautiful location with views of the mountain coming down to the ocean never ceases to delight our senses. Love to hike Montara Mountain with it's many trails, walk the Coastal Bluff Trail in Half Moon Bay and the Pacifica Coastal Trail at Linda Mar. The Harbor area is a treat with kayak rental, boat excursions, restaurants and fresh fish off the boats. Being just 25 minutes from San Francisco makes for great day excursions. We are within a few hours of several wine regions. Our sleepy little town is amazing and affords a serene respite for the spirit.
We really enjoyed the home and the location. As well, the weather was terrific and we saw whales everyday from our front room view. The home is lovely and very comfortable. I'm sure we'll return many more times.
We would go back tomorrow. The bluff house was perfect weekend get away for east coasters like us to experience the unreal California coast line. Near Half Moon Bay and San Francisco it was perfectly located. House was clean and Directtv in every room. We watched the sunset from the deck and hiked each day . Great restaurants very near.
Nothing less than five stars is accurate for this property. We loved our stay and everything was just as we had hoped. Not one disappointment. The photos are all 100% accurate (that view!) and we already felt at home the minute we walked in the door. The location of the house is wonderful, on a quiet dead end street, with spectacular views of sunsets, beach, and mountains from panoramic windows all over the house. What more could anyone want? We were treated to awesome whale crossings and breaching right from the living room window. That was a first for us! We were thirty minutes from the airport, but felt a world away. This is an easy escape from SF or from out of town. The spacious house is appointed beautifully and was very comfortable and homey. Clearly the house has had many recent updates and felt new in many ways. Spotless as well. The beds and linens are luxurious. Both bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, with their own baths, so it really is a perfect couples getaway. The open kitchen was a delight to work in and was very well stocked with pots, pans, gadgets, casual and fine china, cookbooks, everything you would need. Kathy, the owner, kept in touch with us during our stay to ask how everything was going and to alert us to the whale activity. She was a nice as she could be and we were honored to be enjoying her lovely home. She has anticipated almost everything anyone could want from sunscreen to binoculars to a wine tote for the beach. Flowers were blooming all around the front and back deck area. We found the house very quiet and the neighbors were delightful. We enjoyed many strolls through the neighborhood (saw hawks and owls), over to the McNee Ranch trails, down to a dinner at La Costanera, and down to gorgeous Montara Beach. And for the tech amenities...the high speed internet was great and DirectTV plus a blu-ray/DVD player was nice for snuggling up with a good show in front of a fire. This house is simply divine in all ways. We enjoyed pretending it was ours and we can't wait to return.
Don't make the mistake we made! First, this house sits DIRECTLY ABOVE THE MAIN HIGHWAY with constant traffic! The loud car noise from the highway DIRECTLY below is easily heard while sitting on the little front deck area, but even worse, you can hear it with all the windows closed in the bedroom when trying to go to sleep. DEFINITELY NOT A QUIET LOCATION! Secondly, the view showing the ocean?? Add LOTS OF POWER LINES and the power poles they connect to; the owner's photo shows only one power line going across the sky---very deceiving. And that front deck? Directly across the street is a small unkempt single story house. That is your real view. The ocean view is off to the left past this dirty house and the power lines. Now, let's talk about the house. It is an old ranch style that has been semi-updated inside. This is the weird part: you think you are renting an entire house, BUT YOU ARE NOT! This house has actually been divided to make it appear that you are renting a whole house. In reality, the owners constructed a wall in the hallway so as to partition the house, and they live directly on the other side of this wall! They put a wall mirror on that 'new' wall to make the house appear larger (floor to ceiling). Every time I walked past this big mirror on the wall to go to the bathroom I wondered if it was a two-way mirror? Freaky. The couple who gets the second bedroom must walk across this hallway, in front of this mirror, to a very small bathroom with no surface space for toiletries (make sure you decide in advance which couple gets the bigger bedroom with the ensuite bathroom---which is also larger---because these two bedrooms are definitely not equal; we didn't even have a place to put our luggage). The owners put up security cameras outside the property, one stares at you as you walk in the front door, and we saw a few others mounted to the house (motion sensor lights too!). I could hear the owners talking in their part of the divided house and I could hear water running when nobody on our side was using a faucet. Our side had one address number out front, and the owners put up another number on a telephone pole for their side---but it's the SAME house! The second bedroom doesn't even have a closet. They stuck an old VERY SMALL amoire in that bedroom for the both of us to hang our clothes. The door in our bedroom that could have been a true closet was locked! A gardener came during our short visit--Wow. Also, NO A/C! Yuk!!
The home and location were far beyond my expectations.
The view overlooking the ocean was absolutely gorgeous and the house afforded a great deal of privacy.
Beautiful layout of the house complimented by relaxing decor made this a real getaway. Great local restaurants as well as very close to the city.
We enjoyed the place so much, we only went to the city once as we truly wanted to enjoy the property. Everything was new and clean and quite spacious.
The kitchen was spectacular and we enjoyed the blue ray player as well - plenty of places to rent movies from for a quiet night at home.
Kathy was super responsive to all my questions, as I was not familiar with the area and her response time was almost immediate, I was so impressed.
She was gracious and I am already planning to come back for my next vacation. In a word, it was sheer "bliss."

Our family loved this beautiful home with amazing ocean cliff views of the Pacific Ocean from almost every room in the house! Every convenience you could possibly need is provided in this beautifully decorated home.
We were sad to leave, but hope to someday come back to enjoy more whale watching from the front deck, gorgeous ocean sunsets and great family time!

You wlll arrive at a destination resort area on the Half Moon Bay Coast. Beautiful beach boardwalk, pier and harbor, restaurants, fresh fish to bring back, whale watching and deep sea fishing excursions. 25 minutes to San Francisco.
Hiking trails are literally outside the front door. Kayaking is in the Harbor just 3 miles away where you can also paddel board and wind surf. Montara Beach is a long white sand beach with good surfing. Mavericks surf is 3 miles away. Bicycle trails are everywhere including Montara Mountain with many off path trails for biking and horseback riding. Stables are within a few miles, and yes, you can ride your horse down to the beach in Half Moon Bay.
