"Basically, this property is the perfect get away place. Between the house itself, the lake, the hot tub, firepits, lawn games and of course the views and surrounding area you can not go wrong... Thank you for providing the backdrop to some wonderful memories.” — Jill C., Guest in July 2017
This pristine lakefront house has all the amenities you need, including high-end linens, towels, and bath amenities such as organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion; a kitchen with a microwave and a full-size refrigerator; a laundry room with washer and dryer; high-quality well water; and home entertainment options such as high-speed Internet, free WIFI, Apple TV, and a DVD player. When you want to have fun outdoors, you have access to a hot tub, kayaks, fishing gear, aluminum rowboat, fire pits, and a propane grill.
Watch for loons, eagles, and other wildlife on the lake from the large windows in the open-plan kitchen, dining room, and living room. You can also enjoy lake views from the two bedrooms. The house is located in a very quiet area on 10-mile-long Graham Lake, giving you a great sense of seclusion without having to travel too far off the main road.
Enjoy panoramic lake views from the private dock. Swim, fish, take one of the two single-person kayaks or the three-person kayak out for a paddle, grab a fishing rod and hop in the row boat, or simply relax and read on the patio. Make dinner on the propane grill, and end your day at the fire pit at the water's edge or the fire pit on the patio—firewood is provided. Finish your evening by relaxing in the outdoor hot tub and watching the wildlife pass through the yard.
Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are just under an hour away. Mount Desert Island offers an endless array of activities for those looking for romance, those hunting for adventure, and everyone in between. In Acadia National Park, visit Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, and Otter Cliff. Take a drive up Cadillac Mountain to see the sunrise or sunset, and enjoy great dining in Bar Harbor.

Clean, stunning, relaxing, felt like home
This place is amazing! My Husband and I stayed here for our Mini- honeymoon. The house was beautiful and in a stunning setting. The road was quiet and it felt like we were the only ones on the lake. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was perfect to sit in after a day of hiking and look at the stars. We loved using the grill to cook supper two different nights (we stopped at a family market on the way to pick up food- no condiments in the house so pick up what you want). The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and cookware. The kayaks were awesome to paddle around the lake. We used the two man kayak to watch the sunset on the lake and the single kayaks to explore the shoreline the next morning. Life jackets were provided and Tim had a range of sizes. The amenities were great! We used the washer/dryer after a day of hiking and loved the K-Kup coffee maker - hint, the power button is on the bottom right 🤪. We were able to set up our Netflix with the Apple TV to relax with in the evening. There is local hiking that we didn’t get to this trip as we had planned to visit Acadia- It takes about 45 -50 minutes to get to Acadia National Park (off season with no traffic). We loved Otis General store (about 10 min from the house)- Great Breakfast Sandwiches!! Ellsworth is about 20 minutes away and has a great selection of food and stores- we enjoyed a lobster dinner and pulled pork sandwiches at Ruth and Wimpy’s restaurant. Also had breakfast two mornings at Sylvia’s Cafe! Excellent corned beef hash! Ice cream at Morton’s Moo Homemade ice cream was an udder delight 😋 We missed the blueberry ice cream however - next trip! Tim was a very accommodating host and very responsive to any question/text messages. We loved the handwritten welcome note upon our arrival. We cannot wait to come back and stay again to explore more of the lake and the surrounding area!
Family end of summer
We spent a week at the end of our summer. The house was in excellent condition and had every amenity. Worked perfectly for our family of 5. Tim(owner) was great. We were low on firewood for the fire pit and thatwas filled within 24 hrs. The lake was pristine, quiet and secluded. Modern kitchen with everything you could need. Watched some of the movie collection on a rainy day. About 45-50 minutes to Acadia.
Just Come and Relax
If you want to wake up to a beautiful view and quiet this is the place to do it. Our family of four loved our stay here. The house itself is lovely, comfortable, clean and beautiful. It feels very private but not a spooky private if that makes sense. The kitchen had all you needed to cook meals and enough glasses, plates and utensils to serve at least a group of eight. You did not have to wash the same plates over and over in order to use them for the next meal. The bathroom was stocked with complimentary shampoos and conditioners which we thought was such a nice gesture as well as plenty of shower and beach towels. The family room had extremely comfortable recliners for each of us. Our 9 year old twin daughters felt like princesses with not only the recliners but their own loft space to sleep and play in as well. There's even a hammock chair on the porch they loved to read in. The house is wonderful but the water and the view is outstanding. We got up every morning and paddleboarded. We brought our own SUP but there are kayaks and a rowboat with life jackets that are available to use on this peaceful lake. The girls were able to swim and play in the water as well.
The house is just about 1 hour away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which is probably the only negative we could think of. So if you want to drive every day to ANP know you will be driving. But with that being said there are a number of activities to do closer to the house as well. Tim and his wife did an excellent job providing a list of possible hikes, activities and restaurants to go to in the local area. We did an easy hike to Mariaville Falls which is not very far from the house at all. It was very peaceful. We wish we had brought a lunch or a book to just relax there a bit longer. The town of Ellsworth is about 20 minutes from the house. It has everything you need with 2 grocery stores, Walmart, LL Bean Outlet, restaurants, ice cream (we so recommend Mortons Moo Homemade Ice Cream) gift shops, etc. It must be said that our daughters' favorite spot in Ellsworth was an adventure area with a ropes course, waterslides, zip line, etc.
Basically, this property is the perfect get away place. Between the house itself, the lake, the hot tub, firepits, lawn games and of course the views and surrounding area you can not go wrong. Tim was very easy to work with and responded to all our questions quickly. Thank you for providing the backdrop to some wonderful memories.
Wonderful vacation rental!!!
My family and I stayed at Stillwater for a week -wish it could have been longer! Not only was the home clean, (and I mean clean!!) it was amazing! My family ranged in age from 13 to 85 and we all loved the beautiful home. It is exactly as described, only better. We had to keep my 85 yr old mom downstairs because the stair case is tricky with shallow steps, but the rest of the family loved the loft and cat walk over the living and dining rooms ( not to mention the awsome couches, tv set up, and sitting/reading room. We loved cooking in the kitchen (well equipped) and the grill and had a fire in the fire pit almost every night. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. Tim could not have been more accomodating or graceous. We had a leak in the utility room and he was there in a heartbeat to fix it. Wish the drought didn't affect the lake so much, but nevertheless we alll went kayaking and fishing and had great fun. Perfect vacation. Thank you Tim!!!
Great Week with the Family
Our family had a great week at Stillwater. The house is immaculate and attractive and has water views from all the first-floor rooms. The owners have provided the extra touches to make this a comfortable home away from home. The kayaks, hot tub, movie collection, comfortable tv viewing couches, internet, and well-stocked kitchen make this a comfortable vacation accommodation. We used the house as a base and explored the areas from Acadia, Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, Castine to Aurora. Each night we enjoyed the movie collection that has classic titles. Great house and great vacation.
Second Time Around Beautiful Vacation Spot!!
We enjoyed the house just as much as last year. We explored more in the area and around Acadia this year. The lake was lovely and relaxing. We may have wished for more sunny days and a longer trip but we look forward to returning again next year.
