One cottage away from waterfront with views of the lake and access to small private beach. Relax on the front porch and enjoy watching The Mount Washington boat travel by. Fireworks can also be seen from the porch, which are scheduled frequently throughout the summer. Walking distance from Weirs Beach boulevard with shops, restaurants, arcades, mini-golf and water park. Take the train to Meredith or the Mount Washington boat around the lake, both of which leave from the boulevard. Cottage has parking for 1 vehicle off street and 1 in front of cottage. 3/4 bathroom and full kitchen with plenty of cookware, plates, etc.
I have been going to the Weirs since the 70's. I chose this cottage because it is close to my family's and an opportunity to stay close to the lake.
Taking a walk down to the boardwalk in the morning or evening. Swimming just steps away from cottage and watching the the fireworks from the front porch.
I stayed at this cottage with 4 friends over 4th of July weekend and it was exactly what I thought it would be: charming, rustic, with beach access and in a great location right in the heart of Weirs by the boardwalk. The owner was responsive and great to work with. We knew exactly what to expect and even got a positive surprise with more bedding/towels/beach toys available for use than we thought. The experience was pretty perfect. The only criticism would be that the private beach area isn't as large as I thought it would be, but still plenty of room to lay out and once you're in the water, the lake is huge and obviously all yours!!! Would definitely recommend this property for someone looking for a charming cottage for a weekend getaway!
First time I've ever rented a cottage and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Less than a 5-minute walk to Weir's beach and the boardwalk. The house was clean and roomy enough for 4 people. Nice collection of kitchen items as well as beach toys and chairs. Kitchen could use a table or small island for food preparation as we had to keep moving things around while we were cooking. Beds were pretty comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. Enough room in the bathroom but it would have been nice if the door closed all the way. Never ran out of hot water for showers or dishes. Small front porch with a pretty nice grill and an okay view. Having a small accessible beach area 30 feet from the front door was great for those times when you just want a quick dip. Houses on this street are VERY close together which was fine for most of the trip but when someone came to stay in the house behind (with some of the most obnoxious kids I've ever seen), we had to go out to tell them to please keep it down because we were trying to sleep. Overall a really nice experience and I would recommend it for families with children older than 5 who don't need to take naps or go to bed early as the surrounding noise could be a problem.
I found this property online here and felt safe about the reservation. I felt the fee charged per week was fair so I booked two weeks. We had a blast! The area is small and on the quiet side, but there is SO much to do. There is the boardwalk that is home to the train and the Mt. Washington boat tours. There is great food in a variety of locations, ice cream, Weir's Beach, arcade's, drive-in movies, water slides and that is all within a 5 minute walk from the cottage.
The cottage has a parking space that is a covered area, that is a bonus, from the front porch you can see the water. If you walk 20 feet down the hill your at the beach for the cottage, a great clean space where you can swim, kids can play. The neighbors are nice as well, and there was not a lot of people there, in fact we were alone on the beach most of the time. You cannot use the docks, just the beach, but that was ok. The shower is great, there is no tub. The air conditioner worked great, stove, fridge and anything you can imagine that you could need was right there. We provided our own sheets for the two double beds and twin provided upstairs. There was cable tv and a microwave, 2 fans, full kitchen, just bring your own food. And when we were not there we traveled around the beautiful White Mountain area... It is a great little home. that is how we felt when we were there.'
I WOULD rent again.
