I rented this property for the weekend for my best friend's birthday & spring break weekend. We had 4 adults in our group. We wanted a nice, quiet, relaxing house to lounge around in and be able to cook out and enjoy the outdoors and the scenery. I'll just say that the photos are very deceiving. The property is actually located on the corner of a busy residential intersection as opposed to being secluded and set back in the trees as the photos suggest. The inside is remarkably clean, tidy & smelled fresh but the furnishings, décor, bedding and especially the beds are very out of date and not very comfy. The living room has a medium sized couch and an over stuffed chair, not near enough seating for 4 adults to sit comfortably or for a large family. The house has a gas fireplace but it wouldn't light. There is no wifi or internet service at the property. There was no extra toilet paper or paper towels when we arrived. No TP after a 4 hour road trip is not a nice surprise to come in to. The biggest disappointment was with the "wrap around porch". It was rotting and falling apart in some places and the railing was extremely loose, not a very safe area if you have small children. There were a few mismatched uncomfortable chairs and a tiny side table but no patio furniture to lounge on and no bbq grill to cook out on. We had planned on cooking out & just chilling outdoors on the patio so we were very disappointed in the condition of the porch and the lack of furniture. If you're looking for so-so quality, don't want anything fancy and don't care about not having a porch to relax on or being able to cook out, then this property would probably be ok for you. Otherwise, if you have kids or want to utilize the porch and enjoy the great outdoors then this probably isn't the property for you. This wasn't a bad property by any means & it was extremely clean, it just didn't have the "WOW, this is NICE" factor that we wanted from our vacation. Again, it was clean but I wouldn't stay here again for the price that I paid.
Loved our stay! Everything was perfect. The housekeeper was super friendly and helpful when we were unable to figure out how to work the cable/tv components. We are already planning our return trip! Thank you!!!
This isnt a huge cabin but it was perfect for us even with three adults and two kids. It was clean and even had a couple of game so we had a fire with hot chocolate and a family game of monopoly. Very easy to get to! Has everything you need.
Place was as pictured: very organized, cozy, and clean. We enjoyed the easy access to Highway 48 and the washer/dryer came in handy-- will gladly come back. One suggestion: Please provide wi-fi!
This was a very enjoyable and comfortable cabin. Roomy, nice furnishings and everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. The view of the mountain peak from the cabin outside porch added a special touch. I liked the huge Ponderosa pine trees around the property as well as the close proximity by walking to a dramatic overview of the mountain ranges nearby. The cabin feels secluded but yet is close to the main highway for quick access into the main part of Ruidoso as well as nearby skiing. I would definitely come back for another visit.
