Great location and very relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We came here with our family of 5 and stayed for a week. There was one very large room for our boys to share and another large room for our daughter. The master bedroom was set a little off for privacy. It had a sliding glass door with beautiful view of the ocean. The kitchen was well-stocked and clean. The dining room had an AMAZING view of the ocean. We spent most our mornings just watching the waves. It was a short walk to the ocean and there were great tide pools and lots of cool rocks, sea glass, and driftwood to find. There were only two things that were not perfect: the light fixtures in the master bedroom bathroom have not been cleaned in a bit and the pellet stove was very noisy. I would definitely go to this home again.

A day of storms, then sunshine--fabulouse view

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at this home close to Brookings, OR. There were 7 of us. The view from all windows was to die for!!! We were there during a storm and it was so nice to stay inside nice and dry, but still be able to enjoy the ocean from all the big windows. Then the sun came out the next day--watched the sun rise over the hills, enjoyed a gorgeous day, including a hike down to the beach, then watched the sun set. When we walked into the house, you could tell immediately that it was nice and clean, beds excellent. Rooms were very spacious and as others said, well spaced from each other. The house was very well stocked--we did not have to go purchase anything but food. It would be a good idea to replace the carpet in the hall with some washable flooring. We have filed away the info on this house for future visits

Name says it all, "Million Dollar View"

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a month in this home, and you absolutely will never find a better view. We've rented vacation homes for 15-20 years and this was one of the best. As another reviewer mentioned, although older, this home was a quality build when originally built. Nice big rooms allowing for plenty of privacy between guests and 2 1/2 bathroom. Good sized kitchen with continued awesome views, and a master bedroom, bath, closet layout I wish I had in my own home.

This was our second vacation to Brookings for it's proximity to the Jedediah Smith portion of the Redwood Forest. We are avid hikers. This trip we also took a forest ranger-led kayak trip down the Smith River. Availability of good food options in Brookings is much better than 15 years ago. Ono's restaurant has best happy hour drinks and menu going. We ate dinner in Crescent City (22 minutes south into Calif) on the days that we hiked the Redwoods. Driving up and down the coast to other small towns and beaches is part of the discovery we love.

Loved exploring the protected beach in front of the house. Note that access is a path around a couple of houses and then down the shared wood walkway and steps. The wrap around deck was great for eating out on or happy hours, but be aware that even in summer the Oregon coast can be windy and chilly. Also, watch the tides, it make a tremendous difference how much beach and rocks are exposed (we use the DSG app). Oregon's attitude about dogs on the beach has us returning the past 5 summers as we travel with 2 of our doggie children.

If we return to Brookings yet again, this home would be our first choice.

Kerns

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was perfect for us. Loved the floor plan. The bedrooms were all 3 spacious and set off from one another for privacy. Sound did not carry from one area to another - plenty of space to have separate activity going on at the same time. Ample and comfy seating in the living room as well as in the dining area. Beds were comfortable. Huge amount of storage. Kitchen & some other areas of the house could use some updating but everything worked except the ice maker. And of course the view was all that it promised (except we could not see far enough west to see any sunsets in June) So nice to have a garage to park in and everything on one level. Laundry was nice too. Carpet was not a good choice for a "beach house" but it was clean. Steps to the beach were more than we had expected but they were sturdy wood with rails and no problem for the younger folks. Loved watching the seals on the rocks and even saw a family of otters. Good home for families, but young children cannot be outside unsupervised as it is right on the edge of a small cliff and unfenced. (small fenced area for a dog on one side of the house) We felt right at home and enjoyed our vacation. The heating/cooling system was excellent - kept everything consistent and we never heard it. This house was obviously first class quality when built even though it is an older home. Location was perfect for us. A short distance into Brookings for some good seafood at local establishments. And 30 miles north and south took us to everything we wanted to see - The Redwoods and plenty of beach access to explore this part of the coast, plus a jet boat ride on the Rogue River. We couldn't cover everything in a week. Excellent spot! Handling agency was very helpful and friendly and easily contacted.

Views forever

  • 4 of 5

We took a sisters trip to Oregon and stayed in this beautiful home. We were skeptical at first - because of the dated furniture - but all of us loved it by the second night! Plenty of room for the 4 of us, getting down to the beach was really simple and the views are to die for. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We had a blast :)

Our Room with a View

  • 4 of 5

Since we can no longer walk the beach, our desire was a "room with a view." The view was exactly as pictured! Fantastic! We were treated to a wonderful storm, cloudy days, and several real sunny days during our two week stay. We will recommend it to others and come back without question.

The pellet stove was a nice touch.

Our only wish, as older people we would have appreciated a more modern recliner in the living room. And perhaps furniture that is easier to get up from. This was our reason not to rate Excellent.

Property management was quick to respond to our questions.

A delightful vacation!
