We had a wonderful stay at Mandy's apartment in Orvieto. Charming and spacious enough for 2, it was the perfect place to base our two week stay to take an Italian language course. The rooms are comfortably appointed, especially the wonderful bed with luxurious linens. Centrally located, we easily walked to nearby bars, restaurants, and of course class. The farmers' market was a treat and provided wonderful charcuterie as well as fresh produce. Mandy had wonderful recommendations and was the epitome of hospitality. We are looking forward to our next stay here.
My wife and I stayed here for five nights in September 2016 and have already booked to return again for a week in the spring. Orvieto is a beautiful and fascinating town with lots of history, shops, restaurants. The apartment is perfectly located in the centre yet very quiet at night. The amenities were superb and we loved the décor and balcony among the pantiled roofs of Orvieto. Mandy made us feel at home and this helped to make our week most relaxing. The information Mandy gave us on arrival was excellent.
I would highly recommend this property. The apartment was delightful with all amenities(except a TV). Location is perfect. A super comfortable bed with plush linens. The best part was the hospitality shown by Mandy. Mandy goes above and beyond to make sure that you are familiar with the apartment and local restaurants, shops, etc. She was also very gracious with her time and took me to an outstanding restaurant at a cheese farm. Thanks again Mandy, you were a great host - someone who really cares about their guest! I hope yo visit again and participate in more of your individual tours.
My husband and I spent an idyllic month in this apartment in Orvieto. Susan, Mandy, and Victoria were friendly, helpful, and responsive. We loved the apartment itself - it looks even better than the photos if that is possible - and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the town. I did a lot of cooking and found the kitchen to be well equipped - we especially enjoyed the cappuccino maker. The apartment was roomy and the furniture and bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the four sets of french doors and spent a lot of time relaxing on the small deck out back. The location is excellent - everything is in walking distance (shops, bakery, the Duomo etc). We had a car for part of the month but we spent most of our time relaxing in Orvieto itself. We parked in the free lot at the base of the funicular and my husband would take the funicular down to pick up the car whenever we decided to go out of the city. There is paid parking close to the apartment but we didn't feel we needed the access. The wifi was excellent although there was one week when it was down due to a service provider problem (that's Italy for you - there was nothing the hosts could do to resolve it). There were stairs to reach the apartment which was fine by us but might be a problem for people with mobility issues.
We stayed in Orvieto for the month of June and the apartment was comfortably cool until the last week when it got quite hot. Victoria gave us fans which were helpful, but please note there is no a/c so it may be quite warm inside during the summer months, even with the windows open.
My husband and I would definitely love to come back and spend a month in the fall some year.
We really enjoyed our stay in Orvieto. The apartment itself was very comfortable, clean and beautiful, located walking distance to everything. We loved the view from the terrace and the quiet building. The apartment was well stocked with essentials like tea, coffee, spices, olive oil and even soap and shampoo... all those things you end up having to buy if they are not there, which some of the apartments we stayed in along our trips didn't provide. We appreciated not having to buy those things all over again. The hospitality provided by Mandy, Susan and Victoria was really incredible. Mandy organized a cab for us, which was waiting to pick us up from the train station on our arrival (since there was a parade scheduled in the town that day). Victoria met us for our check in and check out. She was super friendly and informative and she even gave us a ride to the train station when we were leaving. They were always available to help us if we had questions or needed help getting to one of the larger grocery stores (there is a small one right around the corner). There are options to do cooking classes or winery visits or other excursions which Mandy organizes. We even coincidentally ran into the apartment owner, Susan, at the train station, she was super nice and even stood with us on the platform until the train came and helped us lift our bags inside the train! If you want a relaxing stay and the opportunity to enjoy the best of Orvieto, this is your place. We would love to stay again.
I can not say enough good things about Apartment Valentino! First there were these amazing ladies that made our trip easy and very enjoyable. Susan and Victoria met us at the apartment and went over everything with us thoroughly. The minute we walked into the apartment I knew we had selected the right one. It was very like the pictures only better. It was well stocked with both cooking utensils ,spices, oil, coffee and most importantly a bottle of Orvieto Classico. There was also plenty of paper supplies and laundry detergent. The balcony is great for your morning coffee or evening glass of vino. It is surrounded by beautiful plants. Next, the location is unbelievable! It is right in the middle of the town yet enough off the main street that it is not too noisy. There are many restaurants, cafes, and stores within a short walking distance. The grocery is about 3 min walk. We rented a car during our stay here and took many side trips throughout the area. Victoria invited us out one evening to meet some of her friends and a great time was had by all. I almost forgot to mention how comfortable the bed was and that the curtains and linens in the apartment were beautiful. We did not get to meet Mandy until our last day there. It was nice to put a face to someone who had been very helpful throughout the rental process. The only downside is the stairs leading to the apartment. We are in our fifties and sixties and were not in very good shape prior to arrival but we left in better shape and conquered the stairs with no problems. Please give this property a try. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
