We live in Seattle and this is our Dublin vacation home. We stay here 4 to 6 weeks per year. We lived here for 5 years before moving to the US in 2010, so the apartment itself and all of its furnishings are of very high quality. The apartment was also fully refurbished in February 2012.

The apartment is in a superb, hard to beat location for walking to every major attraction in central Dublin, including the Guinness Storehouse (15 minutes), St. Patrick’s Cathedral (2 minutes), Christchurch Cathedral (5 minutes), St. Stephens Green (10 minutes), Grafton Street (10 minutes), Trinity College (15 minutes), Temple Bar (15 minutes), O’Connell Street (15 minutes) and the GPO (the site of the 1916 Easter Rising).

The apartment is in a small building of 7 apartments, with only 1 other apartment on the same floor as ours so there are no noisy neighbors to contend with. The apartment is on Francis Street in an area known as Dublin's Antique Quarter.

Having been constructed in 2005 the apartment is quiet, warm in the winter, cool during the summer, with a small balcony and large floor to ceiling windows / doors which can be opened on to it.

The apartment has 2 good size bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. The master bedroom is en suite, with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The second bedroom also has ample wardrobe and drawer space. Both bathrooms have spacious, pumped, electric showers. The large living area has a 42” Panasonic flat screen plasma TV, and two large comfortable sofa’s. The dining area consists of a coffee table in the living area and also a breakfast bar with 3 stools. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, with an oven, fast heating hob and powerful extractor fan. There is a large fridge / freezer, a dishwasher, a washer / dryer, a microwave and a coffee maker.

There is free, fast cable internet service (with a wi-fi connection).

The apartment is located on the third floor (fourth by U.S. definition) of the building. There is an elevator and an intercom service from the apartment to the front door allowing for remote door opening.

There are numerous restaurants and ‘take-aways’ nearby offering a variety of cuisines, including Leo Burdocks, the famous Irish fish & chip shop. There is a small grocery store (Spar) within a 2 minute walk, on Patrick Street, and a large one (Dunnes Stores) a 10 minute walk away on George’s Street. There are lots of places within walking distance of the apartment - we can provide a list of these if necessary.


Power Outlets: Irish electrical sockets are the same as UK electrical sockets - if you are travelling from outside of Ireland or the UK and want to be able to charge your laptop, iPad or iPhone, please bring an adapter with you. In each of the bathrooms (in the light above the bathroom mirror) there are European / US 110 volt sockets (for guests that do not bring adapters).

Parking: If you plan on renting a car to see the countryside please ask us for our recommendations. Parking is available on the street outside outside the apartment - but note that this is paid parking (approximately $3.50 per hour). There are also a number of reasonably priced parking garages nearby, for longer term parking.

Long-Term Rentals: We will consider long term rentals (i.e. a month or longer) but PLEASE have your dates confirmed and your employers approval before contacting us and having us prepare a quote for you.

Check-In / Check-Out: check-in time is 3:00pm, and check-out time is 10:00am. An early check in or late check out may be possible but will depend on whether we have another booking the previous night (for early check-in) / next night (for late check-out). The absolute latest that we can allow a check-in is 9:00pm.

The spire of St. Patrick's Cathedral can been seen from the balcony (and the bells can be heard ringing), and, depending on the wind direction, the smell of the Guinness Brewery can be had when the windows are open!!

Great location!

My family of three really enjoyed our home away from home in Dublin. Clare greeted us right on time and was very pleasant. We were able to walk nearly everywhere, but if we wanted a taxi, we didn't have to wait long. The flat was comfortable and had everything we needed, just as listed. I recommend the yarn store down the street and the Jam Art gallery around the corner. We all suggest these restaurants: Matt The Thresher, Bang and The Larder. We enjoyed reading the notes in the guest book and followed a suggestion to visit Howth. Great quick trip to get out of the city. Would definitely return.

Amazing Property

My brother and I loved staying here. It was very comfortable and in a great location. It was easy to walk to many fantastic parts of Dublin, and I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay in Dublin!

We chose this flat because of its excellent location and we were not disappointed. It was literally a 5-10 minute walk to almost everything we wanted to visit in Dublin. The apartment is as depicted and was more than spacious for our family of 5. Greg and his sister Clare could not have been nicer or easier to work with and we will certainly stay here again the next time we're visiting.

Great property in a great location

From initial contact to arriving in Dublin Greg was very helpful. His charming sister met us when we arrived at the apartment and walked us through everything. The apartment is very clean, well equipped with good linens and comfortable beds. Our group was very comfortable and felt at home in this apartment.

Great Location in Dublin

We were very pleased with the Francis Street apartment. The location was within walking distance to central Dublin tourist areas.

The apartment matched the website pictures. It was clean and comfortable . The bedrooms had lots of storage.

The kitchen was small but well equipped for vacation cooking. The living room was comfortable. The building was quiet with an elevator. WIFI worked great

We were greeted by Claire who gave us a good rundown on the apartment and the area.

There was a small market nearby for stocking very basic groceries. Not many restaurants or pubs in the immediate vicinity.

Overall, we were very pleased with the apartment and the location and would not hesitate to recommend it for your stay in Dublin.
