What about living in a comfortable fully equipped real Caribbean Colombian apartment, 50 meters from a gorgeous palm-fringed boulevard and beach.
Well, you just arrived digitally.
The spacious (77 m2) colorful decorated apartment is located in a small, stylish and shady 4 story building with palm trees in the garden where receptionists provide a secure and friendly atmosphere around the clock.
The apartment has a big living room with balcony on the front side overlooking the garden and the street, 2 bedrooms (each with a double and a single bed), 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen. Of course the apartment has bed sheets, towels, wifi, cable TV and a (hidden) private safe for valuables.
Once you've settled down you'll find yourself living in the hart of the laid back but lively part of Santa Marta that's called El Rodadero, surrounded by restaurants, bars, terraces, supermarkets, bakers, dive shops, tour operators, bustling little markets, banks, ATM machines and spontaneous beach parties, to name a few.
Sometimes people, afraid to end up in a choking tropical stove, express their concerns. No sweat guys! The apartment is pretty fresh because of the shade and the ever blowing wind that flows freely around the building and through the apartment if you open doors and windows. You might prefer to cool the place some more however. For that purpose we equipped the apartment with the best possible Caribbean cooling system: big adjustable ceiling fans that provide you with a tailor made breeze while producing that typical soft and relaxing sound that eases the mind (The last thing we want is you locking yourself in, getting a cold from a gasping airco that forces you to have all doors and windows closed before it has some effect).
Any questions, or help needed? We, the owners, a Dutch-Colombian couple, are Santa Marta veterans, both in renting apartments as in knowledge of the area. We're happy to help you out; that's all included in the rental price. The Homeaway system is new to us, but if you need some reviews from other sources, just let us know.
A laid back Caribbean lifestyle or an active vacation do start here.
We speak Spanish, English, German, Dutch, so don't hesitate to contact us :-)

We just loved the architecture of the building and the location. Just round the corner a gorgeous boulevard and beach, small restaurants, terraces and shops. The first time we walked through the building and entered the apartment we said to each other: “this is home”. And it still is. We'll be happy to share that feeling with you! Because we live in another apartment in the same building we will be your temporary neighbours. Just drop in whenever you like, you're welcome any time. We (Isabel, Harry & our very sweet mother/in law) are always available for help, a conversation & a good laugh. Looking forward meeting you!
Copacabana apartment is very close to the beach. The apartment is spacious and has everything that you need for your holiday. It is really central to the beach , the supermarkets , restaurants and bars. It has a nice balcony for your breakfast and in tghe evening for a cold beer. The owners Isabel and Harry, are nice , helpfull people. We can recommand this place.
Santa Marta, the oldest city of Colombia, is a laid back Caribbean 'pirate hangout' well known for its beaches, specially that of the famous 'picture book' Tayrona Park. The zone hosts beaches in all sorts of styles and sizes, from popular to pristine.
But Santa Marta also hosts Colombia's highest mountain, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, with lush forest on its slopes and peaks up to 5.775 meters. Nowhere on earth the differences in height are bigger than in Santa Marta!
And if you think you saw it all, just go a little further on the road and explore the desert zone La Guajira.
Unnecessary to say that the possibilities to enjoy Santa Marta are endless. From laid back beach vacations to active 6-day hikes through the mountains to the Indian remains of 'The Lost City'; Colombia's own Machu Picchu.
