About Cheryl Quartaro

We're the Quartaros....Cheryl, Chris our 3 kids and lots of extended family. Traveling is one of our favorite things to do together, so we've been to quite a few destinations. Breckenridge is at the top of our list of the best places, that's why we decided to make it our second home. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do! We appreciate feedback from our guests and look forward to hearing from you.

This is actually our second cabin in the vacation rental market. We also have a 1 bed/1 bath log cabin in the Smoky Mountains called Sweet Sensations at Little Valley. However, that cabin isn't large enough to hold the family...perfect for a romantic get-a-way, but not for the 5 of us. Q's Breckenridge Hideout is our family vacation destination!

Cheryl Quartaro purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Cheryl Quartaro chose Breckenridge Area

We were looking for a list of features: land, water, view, privacy, easy access, 3+ bedrooms, large outdoor living space, one story and within 10 min of Breckenridge. We saw this gem and immediately put in an offer!

What makes this cabin unique

For a summer stay, the creek and deck are incredible. There are some parts of the creek where you hear nothing but the roar of the water...very relaxing. Plenty of snow in the winter to romp around in, build a snowman, or even an igloo. A full acre of land provides the privacy to have a relaxing fun time outside.

The cabin features a stocked kitchen with crock pot, espresso machine, coffee bean grinder, pancake griddle, and full assortment of pots/pans. Multiple humidifiers and 4 zones of independent temperature control.

Wonderful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our family did a quick 3 day stay at Q's Breckenridge Hideout in late October. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. No problems hooking up to the Wifi. We enjoyed hanging out by the fire in the living room and playing board games at the big table in the dining room. The decorations were rustic and tasteful, I especially liked the dining room chandelier and the coat "tree". We liked the layout of the house a lot, and it was nice to have 3 bathrooms for our family of 5. I was hoping for a little more seclusion on the acre property. I didn't expect to see the road from the back of the deck or the neighboring house from the side of the deck. That being said, it was still very nice and quiet, and the deck was incredible. It was very spacious with a lovely HOT tub with party lights and cool jets. I also especially liked the heat lamp and being able to extend those chilly outdoor hours by being able to lounge under the light. The patio furniture, grill and fire pit were very lovely and the view was gorgeous. We enjoyed exploring down by the stream, beautiful area and a short drive to the adorable town of Breck. The owner was very easy to work with and we had our deposit back very quickly. We can't wait to return!

Owner's Response: Thanks for such a thorough review! We're encouraging the trees to grow along our property lines to increase privacy, but the trick is not blocking the great view of North Star! ;-) Glad you enjoyed the hot tub. We make it a point to keep it in tip-top shape. Please stay with us again.

Ahhhhhhhhh.......Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

The views are amazing and the sound of the creek below while sitting on the deck or in the hot tub made it the perfect place to get away from it all. We loved sitting out by the gas fire pit!! The house was very clean and had all you need to cook if you choose to. We enjoyed hiking and coming back to soak our tired muscles in the hot tub. This place is fantastic!!

Owner's Response: We appreciate the review! We're so happy you enjoyed our "little slice of heaven"...peaceful and only 10 minutes from town. Since we try and stay for 2+ weeks at a time, I tend to stock up on all the "necessities" of home.

This was our second time to the Hideout! Just beautiful and serene. A neighbor we had met kindly came and got us to see a moose family in her backyard! Cheryl and Chris have an awesome place. Everything you need is there. The refurbished fire pit on back porch is a great sitting area after the hot tub.

Owner's Response: I'm so jealous that you got to see the moose family! We never know when they'll show up, but we have seen "evidence" that they've been down by our creek. Last time I was there, I saw a beautiful fox scamper across the meadow and countless birds. Come stay with us again!

Comfortable home with nice amenities in beautiful surroundings with great views of nearby mountains

  • 5 of 5

We would recommend this home which is approximately 15 minutes south of Breckenridge, 4 miles to Hoosier Pass and nearby access to multiple trailheads. Our family of four relaxed in this well maintained house with 3 comfortable and clean bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit after days of hiking, biking and fly fishing. Two cooks were able to work in the small kitchen, which was well stocked with baggies, foil, condiments, spices, dish detergent, etc. We shopped for groceries at City Market. We celebrated a birthday dinner at the Hearthstone Restaurant-4 stars and also had dinner one night at the Canteen Taphouse and Tavern which had very good food, especially the Korean barbecue tacos and 4 cheese Mac'n Cheese and lunch at Soupz On-good sandwiches and soup! We hiked Spruce Creek Trail, Hoosier Pass Trail, McCullough Gulch Trail and my daughter hiked Quandary Peak solo with friendly companions met along the way. My husband and son had a wonderful day of fly fishing an hour or so away. We also explored local Brewery/Distillery Bike tour, which is better done on your own, rather than local tour guides and with in town hybrid bike rentals if needed. Don't miss the free gondola trip from town to Peak 8. It was a great vacation in a comfortable home near a beautiful town that I hadn't been to for many years. Thanks for sharing, Cheryl.

Owner's Response: Great review! Thanks for all the detail and suggestions for activities. There is so much to do in the area, but still nice and quiet at the cabin! We hear the occasional trucks shifting to make the climb up the pass, but we like being a few blocks to the main highway during the winter for easy access.

Peaceful, secluded, picture perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The property is everything it said it would be and more. From the mountain views and fresh air, to the visit from a cow moose and her calf, the hummingbird, the gentle sounds of the streams, relaxing in the hot tub, and grilling our favorite home cooked dinners. The beds were out of this world comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need.

On our visit, we took in a couple of hikes at Spruce Trail and Saphire Trail at Dillon Lake. We visited Peak 8 by gondola and walked the streets of Breckenridge. Took in a little visit to the Dillon Lake Marina and tried our luck at a little fishing.

Clint's Bakery is amazing! We ate there several times. Shopped for souvenirs at Colorado Concept.

I wouldn't have changed a thing and hope to come back for another visit.

Owner's Response: You saw the moose, too?!? I hope she's still there when I get there in a few weeks. :-) Haven't tried Clint's yet, but will give it a try. Thanks for the great review! Cheryl Q.
