We rented 1002E for 4 nights, arriving on a Sunday. The instructions provided by the rental agency suggested that because the office would be closed upon arrival, we would need to check in on Monday to pay for parking and wrist bands. Monday morning we went to our vehicle to find a “parking violation ticket” from the “security” guy. The ticket was written at 11:20pm on Sunday. We weren’t even given a chance to check-in because the office was closed! The parking pass was over $25, wristbands were $3.17 each. It was never explained exactly what the wristbands were for. We went to the office to pay for the pass and bands, and the elderly lady at the desk acted liked she didn’t understand the term “check-in”. She was very unfriendly. There was also a $35 charge for use of the beach chairs. Other condos offer this for free. The condo is very small, the bed was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the sofa, which wasn’t much better. Also, the toilet clogged the first day and there was no plunger in the unit. Needless to say, we will not return to the Sunbird. The only decent thing was the view from the balcony. We will definitely stay elsewhere on our next trip.
Lovely condo, great view of the water
Good size for the price, enjoyed the balcony for morning coffee and meals. The extra parking pass and armbands should be included with the rental considering you are in a locked gate community for accessing the parking lot and beach access. Century 21 was easy and quick to answer questions.
Budget vacation with quirks.
We have stayed at the Sunbird 3 or 4 times before, but the property is starting to show its age.
The beach was beautiful and uncrowded. The sunsets were great. The condo could use some painting touchups, better lighting and a few more things in the kitchen. We love the location, but we will shop around next time we visit PCB.
Great for the price...
-Private-this room is on the corner
-Plenty of space for two people
-Right next to Pineapple Willy's
-Stocked with everything we needed
-You have to pay ~$21 for a car tag, plus ~$1.50 (ish-I can't remember exact amounts) for wrist bands to wear your entire stay. I wish this cost would have been included in the price of the stay.
-Gate code-it wasn't a problem using the code to get into the parking lot until they changed the code mid-stay without us knowing. We had to call to get the new code. Not a big deal, but annoying.
-The keypad to enter the code to get back into the gate from the beach was broke, so my husband had to climb on the fence each time to reach over and do it from the other side in order for us to get in. This is more of a building issue than the room, but good to know these things if you are wanting to stay here.
-The bed was highly uncomfortable.
We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room-just to shower and sleep. It worked for us just fine and the price was great. We would probably stay here again, just maybe bring some type of padding for the bed.
Great stay overall
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was great, and the beach was gorgeous. The only cons were being charged extra for parking & wrist bands...seems like that should be included.
Room was slightly dirty. Needs some basic updating. Other than that, it was a fun stay.
