Comfortable, well-described and great value- I will plan go back to this nice neighborhood.
The property was very clean, neat, and nicely appointed with good quality furniture, bedding and thoughtful items. The queen bed was comfortable and I had very restful sleep. The kitchenette was reasonably well stocked, clean and ready to use, and although I took no meals there, it would have been fine. Air conditioning (whole house) worked well and unobtrusive.
The property and location look safe, seems secure and I would not worry about my wife or daughter staying alone here. Lighting worked properly and it is well lit, including the bath.
Parking is on street right beside the property and about 100 feet from the door, easy, safe and not crowded. The chickens are very friendly, and they never made any noise when I was there early or late. They compliment the Austin experience.
It is nice that the property is right across the street from the golf course and walking trail. Interestingly, about a year before, my family and I had walked right by this home several times while on evening exercise, and we liked the quiet and green nature of the area. So when I realized where this was, I wanted to stay, and I was not disappointed in any way.
The one issue I had was when I first tried to check in because I didn't have the notification message or email. It turned out that this issue was NOT due to the owner, but was a problem with the Homeaway notification system. When I messaged the owner, she replied very quickly and made sure I got into the property while Homeaway was trying to solve the matter, which did not take long. I really commend the owner for being sure I was taken care of. Homeaway also contacted me several times to be sure I was taken care of and satisfied, which I am.
Homeaway's rep told me that because I booked less than 14 days prior to the first night, my property access notification didn't get sent. Hopefully the company gets that fixed as they do encourage customers to book last minute. But in my case, the owner, and Homeaway, came through to be sure I was not stranded or dissatisfied.
I would certainly recommend this owner and property again without hesitation.
Quaint, great location, easy access.
We enjoyed our stay here. We didn’t spend much time actually being here, as planned, but the bed was comfy, everything was clean, offered soap shampoo conditioner and such for free. Loved the chickens. Would have liked to know it’s not on a little golf course though so we could have brought our clubs! Thanks for a great stay!
All the things we wanted and more!
We needed a super comfy place to basically crash after a long plane trip on two hours of sleep in three days with a cranky teething baby when we had to come into town for a one night business trip. We were going to be out late at a party with the amazing Richard Garriott ;) and needed to be on our A game running on fumes. We only planned on using the unit for sleeping mid afternoon and in the wee hours/morning and this place was amazing. QUIET, peaceful, well appointed with anything you might need (I forgot my conditioner and some was waiting on me!). For two battle torn travel parents I wish we could have stayed a whole week and just slept. The hosts waved to us but did not engage until we said "Hi" on the way out which was actually kinda nice as though, I would have loved to chat typically, when I say we were tired I do mean it. Super super convenient to downtown and not difficult to access from the airport. When we visit Austin again we will without question look to book this place first. We stayed 1 night during SXSW and the rate was 1/3 of that of surrounding hotels and the place is easily larger than my first apartment and has EVERYTHING you might need minus a stove (there is a microwave, a small fridge, a dishwasher, and a full sized washer and dryer). And might I tell you the place has plenty of fluffy towels... something I have to mention as its something I feel like people forget to include enough of and certainly the one thing I miss when I am away from home. I also want to mention though the shower looks small at first glance me and my husband both agreed that the shower in this unit may be our favorite shower of all time, it gets HOT so be careful, but it might have saved my life as I was not doing well in the attitude department when I got off the plane and hand to get ready to be super social at the event. I thought I might have lost my poor husband in it as I'm fairly sure he would have rather skipped all of the adventure and just hung out in the shower. ;)
Nice place for a stay
This was a great place to stay. Roomy and has tiny amenities that made a huge difference. The only thing is that this place is missing though, is a dehumidifier, it’s on the basement floor and has a damp feeling to it.
Definitely recommend to stay here though!
Everything was perfect. The communication, cleanliness, comfortable bed, location… And the chickens! Thank you so much!
Very nice and clean and quiet
Great location for Longhorn ballgame and local eateries.
