Situated on a slight rise above beautiful and pure (it's the drinking water supply for Portland) Sebago Lake, the property is, literally seconds down the path to a beautiful beach. In addition to the indoor charcoal grill guests will find a Weber Gas Grill on the patio. The property has grown to 3 homes over the years maintaining the true character of the 'Classic Maine Cottage'.

About Andy Shulman

A Flight Attendant with a major Airline for over 38 years Andy loves to travel but always loves to 'come home to Maine'... how could it be otherwise as he was 2 months old when he spent his first summer there. An avid boater, make sure to ask him to take you over to the island to see the Eagles nest or to go out on an early evening shoreline cruise on his beloved 24' deck boat. As a Flight Attendant, Andy is keenly aware of people's needs and has taken his role of 'host' at the property in Maine seriously. His desire is to ensure everyone has the best time possible. Andy's motto, stolen from Margaret Merriweather Post, is: 'If you don't Look for it and if you don't ask for it, You're, more than likely not going to get it'. Andy asks his guests they NEVER begin a request or question with: 'I hate to bother you...' - he's there to BE bothered as he wants to ensure everyone has a great time.

Andy Shulman purchased this cabin in 1949

Why Andy Shulman chose Sebago

Andy's Dad, Phil (or better known as 'Uncle Phil to everyone on the lake) purchased the property in 1948, beginning to build the first cottage in 1949. The property has remained in the Shulman family with 4 generations of Shulmans creating magnificent memories over the years.

What makes this cabin unique

Sebago Lake is world famous for its purity and is the drinking water supply for the city of Portland. The lake is as deep as 300' in the middle with wonderful sandy beaches. While the property is not directly on the lake, the large shared beach, raft and dock is, literally seconds away down a path from the house. the beach is a 'shared beach' with neighbors but, large enough to ensure everyone has lots of 'personal space'. A dock (for pick up and drop off) is available as well as a raft. For hikers, the property abutts the Sebago Lake State Park with great, well marked hiking trails. Great eateries and shopping are nearby.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This was our first year at Sylph Lodge and we are booked again for next year! From the time we first spoke with Andy until the day we left, he and Christopher were so responsive and welcoming! There was enough room for five adults, two children and two dogs without ever feeling that we were on top of each other. The outdoor space is spacious and very comfortable and that VIEW!

No words could adequately describe this place and experience. We cannot wait to return next year!

Our 2nd Home

  • 5 of 5

July was the 3rd year we have stayed at Sylph Lodge and would never even think to stay anywhere else on the lake. Every year, Andy and Christopher welcome us back to what myself, my husband, and our children consider to be our 2nd home. Sylph Lodge is simply a magical cabin where we can rest, recharge, and create fun family memories that grow year after year. The house is fully stocked with everything you'll ever need and Andy always seems to surprise us with something new. We've already booked again for our 4th summer and can't wait!!

Owner's Response: First off - we are speechless!! Your review speaks of everything we want Sylph Lodge to be - your "second home". We have worked very hard over the past years to make this feeling happen - you and all of our families are important to us - not just in the sense of a dollar figure, but as "family". We are thrilled to welcome you back in summer 2016 for your 4th year with us - truly, you are a wonderful family. Thank you for taking the time to write your review - but, most of all, thank you for becoming part of the Sylph Lodge family!

Family Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The three days we stayed at Sylph Lodge had to be some of the most relaxing hours of this past summer! There were 4-6 adults and 3 children at various times of the day, and we all had plenty of space and together time. Christopher made delicious fruit squares to greet us and Andy was helpful and great fun as a host. The views could not be beat and one of the kids even went in the water!! Brrrr! We cooked and laughed and sat around the outdoor fireplace and plain visited with each other. Bliss.

Owner's Response: Your family is wonderful! We are so glad you all enjoyed - what we refer to - as "The Magic of Sylph Lodge". We hope you will come and stay with us again, perhaps taking advantage of our "off peak" reduced fall weekly rates.

We came from Guam!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year staying at Andy's cabin on Sebago Lake. We traveled all the way from Guam to enjoy two weeks in the cool woods of Maine. Andy (and Christoper) were amazing hosts who really did go above and beyond to make our stay was wonderful! The cabin is spacious, fully equipped, and very well maintained. My husband and I are having "Maine withdrawal" pains and we will definitely be back. Thanks again for an amazing two weeks!

Owner's Response: It, as always, was a pleasure having you at Sylph Lodge!! You arrived your first year as guests and left as "family" - you returned this year as "family" once more. We look forward to welcoming you back "home" next summer.

Great House, Amazing Value

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Maine/Sebago Lake the other day and we had a fabulous experience staying at this house. It was perfect for our families (9 total; 5 kids and 4 adults). It was just enough room for everyone. The lake access was close and very easy to get to. The lake was cool, crisp and pure as can be. The kids loved jumping off the floating dock. We also saw some bald eagles - truly magical. The owner was the nicest, most accommodating landlord you could ask for, and so are the neighbors. The area is beautiful and all round, just a wonderful family vacation. We would definitely return, especially for the price. We looked and looked and this was by far the best deal.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind words. We try very hard to provide great value for your hard earned money - we understand that a family vacation is a major expense, often one that represents a good deal of saving and "going without" over the course of the year or years. Our goal is to not only meet your expectations - but to exceed them.
