The Springs is the perfect combination of relaxation and fun. Our back yard is surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping, making the deck private from neighbors. Three Mile Harbor is at the end of the block and Maidstone Beach is a short walk or bike ride. There are several restaurants and markets in the Springs for local flavor and convenience. East Hampton village, Amagansett and Bridgehampton are within minutes and offer endless restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, farmer's markets, parks and more!
East Hampton train station is a 10 minute drive. Cabs are available at the station.
The Jitney stops in the village -- also about 10 minutes away from our home.
Other Things to Note
Short walk to bay beach which is not crowded and private. Small grocery store right around the corner no need to travel far for basics. East Hampton village is only a 8-10 minute drive, also a play ground for the kids close by.
There is a bus that goes to East Hampton village then Bridge Hampton and passes both train and jitney stops. As well as taxi service for trips to village and beach.
A car is recommended but with a bar, restaurant, grocery store and beach within walking distance it's possible to do without.
I grew up in Suffolk and have always loved the Hamptons. I hope you get to enjoy a little slice of paradise this summer at our home.
Ann Gittleman purchased this house in 2015
Our family of 4 stayed at the cottage visiting family over Thanksgiving. The home was as lovely as pictured! All amenities were provided, and the house was super tidy. We enjoyed evenings by the fire and walks on the beaches. Shopping and delicious restaurants are close by, as is the ocean (if you prefer over LI Sound). Kids loved the big yard too!
we had an amazing stay over the columbus day holiday. the house is super comfy, cozy with a great living space. also a must is the outdoor shower! great access to some neat little restaurants up in the springs and loved that the pollock-krasner house was just down the road. a great little place for some r&r :)
ann was also an amazing host, very responsive and helpful!
The stay at the cottage was great! Close to town and secluded enough for down time. The cottage is exactly like the pictures posted. It is very clean and comfortable. Would have like to have a few more towels for the bath room including wash clothes and also was a little disappointed one of the sheets on the bed had a hole in it. A bit more lighting when you are coming up the drive would be great as it is very dark coming home late at night. Overall it is a great place to stay!
My girlfriends and I stayed here in July and had a great time. The house is exactly as advertised and is very comfortable. The deck in particular was lovely in the evening! The owners were available to answer all of our questions and left great instructions for restaurants and things to do in the area. I would definitely go back!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was super clean and exactly as advertised. It felt secluded but was pretty close to everything - nothing too fancy but perfect for us! I would hghly recommend it.
My husband, 18 month old daughter and I stayed at this cottage for a 4 day stay in August and had a great time! We were greeted with a note from the owners and a nice bottle of rose (great touch!)
It's located in Springs, about a 10 minute drive north of East Hampton town. There are a number of restaurants within a mile or two, and even more if you are up for venturing to East Hampton or other neighboring towns. We ate at Harbor Bistro on the water and Serafina's in town.
There is Maidstone beach about a mile away (on the bay), but this beach requires a town permit, which is unfortunate. It's not a bad walk but with an 18 month old, walking would have been a bit challenging.
Atlantic Beach in Amagansett is a large, ocean-side beach about 10 minutes away by car and you can buy a non-resident pass during the week. However, you cannot park there on the weekends without a town permit. Rather, you will need to park in town and walk to the beach or take public transportation.
I took a yoga class at Wolffer Estate on Friday morning, which was GREAT!
The cottage had a nice sized yard, complete with beautiful new deck. It was quiet in the evenings and felt very private.
The kitchen was nicely equipped and had most of the basics.
The bedrooms were clean and modern, with comfortable beds and nice bed linens. Each bedroom had a closet, but there were no dressers to put our clothing in - that would be a nice addition, so that guests don't have to live out of suitcases.
The cottage had central air and the bedrooms had ceiling fans, so temperature was never a problem.
The bathroom was clean and simple. The towels were nice and soft. :-) Note, there are no beach towels supplied. We brought our own, so it wasn't a problem; just something you need to plan for.
The outdoor deck was really nice and had a great table and chairs with umbrella. We ate many meals out here that we prepared on the grill! The outdoor string lighting was a nice, cute touch and provided great ambiance at night.
We also took advantage of the fire pit on two evenings - great way to spend an evening outside!
We had a great stay and the hosts were very accessible and accommodating! I would definitely stay here again, as it was the perfect size cottage for our family! My only suggestions for improvements would be the following: dressers in the bedrooms, a few more kitchen supplies and better clarity on beach access.
