Best Deck in town next to Subway Station HUGE WEEKDAY DISCOUNTS

Bedrooms 2
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Enjoy all that Chicago has to offer and then come home and relax on the huge (20 x20) deck with the best skyline views in the city. This is a charming Condo in the perfect location. Have the neighborhood feel with dozens of great places to go for a bite to eat within a couple blocks, and also explore Chicago's tourist highights which are all very easily accessible from the Subway station that is literally 30 feet from the front door.

The unit has all the amenities you will need for a weekend getaway or a month long stay. It features an upgraded kitchen with granite counters, brand new stainless appliances, dishwasher, laundry in unit, a 2 person jetted jacuzzi soaking tub, a large dining area, a nice desk and workspace with inspiring skyline views, 48 in. flat screen TV, cable, Wi-Fi, Steam Shower and a BBQ grill on the massive private deck.

The location is ideal. Take the Blue line door to door from O'Hare, it is 30 feet to the Chicago Ave Subway (no noise) station. The Chicago Ave. Bus is also 30 feet away. 3 Blocks to the Halsted Bus which will take you north to Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wrigley Field, etc and south to Greektown and the West Loop. The Property is 1 mile from the Sears (Willis) Tower, 1.25 miles from the Magnificent Mile, but in a great little neighborhood away from the hustle, bustle and tourists of the Loop and River North. If you are driving, we are located 1 block to the Exit/Entrance to the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/ 94).

The Layout of the Unit is great. There is a lot of common living space, with a nice dining area off of the Updated Kitchen. Another large space set up as an office with a desk facing the skyline. This leads to teh huge living rooom with seating for at least 10 around the large flat screen TV. The Downstairs Bathroom holds the huge Jetted soaking tub. Upstairs has the 2 bedrooms, one of which is 24x14. The large Master bedroom holds a King sized bed and 2 sets of bunk beds, one twin over twin and one twin over full, and has awesome views of the city. The smaller private bedroom has a Queen bed and a nice desk area. The upstairs bathroom features new upgraded vanity and tile and an enclosed steam shower. Laundry is found in the upstairs bath. The highlight is the monster deck out the back door of the second floor. Enjoy your morning coffee, a glass of wine before you head out, or have a great Chicago night staying in with friends and grilling out.

I lived in this unit for 10 years, so if you have any questions about the location or the unit, please ask. I love this city, and I want all of my guests to enjoy themselves too!

About Steve

I am a Realtor who specializes in the Wicker Park/ Bucktown/ Ukranian Village/ River West area. I have resided in the area for 15 years, and just love it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I can point out some fun under the radar activities that you will just love. This unit was actually my home for 10 years, and I hope you love staying there as much as I enjoyed it!!

Steve purchased this condo in 2001

Why Steve chose Chicago

I fell in love with this property when I listed it for sale for a client. At the time I was trying to find a building to house a bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast never materialized, but I like to keep the dream alive with this vacation rental unit.

What makes this condo unique

Check out the pictures of the deck. Its absolutely huge (20 x20). Have friends and family over for a Barbeque, or just enjoy the sunrise and sunset over the gorgeous skyline.

Room With A View

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is ideally situated 2 minutes from the sub way

There are plenty food options close by and also a CVS supermarket

The apartment is very spacious with a large lounge , dining room and Kitchen

Two bathrooms one downstairs and one upstairs

Two large bedrooms with lots of cupboard space

The roof deck was fantastic and we had lovely weather during our stay so we could take advantage of it

We sat having a few drinks watching the world go by

The television was in HD with many channels to choose from

We could even get our English Soccer on it

Steve was quick to answer any questions I had

The area was very safe and everyone we spoke to very helpful and friendly

I can highly recommend Steves apartment and if we go back to Chicago we would stay here again

Great place for urban exploration

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 5 nights while in town for work. Great place and awesome location, would be great for a family get-together with all the extra bunk beds and space. Walking distance to lots of stuff, and easy access to blue line and buses. Watch out for the weekend nights though, they'll really crank the price up.

Great Stay at a great spot!

  • 5 of 5

With crew of 7 people this place was super cozy and spacious. Steve was always very quick to help and respond to any of our needs. The closeness to the blue line, the ample parking, and the patio made this spot even better. Would highly recommend this spot.

OK for the money and space, but could be better

  • 3 of 5

If you need beds and this is your price range, it's hard to beat this. It is literally steps from the subway and there is a Dunkin Donuts, CVS, and Subway as well as numerous other restaurants within feet. The kitchen has been redone and parts of the bathrooms have been redone (they look good, but then you notice the unfinished wood, broken toilet paper holder, broken jacuzzi, etc.). The main bedroom and den left a lot to be desired. The den carpet is quite dirty and the couches have blankets on them to cover the cushions (what are there). The beds don't have headboards, mattresses are mediocre, and bedding is mediocre as well. And there is a TON of light shining in the rooms in the morning. The deck is awesome with an amazing view. In the end, it provided all we needed, and worked but I would probably squeeze into an Embassy Suites room next time for more comfort. The owner was very accommodating with our reservation and it was easy getting in and out. Just wish it could be spruced up a bit.

Great Location in Chicago

  • 4 of 5

Although the property is a little dated, it is very clean and the owner has made improvements to the kitchen and bathrooms. Just prior to our arrival date, there was an unexpected, emergency issue regarding the deck due to recent heavy rains. Contractors were there making repairs during our stay. So, unfortunately, the deck wasn't available for our use, however, Steve gave us a nice refund for our inconvenience.

Just a note for disabled / elderly guests: There are a lot of stairs to enter the apartment plus it is a two-story apartment, probably 3 1/2 flights from the outside up to the bedroom story. Also, although the subway entrance is very close, it is also NOT accessible, meaning no escalators or elevators and LOTS of stairs. Luckily, if I waited long enough, a nice young man would show up offering to help carry my bags up (or down) into the subway.
