Thrift shops, antique shops in Aberdeen and Hoquiam and more antique shops in Centrelia, 1 hour away. Day trips to Ruby Beach, Hoh Rain Forest and Forks are about 2 hours. Lake Quinault with boating, fishing, hiking is about 45 minutes away.
This is a special place to relax and enjoy the peacefulness or to explore wonderful nearby places.

I am Susan Hand. I live in Houston, TX. I love to travel the world and have explored many beautiful places but this area is still my favorite. I come here as often as possible.
Susan Hand purchased this cottage in 2007
I loved this cottage the minute I saw it. The energy in and around the cottage is amazing--very peaceful and nourishing. I bought in as a second home, loved furnishing it and taking care of it. I have wonderful neighbors across the street and next door who also look after it. I love this area. I always go to Westport for the beautiful beach, the winery, lighthouse. I also love Ruby Beach, Lake Quinault, the beautiful Hoh Rain Forest with the Hall of Mosses. I enjoy day trips to Seattle, Olympia, Astoria, Oregon on some trips. An overnight trip to Vancouver Island and Victoria, BC is also a wonderful excursion.
I love spending time relaxing, reading, doing puzzles at the cottage. I also love to explore the many wonderful places nearby.
This cottage is the perfect place to stay in Aberdeen. It has everything you could possibly need to be cozy and comfortable. Extremely clean and furnished with taste to make you feel like you are at the beach. The beds were very comfortable also. Quiet neighborhood and great for morning or evening walks. We saw deer almost everyday. Delightful and wonderful!
My husband and I have stayed at this house many times and love it! The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. There is a really nice laundry room. It is a very comfortable, quiet place. It is always clean and well maintained when we arrive. We feel like it is our home away from home!
This house, located on the edge of town, is big yet cozy. Many amenities are thoughtfully provided. So clean! Have already recommended to others. We hope to return soon.
This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage. Very comfortable, has everything you need. Close to oceans and entertainment. Good food just down the road at breakwater. Park nearby for kids to play. Will always stay here if we can.
My wife, dog and I stayed here for a weekend escape from the Seafair madness and it was heavenly! The home was well appointed with everything we needed and the location was perfect. We spent one day at Pacific Beach (45min drive) and Ocean Shores (30min drive) then watched the sunset in Westport (25min drive). The home is close to shops and restaurants in town but far enough from the traffic where all you hear is the wind and the occasional dog. And the nature.....Our first morning we were greeted by two raccoons and when we returned from the beach there was a mother deer and her fawn enjoying a snack in the lawn :-)
We couldn't recommend this home enough! Thank you, Susan for providing such a warm, accommodating home. We are looking forward to our next visit!
The peace and quiet of this little cottage was priceless! Located at the top of a hill overlooking the small coastal town of Aberdeen, it was the perfect getaway for two Texans wanting to escape triple digit heat. The temperatures during our stay in early August varied from 53 to 68 deg F every day.
We chose Aberdeen because of its proximity to Olympic National Park and the beaches of northern Oregon. These were both destinations that we wanted to explore, since this was our first visit to Washington. Aberdeen itself has its own charm and we enjoyed dining and shopping there.
We heartily recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from the noise and distraction of city life.
The property was very clean and well kept and was stocked with everything we needed for our 3 days. My wife gathered blackberries each morning for breakfast from bushes in the backyard.
For local dining, we recommend Breakwater Seafood & Chowder.
