This recently renovated, first floor apartment in an ancient palace, is located in the heart of the historical centre of Lecce, just a few paces from the cathedral, Lecce’s monuments, restaurants and cafes. The apartment is on 2 levels. On the first level there are two fully furnished master bedrooms, living room with double sofa bed, kitchen an 1 bathroom. On the second level there are a lovely terrace with an amazing view on Lecce's monuments and the second bathroom.
Accessories: washing machine, dishwasher, clothes drying rack, oven, fridge and freezer, TV, radio and CD player. fireplace.
Stefano, who speaks excellent English, was welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. He even knows where to find free parking. The apartment was just as advertised, reached by walking up one flight of stairs. (There are more stairs within the apartment to reach the second bathroom and the terrace.) We had a wonderful week and fell in love with Lecce.
All I can say is thank you Setefano! He is the ultimate host into an apartment that is a palazzo more than an apartment.
In the heart of Lecce (which is a must go to city), this apartment offers everything that an apartment needs including great rooms, beautiful art pieces, all the mod cons, and a beautiful rooftop terrace.
You can't ask for in a host that is stefano. Thanks for all your hints, and the rest. Our only disappointment is that we only had 4 nights!
This apartment is part of a grand old mansion of high ceilings and large rooms plus 2 modern bathrooms with small showers. Well furnished and provisioned. An easy walk brings you to the stores and restaurants in the Centro. Lecce is truly a treasure –-to be living inside the walls of this city was something special. Friendly and helpful Stephano, the property manager, negotiated our arrival and located parking for us. We managed to park for free during our stay. If coming by car, be sure to set your GPS arrival point for “Piazza Tancredi,” not the house address. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this apartment in Lecce. So much better than a hotel! The location of the apartment was great…it was in a quiet area of the center…just paces away from restaurants and the more active piazzas. The apartment is well furnished with an updated interior that does not take away from the character. The sink and mirror area were separate from the bathroom facilities, so that one could be using it for make-up and grooming while another could be showering. The living room space divides the two bedrooms, which made for private sleeping areas. Though, two more can sleep on the sleeper sofa located there. The Wi-Fi worked well. The kitchen is well appointed with appliances, toaster oven, and even an espresso/cappuccino maker that Stefano showed us how to use. Speaking about Stefano – very amiable and extremely helpful. He was there to hand us the keys to the apartment and to explain everything---how things worked in the apartment, points of interest and how to get around in Lecce. He noted where places were located on map. He gave us some names of restaurants and offered to make reservations for us. We were also very fortunate, as he was available to accompany us to two wineries in Lecce. We definitely would recommend this apartment and Lecce. Beautiful place to stay while staying in a beautiful city with beautiful people. Grazie mille, Stefano!!! Gerry & Mark
This property was accurately described in relation tp location, layout and facilities. In fact, it exceeded expectations.
The apartment was in the heart of the historical city and, therefore, close to restaurants, museums and all amenities. The railway station is particularly close allowing convenient transport links to explore Puglia.
The apartment is in a building of character giving you a real sense of history. It is extremely well equipped and everything one would need is provided. There is a roof-top terrace which is private and great for relaxing during the day as well as enjoying the lit up roof top view of Lecce at night. Overall the property is tastefully decorated and well maintained while at the same time being homely.
Stefano, our host, was extremely helpful allowing us to arrive at 9.30am with no extra cost and he spent time providing information about transport, WIFI and recommending local markets etc. Nothing was too much trouble.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment as we had a fantastic time in this homely, high quality and value for money accommodation.
Jane and John.
Lovely apartment with everything you need. It was a delight to work in a well-equipped kitchen. Ideal location within the historical centre so quite quiet with minimal traffic. The pictures really do tell the truth!
Stefano's help made all the difference, offering the added dimension of being advised where to go for the best vegetables, meats, restaurants and even gelatto made Lecce an even more special place.
We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.
Lecce (lonely planet's top ten 2010)A baroque city in the South of Italy that's been nicknamed 'the Florence of the South', Lecce is an architecture lovers dream, and anyone else's picturesque and archetypal Italian experience. With its own obelisk, striking cathedral and maze of pretty little squares, getting lost in little Lecce is a pleasure far more valued by its fans than the more common local option: straight to the beaches.
