About Darlene - A1 Vacations Customer Since July 1998

We have been serving renters for 33 years, with cabins of all sizes and from Sonora lodge to Pinecrest, Strawberry and Leland Meadows. From 1-7 bedrooms, sleeping 2-30, 1-4 baths. Great family fun vacation rentals. When we started 33 years ago the cabins didn't have TV, vcrs were new but we thought people would want the rest and relaxation of the great outdoors. The cabins had books and board games! There was no such thing as WiFi or cell phones. I still remember car phones in a bag in the 90's. Things have really changed since then. Now there's Verizon cell coverage. Originally I did it myself, booked, cleaned, hauled wood, shoveled snow. Then it became a family thing! My 7 kids grew up with the business. It's still very much a family business we all do our very best! 2093520161

Rustic Cabin

  • 3 of 5

This place is pretty rustic with antiques aplenty. Those antique decorations can make the cabin seem a little scary at night, but once you seem them during the day, you get acquainted with them. The central heating and air was really nice to have! It helped make the cabin feel comfortable during the day and at night. A big downside to this cabin is that it does not come with wifi. Make sure someone in your group has Verizon as their phone provider to ensure you have access to the internet/phone calls if needed!

Owner's Response: Hi, the cabin is very beautiful just as the photos show. A lot of antiques and beautiful decor. Knotty pine log cabin, hardwood floors. WiFi is not advertised for this cabin. Please read amenities and description. Too many trees for satellite. But we do advertise that Verizon has coverage. Sorry you felt you had to judge a beautiful cabin but your lack of social media for one weekend. Beautiful place, beautiful deck, beautiful forest, hiking, fishing, swimming, lakes, rivers, wild life. Too bad you couldn't see the forest through the trees. We love it here...great family getaway. Thanks, Darlene

Very cute cabin, clean and cozy!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with another family for a 3 day weekend. Cabin has lovely charm and nice size bedrooms. Main sitting/TV area is on the small side but it was ok since kids used their own screens and retreated to a bedroom.

Frozen. Ran out of propane twice over the weekend!

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was beautiful but not very clean. Ran out of propane on Saturday night and ran out again during the night. Maintenence gave us enough for few hours. Got back to freezing around 4 am. We got up early and left. Would not stay here again. Found a big black spider in my bed as well. Firewood was wet for most part of it.

Owner's Response: Hi, I'm so sorry you felt this way, about the cabin. It's a beautiful place. The cabin was opened prior to your arrival I appologize if maintenance left some foot prints inside. With all the storms and power outages, everyone has been a good sport. We do advertise the cabin as woodstove heat with wood provided and propane heater backup. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, maintenance came out when you called at 10pm Saturday night to report the outage. They made sure you knew where the wood was and brought some in for you, made sure the woodstove was heating. We do our very best. Outages happen and we try to make sure everyone is safe and sound. My crew works very hard. I would like to thank all my guests over the last few weeks who have experienced the power outages and hung in there and had a great time..many of you txt me during the storms and expressed your appreciation for my crew (as well as how quickly pge worked) coming to check on every one with candles and flaslights, help with chains, stuck vehicles, some of you were lost and my crew came out, we appreciate you so much. Its a pleasure. Thanks, Darlene

Plenty of fun and snow

  • 3 of 5

The property fit our needs. Plenty of parking for visitors, plenty of snow for the kids to play, and close to Dodge Ridge. None of the rooms upstairs are enclosed, but this was not a concern for our family needs. The listing and description were all correct. The cabin itself and inside features are a bit dated, but it was not a concern of ours. The cabin fit our needs and I would recommend to anyone looking to stay within the area. During our stay we played in the snow, visited Strawberry, and went snowboarding at Dodge.

Full house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with 10 adults/teens. The kitchen was very efficient. Everything was spotless. The only problem we had was that the cabin was so cold when we got there. We froze the first evening. Tried to get the wood stove going but the wood was damp. We sat around in our coats all Friday evening. By Sat. we got it warm and it was quite cozy. Be aware that the upstairs rooms are all open to each other like a loft. Bring some movies ---no cable. Thank you for letting us enjoy this nice home.

Birthday Celebration

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. There were 6 of us celebrating my birthday and we each had our own room and there was room for 4 more. We were close to restaurants and stores but far enough for quiet and even saw deer run by
