You'll love this sunny, cozy rooftop studio like room in the quiet San Francisco neighborhood of Noe Valley. You will have a panoramic view all the way from Twin Peaks to the San Francisco Bay. Today, Noe Valley is one of San Francisco’s most desirable residential areas full of Victorian homes, shops, restaurants and easy public transportation access, all in one of the sunniest parts of The City.
Watch the fog hover over Twin Peaks as you have your morning coffee as the warm sun shines through your windows on three sides. Warm comfortable bed, cable TV and wireless Internet access. Half-bath with a wonderful tiled shower, wet-bar with large sink and small refrigerator. You will be provided with everything you need to make simple meals with the microwave, electric burning and toaster oven. Linen and towels provided.
This beautiful rooftop hideaway, with its own access through a side passageway and up a back staircase. Must be able to negotiate stairs since access is up a circular staircase of 43 steps.
You will be in walking distance to restaurants and Noe Valley’s 24th Street shops, or you can catch the J-Church MUNI line just a block away that will give you direct access not only to the environs of Noe Valley, but to the Castro, Dolores Park and downtown San Francisco for the Cable Cars and Union Square all the way to the Embarcadero. BART is just a short 10-minute walk away.
Parking is on the street. A washer and dryer are available on the premises.

The ROOFTOP SUNROOM is literally that, a room perched on the roof of a two unit building in San Francisco's Noe Valley. You view is panoramic from Twin Peaks looking west sweeping around to San Francisco Bay looking east.
San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods and Noe Valley is one of the nicest. It is in a part of The City that the sun shines brightly when much of the rest of San Francisco is in the Fog. It is a neighborhood where you walk! Walk to the shops and stores on 24th St., or find wonerful restaurants just blocks away on Church St. Walk to a cheese store, meat market, or take in the Saturday morning Farmers' Market. Walk in any direction and you will find a coffee shop where you can sit and relax enjoying your tea or coffee.
This was a lovely couple from the East Coast that has given me one of the most detailed reviews so far. They were great to have as guests and I appreciate their comments. I learned about a walking tour in San Francisco from them that I will take myself and recommend to my guests. All houses have idiosyncrasies and since this is a room in my home that was build in 1922 it has a couple as this review points out. I let my guest know about them upfront. And, there is a basin in the room. I think this is one of the most honest and truthful reviews, I know any future guests would be delighted staying in my rooftop sunroom as you can see in my guests reviews. It was a pleasure to have this couple as my guests.
My wife and I just spent a week in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dana's sunroom was ideal for us. It was clean and the location, in a neighborhood that was quiet, where the people were friendly, and that felt very safe to walk around in, was just what we wanted. Within easy walking distance were some restaurants and a Whole Foods market, as well as small shops and convenience stores. We particularly liked Casa Mexicana on Church St. for fresh, tasty Mexican food. We had no need to rent a car, preferring to use public transportation. The nearest MUNI stop is within a 5 minute walk and connects to any part of the city you would want to visit. Buying a CityPass or a weekly MUNI pass makes it economical as well. And as the weekly rate for the rental was so reasonable, much cheaper than staying in a downtown hotel, more money could be spent on enjoying the many activities available in the bay area. We particularly enjoyed visiting Muir Woods, the Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz (on a night tour, which is less crowded than ones during the day), and ATT Park for a Giants game. I highly recommend, if you are able to handle the walking, the Real SF tour, which, between walking and using public transportation, is a day-long, small-group guided tour of many neighborhoods and sites in the city. We took it on our first day and as it was so informative about the history of the city and it's various neighborhoods, helped us greatly during the remainder of our stay to make use of the MUNI easier, to appreciate the diversity of the city, and to help us decide which neighborhoods and attractions we wanted to explore further.
During our stay Dana was the perfect host, helpful and concerned that our visit was going smoothly. He was always available if needed but in no way intrusive. To be fair with this review, there are a few, small quirks about the sunroom that we had to adjust to but they were quite minor, namely no sink in the bathroom and no available freezer/ice maker if you wanted ice cubes for a drink. And as Dana makes everyone well aware in his listing, there is the 43-step, twisty flight of stairs that must be climbed to reach the sunroom. We are both in our mid-50s and while it is certainly navigable, it does require some care doing so. But again, to us these were all minor inconveniences and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return to San Francisco. Thanks for everything Dana--we had a great vacation!
My husband and I stayed in this wonderful sunroom for a little over a week. This sunroom is just perfect for a couple looking to experience San Francisco like locals. We took Uber most of the times as well as the MUNI. The MUNI is located literally down the block from the sunroom. The sunroom is located far enough for relaxation and close enough to the fun part of San Francisco. The MUNI will drop you off in the middle of the city or if you decide to take Uber it will only take about 15 minutes.
In regards to the owner Dana Rees, he was wonderful and very attentive to us. He made sure we were comfortable, took time to talk about San Francisco and what to do and took care of our luggage.
If we decide to go back to San Francisco I would choose to stay in this sunroom again. !!
I cannot recommend a stay at this property highly enough.
Dana and his partner were great, hospitable hosts, and I feel that they went out of their way to make me welcome and make the most of my time in SF.
The property is in a quiet, safe, charming residential area. The sunroom is exactly as pictured, and offers a great view, airflow, and abundant natural light (you're likely to wake with the sun). It is well-serviced by public transport within a few minutes' walking distance. I had no problem navigating the staircase. The bed is comfortable, and the amenities were ample for my 11-day stay.
As a first time visitor, I appreciated the local feel of Noe Valley, but still found it easy to explore the city's various tourist attractions.
Regardless of whether I wanted to be active, or just lie back and put my feet up, this was the perfect place for me to stay.
I would have no hesitation staying here again.
First of all, if arriving on the BART, your closest stop Mission and 24th. I suggest to not walk from there, as it's a 7 or 8 block walk. This does NOT work well with luggage. So, take Lyft, Uber, taxi, etc. You'll arrive at a wonderful rental that is made even MORE wonderful by a great host, Mr. Dana Rees. He is extremely helpful in any way that he can. The 43 step staircase is slightly tight, but not something that you need be worried about. The room was just perfect for my wife and me. The great thing about this room is that the days begin when the sun rises. You get sunlight as early as it's available. It is nice and quiet ALL the time. You would think that you are all alone in the middle of the woods. With the exception of the passing fire truck here and there. There are many restaurants nearby. Luv a Java across the street was awesome! Very nice owner. The room is perfectly sized and I feel that it had just about everything you need. We were here for 7 days and it was super all throughout our stay. The fact that it's away for busy streets of Downtown is a great aspect. However, you are close enough to get to anywhere you need. The streets are quite safe to get around. In fact, we walked 57 miles during our stay. On a single day, we walked 14.7 miles. It was the only way to truly sightsee the city. For breakfast, try Crepevine. It is close to Golden Gate park. Try the Swedish oatmeal pancakes. You will NOT regret it. I highly recommend this rental and consider it a bargain for the location, value, accommodations, host, and cleanliness. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Dana for being so pleasant.:-)
Everything was easy from the sunroom and Dana was a friendly and helpful host.
Very comfortable studio apartment, with a great views, and had with everything we needed. No surprises - just like the photos/desciption
Great location with easy walking to restaurants and coffee shops and Whole Foods, and we were on and off street cars (1 block from the sunroom) every day to get to museums and starting points for walking tours.
Hope to come back to the sunroom someday!
