Greg and Stef's place

GREAT stay - plenty of room for 5 plus, and everything needed is provided by the great hosts. Perfectly situated in Sylvan Park - walking distance to Hattie B's (which was particularly important for our party) and other places.

Excellent rental!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a few nights here and were very pleased with everything it had to offer. It's nestled in a quiet neighborhood with quick and easy access to I-40. Inside it boasts a fun and clean atmosphere with all the essential amenities. We loved the unique touches, like the garage door window in the bedroom and the interior decorations. We found some neat shops and activities that were right around the corner. And the family who rents this place is also so friendly and hospitable. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in the future!

The Perfect Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I drove down to Nashville from Buffalo, NY and I can honestly say we picked the best location and home to stay in! The apartment/home was cozy and warm. The layout was perfect, open kitchen space, large bathroom, and a great size bedroom. Stephanie and Greg even had a cute little binder that told us popular places to eat, drink, dance and shop! The neighborhood was adorable and close to everything! I have already recommended this place to multiple people. If you are planning a stay in Nashville this is the home you want!

Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had a great stay in Sylvan Park! This new property was clean and convientient to all attractions. We didn't use the kitchen for cooking but it was well stocked for that. My husband and I are runners and we enjoyed being close to the Greenway. The property has everything you need for a stay away from home. There is no washer/dryer, which I knew before hand, but decided later would have been the only thing nice to have that wasn't there. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

About greg and stephanie

Greg and Stephanie are living the dream. Greg has worked as a songwriter in the music business for more than 20 years. Stephanie is a stay at home mom. They homeschool their 3 children and love to travel as well as explore and take advantage of all the parks and greenways around Nashville.

greg and stephanie purchased this house in 2004

Why greg and stephanie chose Sylvan Park

We love old homes and this quiet downtown neighborhood is loaded with plenty of them. We're the 3rd family to own this property since it was built in 1906 and have spent the past 11 years renovating it. It sits on a beautiful oversized quiet corner lot and we were married in the backyard the year after we moved in.

What makes this house unique

Sylvan Park is a very safe, walkable, quiet downtown neighborhood. In addition to all the historic restaurants, the past 2 years we have seen a surge of growth here with many new restaurants within walking distance, including an amazing new vegan bakery on the next block. The drive over to lower Broadway , the Ryman, Hall of Fame or Vanderbilt takes about 5-10 minutes depending on time of day/traffic and there are several different routes from our house.

Car: recommended

We are in Sylvan Park, a lovely downtown neighborhood with lots of trees, old homes and great local restaurants including the famous Hattie B's Chicken, Slow and Low BBQ bistro, Park Cafe, Star Bagel, Cafe Nonna Italian, Cafe Coco Italian,, Vegan Vee's Bakery, Miel Restaurant, Dose Coffee, Headquarters Coffee, Woodlands Vegetarian Indian, Chatteax French Cuisine, Grand Cru Wines, Bro's Cajun Cuisine, Flip Burger, Avo (new raw Vegan!) the historic Wendells Meat and 3, Bobby's Dairy Dip, Local Taco, Neighbors Pub, McCabe's Pub, M.L. Rose Pub and Restaurant, and MacDougals Chicken plus more!

There are bike rental stations all around Nashville and one located just 5 blocks from our house so you can pick up a bike and ride the greenway or ride downtown, your choice! Centennial Park/The Parthenon at the Vanderbilt Campus where you can feed the ducks is just 2.4 miles from your front door, We also have a 3.8 mile paved Greenway that runs along the beautiful Richland Creek and McCabe Golf Course. The Greenway is a loop that connects our neighborhood with all the restaurants and shopping on Whitebridge Avenue.

We are 4.2 miles from Broadway Avenue (the Honkeytonks), where you can visit the Hall Of Fame Museum, Hard Rock Cafe, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, The historic Ryman Auditorium, the Johnny Cash Museum, The Goo Goo's factory/store, Jacks Famous BBQ, The Titans Stadium and tons of other downtown attractions.

Sylvan Park is very quiet and residential. Its very walkable and a great break from the traffic and commotion of the tourist district. In less than 10 minutes you can be right in the middle of all the downtown activity, or on a beautiful greenway enjoying a slow flowing Tennessee creek listening to birds and seeing hawks fly overhead.
