Romantic Coastal Cottage

Bedrooms 1
Space 900 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Romantic, Coastal, Arts and Crafts Style Cottage, originally built in 1918 by Zella Lee Gibson, as her painting studio. The cottage has been lovingly restored by the owners, a wine country interior designer and a general contractor. Perfect for the discriminating renter who wants the best of what Dillon Beach has to offer. Full Circle has received 168, FIVE STAR reviews. This is very, very rare anywhere on the VRBO website and unheard of in Dillon Beach.

'Full Circle' has an all redwood interior, 17 foot high vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, 180 degree ocean view, filled with period antiques, lighting and original artwork. The cottage art and decor is a homage to the original inhabitants of the area, the Coastal Miwok Indians. Known as 'the cutest house in the village', at Dillon Beach. Located just 200 strides from the beach down Bumble Bee Path.

Upon check-in, you are welcomed with a bottle of Cline Cashmere wine (It tastes as smooth as it sounds), a fresh cut bouquet of flowers from Second Street Flowers in Petaluma, Coast Roast coffee, a box of 4 custom Full Circle, Belgium chocolate truffles by Le Belge, live orchids, plush Turkish cotton bath sheets and robes, Terra Pure organic shampoo, conditioner and body wash and custom, hand made, organic Full Circle soaps from Hawaii. The new pillow-top queen size bed is made with 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters, down pillows and Pendleton Chief blankets. The fire is built and ready to light.

Wake up each morning to the sun streaming in the magnificent front gable, stained glass, church window. Watch the waves roll in on the beach from your bed in the loft. Spend your days relaxing in the plush Lloyd Flanders furniture on the patio and upper deck overlooking the ocean. Enjoy a sparkling clean hot tub with a whitewater ocean view and watch the sun set on the ocean. BBQ and have dinner under the stars on the deck. Make some memories while gathered around the outdoor fireplace. Fall asleep in the plush bed to the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach.

A one of a kind place for that special occasion. The cottage has been featured in the Travel section of the New York Times, 'Elegant Bungalows' by Bethany Lyttle, on February 8th, 2008. It was also used as the set for the short film by Tarik Haddad, 'The Sound of a Yellow Flower', which played in the London Film Festival and the Dubai Film Festival's, among others. Gary William Kohler wrote and recorded a song about the cottage, 'Full Circle', that is included on his CD, 'Nowhere to be Found'.

This cottage is pure romantic bliss.

The cottage is meticulously maintained to the highest cleaning standards. It is cleaned with eco-friendly products for 5 to 6 hours between each guest and deep cleaned once a month for five hours. Down pillows are washed regularly and have pillow covers under the pillow cases. The brand new Hot Springs spa has a sophisticated ozone filter system and is also thoroughly completely cleaned between each guest and maintained monthly by Hot Springs Spa Valet Service.

The cleaning fee of $125 is a separate fee and paid at check-out.

About Tom

Tom purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Tom chose Dillon Beach

Dillon Beach is an old fishing village built right after the turn of the century. You feel like your 1,000 miles from 'civilization' when you are there. It is like 'the town that time forgot' perched on the edge of the world, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay.

This restored, all redwood artist studio, is truly a one-of-a-kind and the perfect place for a romantic getaway or just simple peace, quiet and solitude.

What makes this cabin unique

Historic property. Dramatic backyard ocean views, smells and sounds. All Redwood interior, 17' vaulted ceiling, loft, short walk to the beach. Good bones.

Happy Couple

  • 5 of 5

Once we arrived at the cottage we were speechless. The careful attention to detail from the craftsmanship of the home to the decor and amenities was amazing. I've personally worked in some very high end expensive places...some that go for over 3,000.00 a night and I would choose this place over those any day! For a couple it is one of the most romantic, charming place we could have imagined. I just want to say thank you to Tom for the opportunity to stay and share this wonderful place. The pictures were hard to believe but once we showed up it was apparent that the owners and caretakers go through a great deal to make this place special.

Perfect getaway spot for an anniversary on the Northern California coast

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I loved this house. The owners have done an impressive job of maintaining many functional and beautiful features of the original cottage, while supplementing it with design features that keep the vibe of its past. The house is immaculately maintained, especially for an old structure by the sea, and well appointed for modern needs (gas stove to accompany a fire one, gas grill, new hot tub, and every option for making coffee, for example). It's cozy and comfortable, and boasts quality views of the ocean and high quality details such as the linens and kitchen utensils. We cooked our own meals, read books, walked/ran on the beach, and enjoyed more quiet sitting time than I have in years. Our contact was super nice, and the wine and chocolate a perfect touch. Thank you!

Beyond our expectations, better than reflected in the photos.

This property is a hidden gem. The attention to decorating details, cleanliness, provisions to make our stay like at home was wonderful. The outdoor area is beautiful and invites one to sit and enjoy the sound of the ocean and the view. We will return if we are ever in the area again.

Thank you.

Perfect Everything

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned from a working vacation at the Full Circle house. We spent 4 days enjoying this incredible home, it's view of the ocean and beach, and the amazing outdoor living area. Even before booking the home, Tom was quick to respond to me and even had a router moved so we could have access to ethernet for work! Linda was warm and friendly upon our arrival. There is so much thought and care put into every aspect of this home, it's truly one of the best we've ever stayed at! I especially enjoyed the history of the home provided in the guest book. Thank you Tom and Linda! We will be back!
