My family of 6 just stayed at the Hawk's Nest for 3 nights over the New Year's holiday weekend. The cabin was exactly what we needed. It's out of town and off the beaten path, which is what we like and why we chose it. The beds are comfortable, the water is clean and gets plenty hot for a shower, and the cabin is clean, tidy, and well kept. We had all the dishes, towels, and linens we needed, as well as plenty of firewood. The view from the back deck is nice and the whole area is very quiet and peaceful. Yes, the road is a little tricky and demands your attention while driving it, but it's not the worst road I've ever travelled in the mountains....if you're gonna get to the really high places with nice views, chances are you're gonna have to drive a steep, narrow, mountain road to get to it...if that isn't for you, you might wanna stay in the city. After driving the road in and out a couple of times, it was far less intimidating and worrisome. Overall, we were well pleased with our choice to stay at the Hawk's Nest and would recommend it to other travelers who want privacy and serenity when they're travelling to the Cherokee area...we give it 2 thumbs Up.
Our family enjoyed our stay in this quaint and quiet mountain cabin. The ride up to the cabin is a true mountain experience. Cozy cabin with plenty of room for our extended family.... 6 adults and 3 children.
What a wonderful cabin tucked onto a mountain side. If you are looking to stay in a place that has views this cabin does not disappoint! Not only were the views great the cabin was very clean and well stocked. We visited with two other couples and had plenty of room. All of our vehicles were able to access the property and the directions provided by the owner are great. Location is super close to Cherokee and in a short drive you are in Dillsboro and Sylva. We immensely enjoyed our stay and will return.
Very comfortable and close to a lot of the places we like to visit - Sylva, Dillsboro, Franklin , etc; great porch and rocking chairs. Fireplace came in handy the last night of our stay😃
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend escape to the mountains. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner gave great directions for getting there and left the home well stocked with the essentials - made for a very nice couple of days!
No complaints. He gives good directions to the cabin. The driveway is fine; he has concrete strips on it and it's no problem going up. It may be a little steep but you are in the mountains and should be expected. The cabin was clean and beds are comfortable. The view is gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The owner, Kermit, we met once during our stay is a really nice guy. We would recommend it as a nice getaway.
