Why Marie Booking Team chose Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois
Our team selected this boat for the experience. We do propose since 10 years several boats on the Seine, our guests have always been thrilled. This one is the closest from the Champs Elysees. The size, outdoor space is for us a unique way to stay in Paris

Can't beat the location!
The boat was adequate, but we would have liked more plates/silverware/glasses appropriate for a family of five (with children). On the other hand there were easily more than a dozen sharp chef's knives just strewn about in the silverware drawer making for a dangerous reach in (I cut my finger myself). The toilet was less than ideal (rocked when sitting on it and hard to flush), but it did what it needed to do in the end. Shower didn't have much pressure, but with patience and lots of rubbing we got clean. Biggest concern though was airflow. Only one fan (plus a tiny one that did nothing) that was in high demand despite relatively pleasant temperatures outside. There should be at least two more - one for each bedroom and one for the salon. At night some of the bateaux mouches had bright spot lights that shine out to illuminate the quai - which meant us. Bright lights directly in our eyes while on the terrace, putting us on display for whom ever was on the passing boat. Luckily there were only a handful of those each night and only lasted the 30 seconds or so it took for the boat to pass. However there was a "security" floodlight on our own terrace that was (I think) supposed to be on a motion detector, but it went on and off by itself all night long at unpredictable intervals. We contacted the owner about it both because it was incredibly annoying on the terrace, but also because its location directly above the window in the children's room meant that their room was alternately comfortably dark for sleeping and then flooded with bright light on and off, on and off all night long. We were told there was no way to turn it off, so we draped a sheet over it for the remainder of our stay and it solved the problem nicely.
The location really makes up for the shortcomings of the boat. The sight of the Musée d'Orsay lit up at night was a gorgeous view from the terrace. You can also see the top of the Eiffel Tower. Access to le Jardin des Tulleries is super easy. We were able to walk to le Louvre and Notre Dame, even with 4 year olds. Eiffel Tower was only 3 RER stops away and Sacré Cœur only 3 metro stops. Location really couldn't be better for tourism.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay with only minor first world problems.
Some trade offs with a standard apartment - but they're worth making!
Location, location, location!
The time spent on the deck in the early mornings and the evenings, make this a wonderful place to stay and the location opposite the Musee d'Orsay means everything is walkable.
There are a few realities of living on a boat that make this a slightly compromised choice - ingress and egress are not the easiest and the bathroom is a little rudimentary, but all in all I'd recommend anyone to give it a try.
